Every step of the way Paulson’s made it easy. They were prompt, professional, and VERY competitively priced. The installers did such a great job. They were professional and personable and by far did the best install job I’ve ever had done.

Worked with Bret. Hard worker orchestrated several strong subcontractors to get this job set up with just a few days notice. He did this just before leaving for vacation with us, his customer, as the prime focus. Very impressive service, great product, excellent price!

This would be a zero star review if possible. Terrible selection, poor customer service, AND they’re refusing to install my counters and flooring due to non payment, even though I paid 4 months ago and they cashed the check.
Do not purchase from them, you will regret it.

The carpet and install team were punctual and professional, sensitive to working around us and considerate of the furniture they were moving. We went to Paulson’s to look at new carpeting when their Karistan Carpet was on sale. We were greeted by Dave Shelton, the store manager. We were shown many kinds of carpet by Dave. At no time did we feel high-​pressured, as we did at some of Paulson’s competitors.
Once we decided on the carpet we wanted, everything went very smoothly. We were given a choice of dates for the installation. The two-​man team of professional installers was wonderful. They worked very hard to make sure that everything was done the way we wanted it done. They worked hard to please us. How refreshing to deal with people who care.
We could not have had a better experience than our purchase of carpet at Paulson’s in Tigard, and our dealing with Dave Shelton. We could not be happier with our new beautiful Karistan Carpet! Thank you, Dave, and Paulson’s in Tigard!!! You are fantastic!

My wife and I recently purchased a home, and we needed to replace the carpet before we could start to move in (there were way too many odd unknown stains covered up by furniture and the carpet was stretched out so much it looked like an ocean with all the waves!). We wanted to install quality carpet in a short amount of time, and other companies (including Home Depot’s flooring dept) were completely inflexible with their scheduling and installation times.
We contacted Paulson’s via the Costco website, and we promptly received a call the next day to schedule a measurement for the home.
After connecting with Paulson’s via Costco, we were put in touch with Kathy Havens, and that is when our luck turned around with scheduling. She was completely accommodating to our needs, especially for time because we wanted the carpet installed as soon as possible. The day Kathy was to come out and help us pick out some carpeting, our car broke down! Instead of rescheduling, Kathy was able to drive out to the MAX station where we were waiting for a tow truck and we were able to pick out our carpet right there!
After we ordered the carpet, we were told that it takes an average of four weeks before the carpet is installed. Kathy told us she would do her best to get the carpet installed before Christmas, which was now less than three weeks away. When we got in contact with the scheduling representative, she was able to schedule the installation for the Teusday before Christmas! This allowed my wife and I to get all of our moving out of the way while we had extra time off from work, and was incredibly convenient for us!
I would have rated this five stars, and there was no problem with the Paulson’s employees at all! They were all incredibly kind, easy to get in touch with, and accommodating to our needs.
The one thing that wasn’t five star service were the installers themselves. The day of the carpet installation, the workers were scheduled to come out between 9 and 930am, and my wife took time off from work so she would be able to let them in. At about 9:30, we contacted Paulson’s, who didn’t know what was going on (they thought the installers had already arrived) and went to contact the installers. They were able to get in touch with the workers, however they were informed that the workers were still loading their truck.
At about 10:00am, the workers arrived at our BILLING address instead of the address of the home that needed new carpet. The installers finally arrived at around 10:45am to start working. We asked them to keep in contact with us because I would be coming home from work early to sign off on the work. MY wife was informed that the work would be done at «3pm no problem.»
At about 4:30pm, I contacted the workers to ask how things were going and about when they would be done, and when I called the first thing that the installer said was:
«Amigo do you need us to do anything because we are trying to work here»
After that, I told them that I would be stopping by the house at about 5:00pm to check on the work (I was told that I would be called when they were done). I was on the way over, stuck in traffic, and at 5:05pm the installers called me asking where I was because they were done and waiting for us to arrive and sign off. I told them I was in traffic and I would be there ASAP. I received another call shortly after, again asking when we would be here because I said I would arrive at five. Again, I told them that I was stuck in traffic, and there was nothing I could do to get there faster.
When I finally arrived at the house, the installer tried to get me to pay him $ 40 for the time he spent waiting for us.
The installation was a quality job, however the people were very unprofessional and even outright rude.
Overall, I rate Paulson’s with 5 stars, but the actual installers 0 stars.
Other than the actual carpet installers, who were incredibly unprofessional and I hope they aren’t actually a part of Paulson’s, the people at Paulson’s were great at their service! We were completely satisfied with their service and we would definitely use them again!

We’ve had Paulson’s do a couple projects in our homes. Both times we worked with Guy Miller in getting the best pricing and recommendations.
In 2014 we got some tile – which we had our own contractor install. We also had some LVT installed (16“x16″ Armstrong Alterna). Their contractors did a great job on installation and did not need to return to fix the grout which is a common problem with these type of installs. It has happen to us on 2 of 3 installs for LVT with grout.
In 2015 we bought a house and redid all of the carpet with Shaw (Anso BCF Nylon) and Mohawk (Signature Series, SmartStrand) flooring. We also had some LVT (once again 16×16 Armstrong Alterna) installed in our Laundry room. Guy helped us pick the right carpets once we provided him an idea on what we were looking for – good quality, long lasting. The big thing for us was getting it measured and installed before we moved in (limited time). Guy was able to get us into the schedule and get this done on time. Our house is 2800sqft with stairs that were redone with carpet. We spent just under $ 11k for all materials and installation (probably close to 1800sqft of carpet and LVT). I don’t recall any out gassing of the carpet after the install. Previously we had some DreamWeaver carpet (Polyester) installed in our old house and it smelled for several days – the DW carpet was about $ 1-​$ 2 a square foot cheaper. Be forewarned that some carpets ARE much better and give off less odor than other brands. I felt we got a good deal on the installation and pricing for a quality product.
I’m giving ⁴⁄₅ stars (not 5 out of 5) because of a few nitpicking items. Part of this is because an experience I’ve had working with another flooring store (Macadam Floor and Design). Paulson’s or maybe Guy, does measurements and paperwork the old way — tape measure, pen and paper. You will need to be patient for both of these. Macadam sent different person out to measure and they used an ipad and laser measuring which took half the time as traditional method. Paulson’s gives you a total, rolled up cost and Macadam breaks everything down. Paulson’s did break it down for me per yard of install but didn’t break out install cost, padding, carpet. It just gives you more insight into how much things cost in case you want to make an up/​down grade on something like padding. In the end cost difference between the two places are very close it really might depend on your timeframe and if one place has the flooring you want. On the installation we had the LVT done first and it ended up having some cracks in the grout so I had to do a callback to get that sorted out. For carpet installation they were able to do whole house (empty) in one full day. The installation is pretty good although there are 1 – 2 areas that could have been stretched/​seamed better. There was also a closet that was missed in first measurement. We had to wait another 3 – 4 weeks to get installed after we moved in – since it was only a closet it wasn’t a big inconvenience other than the installers were late to the appointment when wife wanted to leave delaying her errand. One other item is that I did provide installers with some nails to hammer down any flooring with creaking sounds. They probably did this in a few locations but there are several in our bedroom that were not done. I realize it is hard to get all «bad spots» and maybe my expectations were too high. In hindsight it would have been best for me to stick around during installation and fix the creaking when carpet was removed myself.
Bottom line is I would use Paulson’s again and have Guy be my salesperson. I worked with Guy in the store, online (he does respond to e-​mails) and on the phone.

We had to have our bathroom Vinyl replaced after we had a water leak in our bathroom. We went to Paulson’s for the Vinyl, we were so fortunate to have a professional and responsible salesman by the name of Hawaiian Brian provide us with exceptional service. We had the bathroom Vinyl installed on Monday, September 14, 2015 and were so fortunate to have another great employee from Paulson’s do the installation, his name is Dave Hogue with great work ethic and exceptional customer service.
Thank you Paulson’s for having such great employees. My husband and I are grateful for your help.

The salesman, Guy was honest, straight forward and very helpful. We couldn’t ask for more. No wasting time and efforts.
The installers, Ariel & Jesus went to work immediately. They didn’t take breaks and worked till finished for the day. They modeled the ideal work ethic. I would want employees like them! Paulsons’ you have a gem in those two.

worst service ever, staff is not patient at all to answer question, keep customer holding on the phone.

We contacted Paulson’s via the Coscto flooring program. The first time I contacted them through Costco’s website I heard nothing back, but apparently the second time’s a charm… Someone called and emailed me and came out to my house. Sadly, the only carpet options she showed us would have cost us $ 4,000 (cheapest option) or $ 5,000 (her recommended option). Having no idea what carpet should actually cost, we were considering it and asked to see a few more color samples. No answer. I reached out again. No answer.
Assuming Paulson’s didn’t want our business, we took a trip to Lowe’s. We are now buying high quality carpet and carpet pad in the perfect color for under $ 1,800.
Not only is the communication from Paulson’s insufficient, they apparently take advantage of people who haven’t purchased carpet before and do everything they can to up-​sell.

I have used Paulson’s with their employee, Kathy Havens, for several jobs at a couple of houses on the Oregon Coast. Kathy has been wonderful to work with and is so pleasant and professional. The products are usually from Costco buying and so I know that both Costco and Paulson”s will stand behind my order. I have ordered carpet and vinyl and am very happy with the products and installation.
The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is because, they are very busy and she works hard so sometimes the paperwork takes a little longer. But I like things with quick turnarounds and so that is not easy to always meet my deadlines.
Great service, friendly helpful people. I will use them again for some window coverings this fall.

The job was done fairly well however the after the sale contact and after the sale follow up was totally non existent from Paulson’s sales force. We have asked 3 times for a small additional job and were ignored. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone, because after the sale you are on your own as a customer.

We had a laminate floor done by Paulsons in June 2014. They were super easy to deal with and easy to schedule work etc. Once completed though, the problems started.
When moving a vanity in our bathroom we removed a piece of the baseboard and discovered they had shot a nail through the baseboard and into a water line. I hate to think what would have happened if we hadn’t moved the vanity and the pipe slowly leaked over God knows how long. Since it was on the first floor, it would have leaked into floor or under the house. They did pay to have a plumber come out and fix it. but in reality it shouldn’t have happened at all since it was pretty obvious there was a water line there (they shot it right below the hot/​cold output lines the faucet hooks up to). About 3 months after that the nose piece on our stair detached. The piece itself is not broken it was just not attached well. When I called about this problem I was told someone from installation would call me to setup a time to fix it. Then of course weeks passed and I finally followed up again. Maybe someday we’ll get it fixed. Overall a very negative experience with poor customer service, poor workmanship and I would never use them again.

Working on improving service in my own industry, makes me more selective on who I do business with. Paulson’s is LUCKY to have Carol Merrifield. She has been the most patient and understanding representative that I’ve dealt with in a long time. Our home closing was delayed, financing was sticky and then we couldn’t decide on a product. Carol was supportive and patient throughout the process. So happy we chose Paulson’s!

Our rental condo in Bethany Village was in serious need of new carpeting… you know, the OEM stuff from 13 years and 3 tenants ago just wasn’t NICE anymore?
Thanks to a referral from our property manager Jessica, we had a great experience with Tyler at Paulson’s. He sent their estimator Don out with a couple carpet samples to choose from, and Don took his measurements within 10 minutes. Tyler took my card over the phone, coordinated the order and scheduling with nary a hitch. In fact, I asked Tyler on Thursday if they could squeeze in the install the following Monday… lo and behold, he rearranged schedules to make it happen!
I unlocked the front door for the install guys at 7:45 Monday morning, and when I returned to lock up, it was beautifully done. No complaints from a satisfied landlord!

Carol helped us find the right flooring to fit our budget and make our home beautiful. From the professional in-​home measurement to the swift installation, we will go back to Paulsons for our next remodel.

We have worked with Paulsons for 4+ years for our property management and real estate business. We’ve had them install wood flooring at our own personal home, refinish floors at our new home along with a ton of tile work. There prices are competitive and Tyler and Ryan the owners are awesome to work with. They respond quickly when I have questions and all of their guys are good at what they do and sensitive to our needs while in our home. We have 3 young children and have found other companies don’t seem to care as much about working around our schedules. I would HIGHLY recommend Paulsons if you want it done right the first time. I’ve referred them to all of our friends and all have had the same experience. Definitely 5 Stars

Wow, looking at all the Paulson’s Flooring reviews on Unilocal and other sites it doesn’t surprise me that their overall satisfaction rating is poor. Guess what? Here’s another customer with a terrible experience.
I’m having to fight with them right now because they won’t honor their warranty claim on a new home that I had built a year ago through Waverly Homes in Vancouver, WA. They did the hardwood floor in my house, and nearly a year into the home some of the wood planks are coming up — no big surprise there. That is to be expected. What wasn’t expected was the horrendous Customer Service and rude attitude from their warranty administrator Gary (I believe that was his name)
I submitted a warranty claim through my home builder and they sent it to Paulson’s. Shortly after I receive a call from this Gary guy so I can explain to him my issue. He seemed shocked and taken back that the flooring could POSSIBLY be coming up. The general attitude he had with me on the phone was that I, the customer, was either lying or didn’t know what I was talking about. Strike #1.
I finally scheduled a date for them to come out, and told him I would be out of town and would have my partner at home who would be available. Well, due to unforeseen circumstances we had a family tragedy come up the morning of the appointment and my partner had to take care of that while I was away on my business trip. All of these things were unknown to me. Paulson’s showed up and of course we missed our appointment due to the family tragedy. This Gary guy called me later that afternoon and proceeded to be extremely rude about missing my appointment. I told him that I just found out no one was home because of this, and that it was a horrible family tragedy and that I would like to reschedule. He said for me to call him back when I was in town, but I proceeded to tell him NO and that I could reschedule with him right now on the phone. He started to get really defensive and rude with me saying that he couldn’t right now and I would need to call back when I have my personal issues taken care of because he doesn’t have his contractors schedule available, etc etc. I proceeded to get a bit snippy and told him to call me back when he had his schedule available because it’s a WARRANTY claim and therefore it’s their responsibility to fix my flooring. Yes, I’ll admit I was being a little fiesty but I was having to deal with this family issue from 3,000 miles away and didn’t need some contractor being rude to me. Strike #2
The final strike that broke the camel’s back was nearly a month after waiting for this guy to call back, he takes the easy way out and tells the warranty administrator at my home builder that they won’t come out again unless I pay a $ 150 missed appointment charge. I understand that they have to pay people, I really do. But they are completely unwilling to work with me even after I can prove to them what happened to my family (it was on the news). Nothing was ever provided to me stating there would be a $ 150 appointment charge. Strike #3.
As it stands, this company is completely unwilling to honor their warranty. I would recommend NEVER doing business with these despicable people — EVER.
