Friendly staff, efficient drive-thru, lots of drive-in spots. Love their cheddar peppers and their endlessly customizable fountain sodas. A few more healthy options would be good.

I come here every morning for a cherry limeade and the lady Paige that makes my drink knows what she doing! Her drinks are so delicious! She knows all her customers and has great customer service. I would highly recommend cherry limeades!

Pretty sure my husband and I both got sick from their breakfast burritos. They weren’t happy about giving our water either. Never again.

Burgers suck. Tots are great. Slushy are awesome. Hot dogs are overpriced. Service is always great

Hmmmmmm… the patio doesn’t open until 10:30am when there are no cars in sight for the drive through and the store opened at 7:30am. The employee informed me of this over the ordering speaker, and promptly went back to what ever they were doing before. I’m assuming texting or something. I could give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were doing prep work or something, but I know better than that.

This place use to be good. The last two visits we ended up driving away. Waited in the drive-thru for 5 minutes. No one acknowledged we were there. Other lane experienced the same thing. Saw three cars leave because of the wait. We pulled into one of the canopy spots and still couldn’t get help! I can see this happening once, but twice is not good. Appears to be bad management. Overall the service has gone down the past few months. Sad because we really liked to go here. Have to stop because of the frustration of waiting and not getting helped.

What an underwhelming night. I can’t blame the restaurant, just the circumstances which led to this. Poor planning. It was Tigard High’s grad night. Sonic’s management didn’t plan/staff well and we were waiting close to half an hour for car side service tonight. People were actually homing(rude behavior, by the way). Several people just drove away. It’s a fast food joint, what can I say? If it’s judged against other restaurants by fast food standards I guess it’s good. Tip/note: their spicy chicken isn’t spicy at all. I could taste the ground black pepper more than I could whatever hot sauce they breaded it with.

I generally stay away from fast food, except McDonald’s Egg McMuffin on occasion. I saw my dentist today and was starving when I left. I stopped by Black Rock and on the way out of the parking lot(which it shares with Sonic) I decided what the hell, I have only eaten at Sonic once before when the Hillsboro location opened. I pulled into one of the stalls where you order and they bring it out to you on skates. I studied the menu and noticed there is really very little food, it is mostly drinks and sugary crap which I won’t eat, desserts, ice cream and the like. I finally decided on the regular cheeseburger and a mini onion ring(supposedly the onion rings are handmade), whatever they are from Cisco I can guarantee you. My lunch was delivered by a young man on roller stakes. The onion rings were indeed very hot and fresh but for sure out of a bag. The burger was OK, nothing special, underseasoned, wished I had asked for salt. One thing I did notice was that they have a nice covered outside eating area which looks pretty inviting and I imagine would be fun in the summer. Overall it was meh, not sure I would ever voluntarily go there again, unless it was an emergency such as today when I needed to eat right fucking now.

Hailing from California, I had always had the pleasure of enjoying those silly Sonic ads yet there was no Sonic around to be had. I definitely put it on a pedestal. We used to stop by one on the way home to Portland from the river in the summers, but then we moved and realized there was one right in our backyard. It became a regular thing. It was kind of a problem. I love ordering through the little box and sliding my card and being helped by servers in skates! Our regular order was 2 fire island chicken sandwiches with tots, 1 chili cheese dog, mozzarella sticks, chicken strips, berry lemonade slushie drinks, and a side of chili(for the tots). The servers always knew it was us from the side of chili and they were always super attentive and nice. It was always delish, but then one day the fire island chicken sandwich was no longer on the menu board. We still continued to order it and they made it happen even though it would take a while longer, which they would tell us in advance. We had no problem with that. One time we got home and bit into the sandwich and it had the strangest texture. The chicken meat was almost crunchy and rubbery. It totally ruined it for me. We pretty much stopped going because it freaked me out. If we go, I get a burger instead. I still miss ordering through the box, tots, and skates. I would still recommend it, but stick to the shown menu!

Food is not great. unless you enjoy flavorless meat patties drowned in way too much condiments, topped with soggy buns. No, don’t go for the food. go for the drinks. Happy hour 2 – 4, half price slushies. zillions of yummy flavors and you can get nerds candies in them! Green apple is my favorite! Perfect sugar bomb on a hot summer day.

Its fast food and not bad for fast food at that. We don’t do drive through that often but I will say they have a lot of options and decent prices. They might have won me over also with tots…

Honestly not all that great. Don’t get lured in by the commercials. I went on a White Castle mission and was only satisfied by their slushes. Not worth the drive if your not around here. Your homies won’t be satisfied.

Here’s the thing, I mostly hate fast food. Do I really have to explain why? Oh ok. Mostly its just not delicious. Add GMO etc on top of that, just meh. And not local, sustainable. …you know. I’m one of THOSE. But I was on this stretch of highway 99 having not eaten breakfast with a day of meetings still ahead of me… I had to eat. Enter the Janet lunch fallback: the grilled chicken sandwich with bottled water. So I got that here. Allegedly on a whole wheat bread bun(um no) it was slathered with mayo(so much for my health) with a smushed pile of shredded iceberg(gross) and two not half bad slices of tomato. The chicken was breast meat in a rectangle with a little browning and no flavor at all. Yum.(Not). I expected Dasani water but got Sonic Wave water. Uh huh. The water was fine. This is where I went wrong. I pondered tater tots and landed on «ched’r peppers». This was a $ 3 purchase of 4 chile pepper wedges with American(not cheddar) cheese smashed on top enrobed in a bready crumbly, deep fried coating. They came with ranch dressing. In a little packet. I had hopeful visions of these jalapeño poppers I used to eat at a dive bar in Yuma with my Latino guy friends. Dunked in salsa and ketchup per tradition and chased with beer(oh ok and shots of tequila) they were charred chile explosions of heat and cooling cream cheese or gooey cheddar and crispy coating in my happy, probably inebriated mouth. Nope. These were not them. What a let down. Yes. Im delusional. I know. Anyway. Service from a teen at the window was perfunctory, and my favorite part of my lunch was the mint in my bag. It was good. Peppermint but with a butter mint texture. Yeah. Not likely to try THAT again.

This sonic is always fast and the employees are super nice. Even when it is busy in the drive thru, they do their best to deliver items to the cars even before they are at the window. That way you get it hot or cold, depending :) They have a great happy hour on drinks. The shakes are seriously delicious! Banana is a favorite, followed by Peanut Butter Cookie. It’s really not good that we live walking distance to the Sonic because we go more often than we should. Overall, the great customer service makes this particular Sonic a pleasure to visit.

The food was good, and it was brought to our car fast! What we absolutely hated was the people that lure this venue. Trashy trashy people, smoking right by the car. We had to close our windows so we wouldn’t barf from the cigarette smell.

I grew up in Tennessee where Sonics are everywhere. So for fastish food this is one of my favorites. My husband and I came here for lunch before heading to Winco for groceries. I ordered the snack size spicy chicken bites with sweet potato tots. My husband got a chili dog and an order of the cheddar peppers. Good thing we had shopping to do, so we could walk off some of the yummy calories we ate.

I had the good fortune and good timing to be at the Grand Opening of newest Sonic Drive In to invade the Portland area. It was all shiny and had that«new Sonic» smell to it. The drive thru was still bright white concrete, no burn out marks or oil slicks. Employees were everywhere, on foot, on roller-skates and standing directing traffic. It was rather exciting in a weird, chain fast food place way. I defy even the most cynical anti-chain persons to not find something they enjoy at a Sonic Drive In. For nothing more than the drink selection alone I would gladly detour a few miles out of my way. The burgers are above average, the special sandwiches are indeed special, some even on Texas Toast. Best part is, you can choose fries or tater tots. Go for the tots. I like the idea of there being a cheap lunch option that feels so out of the ordinary. I like that I am yet to see a disgusting bathroom at a Sonic(except for one time in Deming, New Mexico, but I hate Deming!). I like having a lot of choices. I like Sonic.
