Had tub refinished, 3 months later coating started to peel. Called for repair have had two no shows, and multiple cancelations. Never answers phone or returns calls. First time I have ever written a review on Unilocal. Please find another company, the lifetime warranty is not worth it.

I couldn’t agree more with the previous negative review. Now this wretched Chris Botsford is operating Castlerock. I guess the negative reviews from Blackrock and, when I hired him, Whiterock was enough to change his business name again. When I made the appointment he was all cheerful and made a huge deal about the lifetime warranty and I thought, ‘well, I’ll pay a little more than the other quotes for peace of mind’. Immediately after he left I noticed a mark, and the next day I realized that the texture was bumpy in some areas, rough in others, and smooth in a few. So started the insanely difficult endeavor of getting him back to fix the mistakes. My husband called him about 10 times, once making an appointment but he was a no-show. He called Chris again, and it went to voicemail, so I thought that perhaps he’s now avoiding his calls. So I called and he picked up, all cheerful since he thought he was getting a new customer, I suppose. He came back, did an entire second application, and now, as you can see from the photos, it looked atrocious mere weeks later and have gotten worse.

We were in the process of selling our home and needed to do a little fixing up. Among other things our realtor recommended white rock refinishing to come out and refinish our bathrooms. Our 2 bathtubs and the tile walls were just to worn out to keep clean anymore. I was a little hesitant because I didn’t know about refinishing or how much it cost. We had them come out and give us an estimate. They took us through the whole process of cleaning, repair and refinishing. They said it would look like a brand new bathtub and tile when they were done. They were very nice and seemed very knowledgable and more than that the price was way cheaper than replacing everything. We went ahead and scheduled them. They actually came out on a weekend because me and my husband both work. It took them almost the whole day but they got everything done. I was blown away !! As promised everything looked and shined as good as new. I actually had my neighbor come over and look at it. He thought we had it all replaced and was shocked when I told him it was refinished. Anyway, I have no complaints. White rock refinishing was a pleasure to deal with. They exceeded my expectations and would definitely recommend them to anyone and actually already have.

Turns out Chris at Whiterock Refinishing has changed his company name multiple times to get away from bad reviews. Check out«Blackrock Refinishing» and Acrylic Coat or something like that. Also he uses odd Mailboxes Etc. addresses. And another thing — the Best of Angie’s List badge he has on his website is false! I called Angie’s List to complain and they told me he’s never been a contractor and he’s been blocked for illegally using their name to market his business. We had a very bad experience with Chris and Whiterock Refinishing. Here is a list of problems: 1. We paid $ 2000.00 for our 2 bathrooms to be «refinished» with a lifetime guarantee and 2 new shower doors. We have a plastic base in our master shower but Chris promised it would look like new or he would make it right. 2. He sprayed the tile and plastic basin(our house smelled like a toxic wasteland for a week) and installed the shower doors. BUT the master shower door was an inch taller than our tile! It looks ridiculous. I called Chris the same day he installed and he agreed to purchase a new shower door and install it. He never kept his promise on this. 3. A few weeks after the refinishing our shower soap dish started to crack and peel. AND the plastic basin didn’t hold the refinishing because the old stains showed through. 4. Called and texted Chris about the peeling, shower door and stains on the plastic basin and he let me know he had family issues and wouldn’t be available for a month. 5. A month goes by and I contact him again. He sets an appointment to come look at the problem but doesn’t show. I texted and called him several times. No answer. He made quite a few promises and never kept them and did not abide by the«lifetime warranty». 6. I contacted the BBB and Angie’s list to ensure others are aware of their lack of service, poor product and false advertising of a lifetime warranty. Update 5⁄21: Our second bathroom is now peeling as well and we are having to completely redo everything. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.
