I am a professional woman w a husband who travels alot. Consequently, I eat out a lot… and alone. After all, its just dinner. Was craving fish and chips today. Boy was I disappointed! The chips are seasoned steak fries. The 1st batch cold. The waitress apoligized and brought a fresh plate. They were so salty i couldnt eat them. Uggh. The coleslaw that came with was warm and about a tablespoon. Seriously. The fish was flaky and nicely done but very little flavor for cod. I also ordered the potato and leek soup which was delicious. Oh! It took until I was done with the soup to get my iced tea. Overall a very dissapointing meal. I certainly won’t be returning anytime soon. There was nothing authentic about this restaurants food.

Have visitied Claddagh half a dozen times over the past few years, and my experience has varied from visit to visit. Based upon our experience this time, and other Unilocal reviews, sadly, it would appear our experience this time was more the norm than the expection. Here goes … My companion and I split the loaded chips appetizer. Really had high hopes for this, but ugh. The fries were greasy/soggy. The cheese had the same consistency and taste as the cheese you get with your nachos at Taco Bell. And the«bacon» was only a tic above baco-bits. Not what I would expect from a place such as Claddagh. My companion had the fish and chips … another disappointment. Fish was small. It almost looks like they took a filet, and cut it into strips. Too little fish, too much batter. Just ugh. I had the stuffed pork chop, which proved to be the biggest let down of the evening. It was waaaay overstuffed. The chop was dry dry dry, likely from being overcooked and then languishing under a heat lamp before being served(I make that assumption because the stuffing and sauce had that fine little slightly hard shell or skin you get when something has been sitting around). I would have sent it back, but our server was no where to be seen. The place was busy, but not slammed. There were at least two other servers in our area, so there is no excuse for his lack of attention. I even had to get one of the other servers to get me a refil on my drink. I don’t enjoy writing a negative review, but for $ 60(before tip), I expect a far better experience.

I had a craving and was looking for some corned beef and cabbage, so I was apply to see there is a Claddaugh in Toledo. I’ve visited the Livonia store a few times, but I hadn’t tried the corned beef with them. It was a bit pricy, but I liked it. Granted, it wasn’t nearly as good as my mother’s corned beef, but I think many people could make similar claims. Overall, the entire dish was quite good and I had no complaints; I would do it again. My daughter didn’t like her kid’s menu broiled fish(typical picky kid), but I ate it and thought it was fine. My wife had the Monte Cristo and said it was pretty greasy, but I say if you order a fried sandwich, you get grease. I’m sure we will be back.

Love this bar. Fish & chips bogo Mondays are the best. That Wednesday bartender is pretty awesome! The Veggie burger’s darn good too.

My boyfriend and I stopped here to get lunch. When we entered the restaurant, it seemed that no one was there. Several minutes went by and we saw no hostess or server, just a few people at the bar staring us down. Finally my boyfriend walked around until he found a server. She sat us at a table, did not apologize for our wait, introduce herself, or ask how we were doing. Just simply threw menus at us and said«what do you want to drink». Throughout our meal she never once returned to ask how our meals were, or to refill our drinks. She did however, stand around and chat with the other waitresses. I ordered a chicken sandwich, which was delicious, and my boyfriend ordered a burger which he liked. At the end of the meal she tossed the bill on the table without asking if we needed boxes or thanking us for coming in. The stars for this review are for the taste, quality, and value of the food. While we enjoyed our meals, the unprofessional and careless service is why we will not be returning.

I used to be a HUGE fan of Claddaugh. The menu has changed a few times in the last few years, and every time something is adjusted, the change hasn’t been good. I’m so lukewarm about the restaurant now. I got the corned beef dinner tonight, and the whole dish was very bland. Just not a lot good going on there. The only good Irish thing on the menu(in my opinion) is the fish and chips. However, I haven’t had that in maybe 8 months, so I don’t know if its any good either.

I think this place is great for a restaurant linked to a mall. Staff is friendly and helpful and they have great beer selection. The bar has tons of TVs and is a great place to watch games. Food is delicious and I’m a sucker for their veggie burger. It’s unlike any patty I’ve ever had and so flavorful. Love their food. So great.

Today while I waited for my apple appointment I came and had a bud light while I watched some Sunday football. Brian was the bartender and he was a helpful guy who had a sense of humor. I orders the signature burger that was awesome with a egg on top. The potato wedges were a solid addition to this meal. The customer service was great, the only thing keeping this place from a 5 star review would be that it took 20 min or so to get my food and that’s a little long for an empty restaurant! Cmon man!

So I came back a few more times since my first review. Happy to say that service seems to have improved. Food still is great. Our waiter, Rob, got things done. Beers took appropriate time and he made for a great night. Also came here during the women’s World Cup and was very happy with the service. Happy to up the review to 4 stars and happy to have a solid Irish Pub nearby! I hope they keep it up!

Love this place. Great wait staff and bar tenders. I come here pretty frequently strictly for drinks, but I hear the food is pretty good. It is a bit pricey compared to some other places but the atmosphere makes up for it. Highly recommended.

Seriously, this food is just so damn good. I love that I can bring my family here, watch amazing sports, and stuff my face. I legit dream about the Scotch Eggs, Fried Corn Beef and Cabbage Rolls and fish and chips. Ugh. It’s just perfect. It’s the perfect meal. Also hugely recommend the Guinness Mac n’ Cheese and the Monte Cristo sandwich.

Only went one time and probably won’t go back because the location. Eating at the mall is for people from out of town because there are better places to eat in Toledo outside the mall. The award winning beer battered fish was good but didn’t think it was worth the price. My main issue was that I asked for a lunch menu and thought I ordered the fish off the lunch menu but was charged the dinner price. Mostly discouraged from returning because of better options in the area with a more accessible parking lot. I suggest trying the food to make your open opinion because it was good food but didn’t like the atmosphere. Expensive draft beer prices must pay for an expensive lease.

I took a break from going to Claddagh for a couple of years. Since then, it looks like they changed their menu. We had excellent service and very tasty food. Their monte cristo sandwich is battered and completely deep-fried. Some might find this disgusting and unhealthy; I find it absolutely delicious! The sandwich came with their chips(fries), which I think are some of the best in town. Definitely a good place to stop for a drink or a meal if you’re around the mall. Good choice of beers on tap.

Food was great service was excellent. Best Scotch Eggs served on a bed of fresh arugula mix. Just a hint of a warm, soft yolk with a crunchy, crisp exterior. House Caesar was very good too. We also ordered the Gaelic Chicken served on a bed of mashed potatoes infused with Irish Whiskey Mushroom Sauce. I would have liked more mushrooms but as a sauce it was great. The place was not busy but we were there on a Friday afternoon at 4:00pm. Think I will be a little more adventurous next time and try the Shepherd’s Pie.

Ok we keep going back to this place simply because it’s the only bar in the mall. I really don’t know how this place stays in business, the only guess I have is they are saving money by only working with a skeleton crew. Seriously there’s never more than two people working the floor tops. The last time we were in we had 40 minutes till my boyfriend had a haircut apt at JC Penny, so we decided to grab what we thought would be a quick drink. The girl behind the bar took 15 minutes making two martinis for some girls, by the time she came over to us we ordered our drinks and the check because we had no time. This isn’t the first time, it’s always terrible service. It’s a shame too because it’s a nice place, good food, and the atmosphere is welcoming. But unless the manager hires more people, or schedules more people to work this place is going to tank.

Came in on a not so busy Saturday night around 8, granted the FIFA world cup was on but after waiting about 2 min for a hostess or server to greet us at the«please wait here to be seated» sign. We were seated at a slightly sticky table where we sat for about 5min being ignored by the staff before one came over to take our drink order, which promptly came, then after another 4 or 5 min the server who took our drink order asked if we had any questions, my fiancé ordered a meal and he walked away to put it in the computer without even giving me a glance for my order. When he returned with silverware and plates, I had to ask if I could place a food order too. And onto the food… After about 7 or 8 min the server came out to let me know they are out of buns for the burger, luckily they had other bread choices but not a real recommendation of what will go well on the signature burger(at this point I am writing this in real time so I’m changing tenses). Time to see how long this takes for our food to come and the quality Lucky for my hungry belly food came 5 minutes later The food wasn’t anything to write home about, but not bad. Though the beer cheese was fairly good. I would like to point out I have ate here several times, and had the signature burger at least 3 other times and it seems to be going down in quality with each visit as does the service . Hopefully if we come back again thing will be on the way up as far as service quality.

Had a pretty good experience at Claddagh recently. Went there and there was a short wait(approx. 15 mins.). We were seated and immediately approached by our waiter. Took our order and got our apps(Corned Beef & Cabbage Egg Rolls & Scotch Eggs). They were pretty tasty. The entrees took a bit long but we were told a large groups order went in just before ours. No big deal. I had the Fish & Chips… very solidly done. The fish was blazingly hot as were the fries(they were out of pub chips). The fish was flaky, fresh, and very good. My bud had the house burger with the egg on it and the report was very good as well. I really like the egg rolls here and the eggs very done well also. All in all a nice experience. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve been to Claddagh and I’d happily return!
