Wilson River Rv Park

While home on leave from the Navy, we pulled in to feed our crying baby. Kicked us out immediately, even after explaining the circumstances. Completely unsympathetic a-​holes. Hospitality apparently costs money there…

We spent two nights here and it was lovely and tranquil with a beautiful river view. We even saw two bald eagles one morning! The management was friendly and helpful and the facilities were great. Our dog loved the dog run! We are looking forward to coming back!

We were headed west to Tillamook when there was a horrific accident up ahead stopping traffic right in front of this RV park. The manager and his assistant started acting like they were managing the traffic, demanding that we move our cars further off the road, running up to the cops in their golf carts and basically making demands on all the drivers stopped waiting for the traffic to clear. After about an hour of waiting for the accident to be cleared those managers started telling people that even though there was a bathroom at the park no one could use it. With all the stress, this was very rude. If they treat the people staying at the park the same we and all the other stranded drivers were treated, this would not be a place I’d stay.

This is my second time here. Again another enjoyable experience. Quiet. The brook babbling in the background. The park seems to have been upgraded and taken care of. Wonderful enclosed doggie park. Clean and enjoyable spots to park in. The park would do good to upgrade their restrooms and invest in Wi-​Fi that reaches the very end of the park. Don’t get me wrong they’re clean just needs a facelift. I get everyone wants to download movies and games on multiple devices. Unfortunately this is were we have gone in searching for comforts.
Overall a pleasant park to stay in.

$ 38 per day??? way to expensive for such little service. Showers? you need to pay to use… cable? you need a credit card on deposit… internet… good luck… only if you are 30 feet from the restrooms… And Captain Andy… wow… lets leave there… to think you go on vacation and to enjoy and have to deal with this character… forget it…

We stayed for months in a row at Wilson’s. It is not your usual luxury RV park and thank god for that. If you want to give it a name it’s a cross between boondocking and having full hook ups.
We love it because they are very generous with their spaces, immediately there if you need help. We initially stayed for a week and then a month that turned into 3 months. Our spot was right on the river, I loved to have breakfast out and watch the birds and see the fog disappear while the park comes to live. It’s quiet, we always have a lovely spot, the dogs swim in the river and Tillamook is close by. What more do you want? The RV spots are kept very clean, maintenance is done every week. There are some permanent residents but most keep their trailer very well.
I have no opinion about the showers or laundry room, simply because I have never been there. There is a nice gated and fenced doggy play area where they can run free.
I am disabled so this spot was very peaceful to me and rejuvenated my spirit. We prefer a park with less rules, that regulates themselves. Wilson definitely fits that bill for us.
I feel I need to give some feedback on what an earlier reviewer, Brian, wrote that there was no place for them even though he made reservations 90 days ahead. This was simply not true. I know because I was there.
When they arrived with their families and their 3 trailers they could have parked downwards towards the river. Instead they choose to park their trailer parallel along the parking space. They nearly nipped the back of our trailer that is indeed parked parallel. You can see the back side of our trailer in their first photo. Not much space left between us. That is because they should have parked lengthwise.
We are the only ones parked that way because we took up 2 RV spots and we have a balcony on the side facing the river. Why did we have 2 RV spots? Because are 42ft long. Would we have been 27ft like the other trailer we also would have parked lengthwise like all others. However this was not possible.
While they were busy for hours trying to squeeze their trailers in I kept wondering why they insisted on parking parallel. I guess we never know.

We reserved our site 90 days prior to our arrival… On the day of our arrival we were informed that they did not have our reservations. We were then told that our site would be right across from the office and that we had PLENTY of space to park our 27 foot trailer. Yeah right! We come to Tillamook every year at this time and have camped here… WE WILL NOT RETURN NEXT YEAR…$ 29 a day for a parking lot? Cape Lookout here we come
