Novacare Rehabilitation

What can I say about this place but that it is a game changer. I have been treated here at least 4 times over the years for different ailments. Let me be totally clear. JERRY IS A LIFE CHANGER. What I mean is that I have come in here many times in bad shape. Currently I am being treated for my knee which will be replaced soon. When I showed up a few months ago I was in the worst extreme pain in my life. I was basically unable to walk and it was having a major impact on my quality of life. Within a few visits I was walking again and by 6 my pain was greatly reduced to the point which I could walk normally, not live on pain killers and get in and out of a sitting position again without help. I did not think it would be possible but it happened. I am at the point now where I am working to get as well as possible so I get the best results from my upcoming surgery. It is completely true that stretching is nearly everything to healing injured muscle and I am living proof that’s that it works on the worst of cases.
I have sent several people here and they have had the same experience as I am. I have been to several other chiropractors and physical therapists and did not get the results I get here. I will never go anywhere else again. Live long and stretch!

I hope you never need physical therapy but when you do, you’ll find it quite confusing because everyone says they are the best. When I was searching for one a few months ago, I found several were closed on the list of network providers. Disappointing because it was a current list from my insurance website… and just shows you how transient these places are.
In calling NovaCare on 80^th Avenue in Tinley Park, I was greeting personally by Anne who was very helpful and knowledge on insurance requirements. She had to do some extra inquiries because I was on COBRA… and she got all the right answers. Some of the others I called had you leave a message… that was never returned! The person who answers the phone makes an impression and patients can go anywhere they want! Because of Anne, I was confident she would take good care of the paperwork and reimbursement work.
The exceptional part of working with this NovaCare is Jerry, the therapist. While he does have all kinds of initials after his name… it’s more important how it is applied to each unique situation. He has both the knowledge and the wisdom to help along the healing process and keep the discomfort to a minimum. He gave many suggestions on techniques I could use at home and I like that it was a variety… not the same old movement over and over again.
The atmosphere with other patients is always friendly, while maintaining privacy. I believe this location has been open several years. Again, showing their stability and dedication to their patients. One time, it was snowing and the roads were bad… and I knew he was coming in a little earlier for me. He made a point of calling me that morning to let me know travel was bad and making sure I wasn’t in trouble on the road.
I have recommended him to others… so thought I would add it here.

I’ve only been going to Novacare for 10 days, but I can already notice such a huge difference in my hip pain. Jerry is extremely knowledgeable about anatomy (of course!) and how different injuries respond to various tailored therapies. I’ve been able to get appointments at convenient times and Jerry is great, whether working with only one patient or with several at a time. I’m really optimistic now that my hip will get much better!

If I could give Novacare 12 stars, I would. I had total hip replacement surgery in October 2013. Before my surgery, I interviewed several local physical therapy businesses in person, in and around Tinley Park. Most of them were too busy or disinterested to answer my questions. At one facility, the teenage girl at the reception desk only knew how to giggle. I walked out immediately. Luckily, I stopped in at Novacare in Tinley Park. Anne immediately got up from her desk and greeted me. She introduced me to physical therapist Jerry Davis. I was able to ask questions regarding my upcoming post-​surgery therapy which he answered intelligently and thoughtfully.
Jerry is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and passionate about what he does. This is not just a job to him, it is his vocation. I had no idea what to expect as this was my first experience with surgery and rehab — I was terrified. Jerry is patient, but at the same time he challenges you to do the best you can without pushing too far. I love all the tips he shares so you can continue therapy at home on the days you’re not scheduled to come to the clinic. When I saw my surgeon in November, he said I had progressed well beyond what 99% of hip replacement patients had at this point, and he attributed this to the excellent physical therapy I was receiving at Novacare.
I’m about to graduate from regular clinic visits as it’s been almost 3 months since my hip surgery. Jerry has instilled in me the passion and desire to continue with my recovery and I’m better, stronger and healthier thanks to the excellent care I received at Novacare in Tinley Park.
