Thousand Oaks Cab

Wish I’d checked Unilocal first! Aweful, offensive service. I called the night before to arrange a cab for 8am. At 8:10 I called them at 8:10 that morning, dispatcher said they already picked me up (I checked with myself and obviously I was still standing in my house!). In my next call, the dispatcher said the driver is 10 minutes away due to heavy traffic. Not that that’s my problem to begin with, but it was a holiday and I checked that all the freeways were light. Yet another 10 – 12 minutes later another driver calls me and says the first driver’s car broke down. Upon arrival at my house, the second driver actually argued with me about the dispatcher being «right» when she told me the mixed messages, and that it was the first driver trying to cover himself. Like I cared what the excuses were! Why was he even arguing with me at all instead of apologizing for his company?!? I’d give this company a big zero if I could.

How are these people still in business? I have the same complaint. I called at 6:30pm to request a can for 7:30. No one shows up so I call. They’re first excuse is the driver got another call, we’ll send another he will be there in 4 minutes. 10 minutes later still no cab, I call again, again they say 4 minutes and give me the drivers #(I’m not gonna call him). So i wait…15 minutes later still no cab. By 8:15 I realize no cab was ever on its way and I had to find another ride. The dispatchers lied and were not friendly or helpful. I will never call this company again.

Worst ever. I can’t believe I still call this number. The number has always been memorized by me since a long time before we had other cab companies.
I’ve had the same terrible service late nights as the other reviewers. Lies by the office lady that takes the calls. You call and they say 15 minutes. You call 30 minutes later and they say 15 minutes. This goes on for an hour and a half until you finally call someone else and the new company shows up within 10 minutes. Art Taxi blows them away.

Very bad experience using this service. Driver was 5 hours late and was very rude. Got into a huge fight with him. I ended up calling the police and he got arrested. This happened about 3 weeks ago. The taxi service went out of business 1 week ago. Don’t even try calling these horrible people.

We called Thousand Oaks Cab Co./Yellow Cab Co (they are the same company, by the way) and were told the taxi would arrive within 20 minutes. 50 minutes later I called and asked where the taxi was as it had not yet arrived. I was told «9 minutes» and held them to their word as it was such a specific time to quote. Silly me!
15 minutes after my last phone call Thousand Oaks Cab Co had STILL not arrived. I called the lady dispatcher once again and she said in an exasperated tone that all times are an estimate.
I completely understand the necessity of quoting estimates in many businesses but there is a large difference between 20 minutes and 65 minutes (and still no taxi). in this case 20 minutes no longer falls in the category of an estimate; its just unacceptable. I related this to her and she promptly slammed the phone down on me in mid-​sentence.
If she had been honest and said they were busy and it might take an hour I could, and would have, had dessert and waited patiently.
After her outright lies and rudeness I called another taxi company who told me 20 – 30 minutes. As we were waiting for this new company the original taxi arrived an hour and twenty-​five minutes after our original call and we declined out of principal to accept the ride. The new taxi company arrived a few minutes later, completely within their estimated time of arrival!
Will Thousand Oaks Cab Co ever learn proper customer service and ethical business practices? Or will they go out of business once they have alienated all their potential clientele? After our experience and viewing the ratings on this site, I cant imagine they’ll be in business much longer.

Never ridden with them but spent a couple minutes avoiding the idiot while he was texting and driving in the fast lane on the 118. Stay away from these fools.

I was blown away how terrible this service was.
I had made a reservation with TO Cab Co to take me from Newbury Park to Oxnard airport at 5:30 am. I went with a local company, vice going with Super Shuttle or any of the other national companies. When the taxi didn’t show up at the scheduled pick up time, I called the company. They said they’d call the cab and get back to me. After 5 min, I called them back because they never called me. The dispatcher said they couldn’t get in touch with the cab. She said she was going to dispatch another cab and call me back. After 10 minutes of waiting, I called back. Now the dispatcher tells me the closest cab is 30 minutes away (is TO really that big?). I cancel the call and drive myself to Oxnard. While I hope this is an isolated event, 1^st impressions count. I’ll never use the company again.
