Terrible place to eat, and go! Very over priced and crappy selection! Save your money! Or go to Detroit! Very dirty as well, BS that they are 5 star! Haha I laugh at that!

It’s a great buffet, seriously, it truly is. But since I live in Detroit and I’m pretty much at striking distance of really good casino buffets. Although since this is probably the only good decent buffet in toledo, I doubt people around the area would go anywhere else. We’ve experienced their prime rib and shrimp night twice. It’s pretty good actually, just go up to the server and ask for any cut you’d like. They’ll automatically cut you up a nice and thick slice. Ask for some aujus and grab some horse radish. Trust me, those are what pushes this yummy cut of meat to the edge. After sampling plenty of other dishes, some dishes stand out more than the others. The ribs are good, you can never go wrong with fried chicken, the stroganoff is yummy, the meatballs can never go wrong and the frog legs are sublime. Others might have different favorites, but those are my go to dishes here. Service is really good, all of the floor employees. From the cashiers to the host, to the waiters. They are all genuinely delighted to take care of you. Make sure to not skip dessert, they’re really good. I’ll come see you again next time I have an excuse to come. Thank you epic buffet for a good pig out. Follow me on Instagram and snapchat: rodtorres3

Well we all have a first time for everything right? Well, tonight was my first time at the Hollywood Casino in Ohio. Now, this casino is no Las Vegas, but it does contain it’s own personal style. Saturday night is their surf and turf night and I must say that I am highly impressed with their selection. This buffet is $ 33.00 per person which is kinda of high for what you receive, but again this is not Las Vegas. The crab is heated and very delicious, the steak and macaroni and cheese are great as well. Their sweet potatoes contained much flavor, but needed additional cooking time. Overall, I had a great time at the Epic buffet and would come again while traveling through Ohio.

Seriously… it’s almost a Thursday night ritual for my partner and I to head to the buffet at the Hollywood Casino. At $ 11.99(on Thursdays) with your Marquee Rewards card(available at the service desk), you can’t beat it for price or quality! Oh. and did I say this includes a soft drink, coffee, milk, or tea? Well. it does. With a bit of Italian, Polish, Mexican, Chinese, and American on the buffet… there’s something for everyone and the quality is outstanding. Yeah. there are those occasional nights when it feels like an item has been out there too long. but it’s rare. Desserts are some of the finest in town.And.if you’re in the mood. you can always gamble after your meal. because you always win at the buffet!

We like the Epic Buffet at the Hollywood Casino in Toledo, Ohio. The food is good and the service is excellent. We’ve had the Prime Rib, Steak, Fried Chicken, Italian specialties, Mongolian Style cooking, Cantonese style Chinese, Mexican, Soups, Salads and great desserts. The cashier line gets a little long on their Special nights with Crab Legs or sometimes Lobster, but once inside the service goes pretty smoothly. One thing they could improve on is the Cashier Line as it takes a lot of time to pay for your meal. I would recommend downloading the Hollywood Casino App before you go and see what they are offering that day. Three stars and I’ll be back…

Upon walking into the buffet, I noted that it was nice and looked very clean. The manager was very awkward though, there wasn’t a line, so we walked up next to the group that was currently purchasing their meal, and the manager made us move over to where the line would be if one existed, only for us seconds later to make our way to the desk, it just wasn’t necessary. Our waitress was excellent, but the rest of the employees looked like they would rather be elsewhere. I walked up to the buffet area, which was very small compared to others in Detroit, but I was immediately excited to see that allergens were listed for most of the items in the buffet! Only that exclamation would turn into a frown when I realized that almost everything had dairy in it, literally. even the grilled pineapple, roasted potatoes, EVERYTHING. My issue with this is, if you’re to make a conscious effort to list allergens, why not try to make some of the items so that those with particular allergens can at least have something to eat??? It is not very difficult to make awesome roasted potatoes with oil and some seasonings, you can make veggie sushi rolls without smothering them in some sort of milk based sauce. My options were hummous and pita, salad bar with oil and vinegar, peaches, and fruit salad. I also kind of made my own stir fry thing up, but allergens weren’t listed for the sauces, although they generally don’t contain dairy, I don’t consume animal products entirely, but avoid dairy especially due to stomach issues, so the possibility that fish sauces had me go away from that, but I used a little soy sauce, sriracha, and some peach juice to make something resembling a sweet and spicy sauce that was ok with the veggies. Now, normally since I restrict my diet due to personal choices, I would probably just skip a review on this place, however my girlfriend LOVES casino buffets, its the only reason we go to them. Normally I find a good amount of options to make me satisfied upon leaving, even at times leaving happy with my meal! but here’s the thing, she didn’t like her meal either! Almost everything she had was pretty substandard, and she doesn’t even have that high of standards. I have never seen her disappointed with one before, but this one did. Her stuffed chicken was also undercooked according to her, so she didn’t even finish that. The only thing she liked was stuffed cabbage. Even the desserts disappointed her, although they did seem to have a decent variety. Two stars simply due to the good waitress, otherwise it would have been a 1 star review.

We went for the all you can eat lobster. I saw tin buckets overflowing with lobster shells everywhere. I thought we were in for something special. The buckets were even on the floor under the tables… literally, there were lobster shells on the floor. And there was no hurry to clean it up. Many employees walked past these messes and did nothing to clean it up. In fact, one table was wiped clean but the lobster shells were left on the floor for the next guests. Big chunks of shell under their feet. They were kicking them aside. Our plates were not picked up until we we were ready to leave, the waitress asked if we could stack them onto the pile she already had in her hand. Really? We did not have a problem with our buckets over flowing. The lobster was not good, it was like chewing on rubber. Could not even get through one. The food was mediocre, nothing about this EPIC buffet was epic. The $ 32 price tag should reflect a classy restaurant and awesome food. We got neither.

My husband had the crab– he loved it! There was plenty! Steak didn’t turn me on at all-even after dousing with A1. Carrot cake was a disappointment ! Sausage Alfredo was super, so was fantail shrimp. Service was great!

Came here for Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet, and I was pleasantly surprised. The place was full, but the line to get in wasn’t too long. The prime rib was flavorful, tender, juicy, and delicious. Mashed potatoes were a little watery. I like that there seem to be a good variety of cooked vegetables to choose from. Sushi left a bit to be desired. The cocktail shrimp was decent. I loved the variety of desserts offered, but the stand-out dessert is the crème brûlée. My experience here was pretty good, and I’d go back.

For the price I was disappointed. There was a lot of food but for some reason the majority of it, even the meats, had a strange taste. Hard to describe, somewhat sweet like teriyaki. Not very appealing, especially when everything has the same flavor. The crab was also a bit overcooked and difficult to contend with. However, the salad bar was good and they do have a large selection of different items.

Went for the all you can eat lobster. The lobster was really good. There where times that it was difficult to crack it open. The buffet selection was good. They just need to work on keeping it filled better. Highly recommend for dessert you get the pumpkin cheesecake. It is one of the best cheesecakes I ever had. The service from my waitress was amazing. She always kept drinks filled and plates cleared. I will totally be going back again.

I was on the late lunch time for buffet. Monday seems to be slower day at casino. The London broil was perfectly medium rare. The bbq ribs were perfect, I tried about half track to make sure the review was correct(I took more than 1 trip). The cheesy taters made with maybe chez whiz could have been better. Fried green beans were really good. Grilled squash, zucchini, and even better pineapple were all awesome! The deserts were average and not overly creative. Soups were chicken noodle and pureed chicken tortilla. Nice thought but again average. The price at lunch was $ 16 and after 4 pm it jumps to $ 24. Definitely overpriced for dinner, server said the set up is the same for both except for Friday were its $ 38 but has crab legs.

The food was fresh with a lot of variety. This comment is coming from a very picky person who is not a fan of buffets. Not the best buffet ever but I would recommend it for lunch.

Had dinner last Friday night and it was well worth the $ 30 price. Raw oysters on the half shell so fresh you could smell the ocean. Peel and eat shrimp big, not over cooked and seasoned beautifully. Prime rib available rare, tender and flavorful. An unusual cornbread casserole I could have made a meal out of. Outstanding bread pudding. Even a decent inexpensive Cabernet on the menu. Staff were very hospitable. We had a disappointing experience last spring during the initial opening but they have obviously found their footing and up their game.

Have to agree with the others. I wanted this place to be good and even great. The desserts seem pretty decent but by the time you consider the price of the meal along with tax and tip I am sorry to say I can’t recommend it. If they lowered the price by $ 5.00 per person I think I could then justify it. It is hard to stomach a bill of around $ 40.00 or more for a lunch for two. At best it is borderline for that price. The staff are polite.

Overpriced cafetaria food. No, wait a minute I have had cafetaria food that tasted better. Went there today on a Wednesday evening around 7pm(prime dinner time) and the food had been setting for a long time — dried out — and tasteless. I definately would not recommend this for anyone; well, except for maybe someone that I really despise.

Epic Buffet? More like Epic Fail Buffet! I like buffet’s. I don’t love them, but I can appreciate a buffet when I just wanna fill my gullet and experience mac’n’cheese AND asian chicken AND a chocolate mousse all within 3 feet of each other… with that said, EpIc Buffet SUCKED. I went on a Friday afternoon for lunch whilst gambling away my boyfriends money and from the outside, it looks amazing. Tall ceilings, well decorated and very clean! Lunch was 15.99 per person, so I was excited to smash food into mouth because I feel that for 15.99, things will be pretty tasty. Well, when you first walk in, you see a tantalizing display of various desserts that make your mouth water, but past that… its dried up, over cooked mediocre food. Our server was very nice, funny, and very welcoming, but overall, the staff(both hostess’s, cooks, and servers) were all unprofessional. The cooks acted as though they were to busy to cook decent food and not even tend to the food they did cook. Everyone else was being loud and dancing(yes, dancing). The chicken was so dry that cutting into it actually required some work, the sushi was either old and stale or the rice was undercooked, the pizza was dry, the desserts tasted like a refrigerator, and everything else that was actually edible was nothing special. Finally, we decided that we should let someone know about this, not to get a refund, but because it was pretty silly that no one gave a s**t about the food. When we told our server about our experience, she went and spoke with the manager. She came back to our table and let us know the manager would handle it. I was puzzled, because the manager really should have come to us to let us know that he would DOHISJOB. Apparently, he is a big chicken. The food is not worth the price. I’d say you should save the 15 – 30 bucks and lose it in the casino, because if all you are going to do is lose it either way, you might as well lose it while having fun.

I fully realize that the establishment this buffet is inside of is a gaming institution and not a restaurant. That said, the casino buffets i have had elsewhere are far superior to this. I went there on a Friday for lunch. It was in the time between lunch and dinner — around 2:30. It started with the outer staff(those you pay to get into the buffet) not really paying much attention to anything and just talking amongst themselves. I didnt feel much like anyone cared we were there throughout the entire time(including the cooking staff and dessert ladies), aside from our waitress, Jackie, who was great. Again, i realize there wasnt a lot of business during this time, but if they are still going to serve food it should be consistent. At one point the employees had a mini dance off in the entryway; after the chef at the meat counter came over to help me, he openly complained about how dull the knives were; i had to ask for help at the dessert counter after making eye contact with a staff member more than once — and then they discussed who would come to help me, though neither was really doing anything; the kicker was the response we got when i complained about the food quality — ill get to that. The buffet had less of a ‘buffet’ feel to me and more of a ‘cafeteria’ feel. I seemed like i should have taken my plate to be weighed at the end and paid after. The food itself seemed mostly prepared — as though a lot of it comes in a container and is heated up. This may be because everything was old and from lunch, but i tried almost everything and most of it was barely edible, a lot tasting almost like TV dinner food. Again, it may be better during peak times, but for a $ 16 lunch i had expected fresh food. The meatballs were rubbery, the pizza was not fresh, the potatoes and beans were dried out, the Chicken Paprikash could not be cut it was so dry(it actually broke in half), the sushi was completely inedible and the rice crispie squares tasted like all of the fruit pies in the cooler with them. Primarily the food was not good, and given the cost i would have also expected a few more options. Most food items were not labeled properly or simply labeled ‘Chef’s Selection’. Because of the overall disappointment i explained to our waitress that we were less than impressed with the food. She returned a short time later explaining that the manager went behind the line and talked to the workers, and that the Sushi chef explained the sushi was bad because the rice wasnt cooked enough. He also said the beans had a dry film on them because ‘the more the chef stirred them they started to look like refried beans, and he didnt want that, so he stopped’. The manager was apparently busy or disinterested in talking to us himself. There was no apology for the food at all, and no offer of a refund or comp of any kind, even though the cooks recognized the food quality was not good, going so far as to make excuses as to why. Overall i would recommend avoiding this place. If you have to eat at the casino maybe try one of the other restaurants, but given the apathy of the manager i would not be surprised if the food quality is very low throughout all of the restaurants. The impression i got was that they wanted to be a high class place(the fixtures are nice and the desserts are displayed well) but missed the mark on all fronts. Maybe they will get this worked out eventually as they have recently opened, but i am not going to be the person to determine when this will happen. I really contemplated a 1 star rating, the only reason for a 2 star is because i sincerely hope i just hit the buffet at a bad time and that it is usually better.
