PawVille Pups Rescue

I’m saddened to see so many 1 or 2 stars. I must have been another lucky one to receive a cutie. My puppy Mabel, I love and is doing great. I’ve had her since September 2014 and she’s 7 months now and is doing great. I loved this organization and I’m so sorry to hear so many people have had horrible experiences. I have not, again, I am completely happy with the puppy I adopted. I hope others might give them a try again. Stuff happens in life, and they are a good organization to deal with.

Dead Puppy.
We adopted a puppy over a year ago for my son’s birthday. To make a long story short, the puppy was deathly sick and after an enormous vet bill, not to mention extreme trauma to my young son, died. The Pawville people blamed me for the cause of death accusing me of exposing the puppy to bats, and not taking the puppy to their «special» vet — seriously!!! I didn’t ask for a refund of the adoption fee or vet bill compensation because I just wanted to forget this horrible thing ever happened to me and my family. I wish I saw these Unilocal reviews prior to contacting Pawville. This is not a legitimate «rescue» organization; they are breeding puppies and ripping people off — But worse than that is the pain and trauma they cause to families. These people should be criminally prosecuted.

this so-​called «rescue» is a complete disgrace and doesn’t even deserve one star!!! DO NOT ADOPT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! as far as I’m concerned, this place doesn’t even seem like they are even a rescue or want to save lives! they are letting their puppies DIE one after another. they were previously known as «wagville puppies» go check out those reviews while you’re at it too. They changed their name to the now «pawville pups» because everyone was catching onto them selling puppies with parvo!!! I follow many rescues to know that puppies can unfortunately get parvo, it happens. but this «rescue» has sold dozens of puppies with the parvovirus.
My family recently adopted a puppy from them (who apparently had her first round of shots, had been de-​wormed and had the parvo vaccination) and 4 days later she died. When they had first initially called Beverly to let her know that they puppy was very sick, Beverly said she would take the puppy to «her vet» and get treatment. Meanwhile, while they had the puppy, Beverly was extremely vague as to give my family any sort of information and/​or updates of the puppy that next morning. They «didn’t know what was wrong» said she probably had underdeveloped liver, and assured my family that two parvo tests were given and both were negative and she would call my family back in a half hour with an update (this was day two of them having her). Well she NEVER CALLED. My family at this point was fed up and extremely worried and called her to get info of where their puppy was so they could pick her up and take her to their own trusted vet. and this was at 5:30 pm-​Beverly said she would call them in 30 min at about 9:30 am. Beverly refused to give my family ANY information of the location or the name of the vet because it was «patient confidentiality» which is such BS. That is THEIR puppy. After hours of fighting with her for info (and her saying repeatedly there was still not update) they finally got the number to the vet. And called him and left a message. Meanwhile we also emailed Beverly telling her we wanted our puppy back. Shortly after this happened, the phone rings, and it’s Beverly. Screaming at my dad because we called the dr and emailed her «over and over and over» which is also not true. We emailed her once and left one message for the dr. To top this all off, while screaming at my dad over the phone, she then says «oh and by the way, your puppy died this morning» and hung up on him!!! Shortly after that the dr calls us. And said that their puppy died that morning of PARVO!!! Beverly lied to us!!! And never even called us to tell us our puppy had died that morning!!! She just kept saying «still no update and we don’t know what’s wrong with her» WE had to do all the leg work to find out what was wrong with our puppy and try and get any update we could. This lady is heartless! My family just lost their brand new puppy and that’s how she tells them??? By screaming at my dad and notifying him of the fact 10 hours later??? Beverly has NO right to be owning a «rescue» rescues save lives, she’s killing them. On top of that, the couple of days my dad had her, our friends brought over their dogs and now all have to get tested for parvo and worms (did I mention she also had worms). Because she lied to us. She put so many other lives at danger as well. This place needs to be shut down. So please, if you are thinking of rescuing an animal, do NOT adopt from pawville. Spare yourself the nightmare and heartache. RIP sweet Shiloh. I wish we could have given you the life you deserved.

This is not a real rescue. We rescued a puppy three years ago when they first started out. They made us meet them in a parking lot which is very strange. We had to give cash only. No proof of shots or deworming as they claim. They give the shots and it’s not done by a vet. They do not take any of their dogs to a real vet. We were lucky our dog did not have parvo however infested with worms and took two rounds of meds and sanitizing to rid. Our dog was also very unsocialized. She would not walk on grass and scared of the world. I swear she was kept in a cage. They also claimed she was 10 weeks old and according to the vet she was 5 months. They are a very dishonest people. They do not care who adopts the dogs as long as they get their money. A real rescue will spay and neuter. How can they be a real rescue allowing adoptions without the dogs being spayed or neutered?
There are also no home checks. Do not adopt from them! They are not a legitimate rescue and there are so many other wonderful rescues. These people need to be shut down because this can not be legal!

I am now sorry for removing my prior review regarding our dog that had Parvo from this place. Two years ago we went through this nightmare, and the rescue owner told me it was because my dog was placed in a kennel temporarily, while they we out of town. Now I come back and see all these reviews with more horror stories, I’m so sorry for taking my prior review down. Caution, this shelter seems to be contaminated. And the owner will harass you for a really long time if you post a bad review. And yes, looks like they used to be wagville, which has similar horror stories of urgently ill puppies. Did I mention they will harass you?

Do not adopt a puppy from these people. The puppy I got was sick died within 2 days because of parvovirus. Even after I informed them about the sick puppy, the rest of the litter was advertised. If one pup has parvovirus then it’s very likely rest of the litter has it too. Those puppies should be quarantined at least instead going to peoples houses and infect their house and other dogs. Parvovirus kills 90 percent of time. You will be very sorry if you get puppies from these people.

Had a very bad experience here. They bring the pup to your house, and charge you $ 300. Plus. Then we found the pup had worms and ticks. Had to pay the vet for all the exams plus meds. Be prepared to spend money on getting your puppy healthy. Unlike other rescues that give u a free vet check.

I don’t understand the bad reviews. My daughter and I adopted 2 puppies yesterday 3÷2÷14 from them. We were never rushed to make a decision. Told we could think about it if we wanted and we paid the adoption fee by check. One puppy (different liters) was vomiting all night and morning today. I called them and they came right down and took her to the Vet. They had a Parvo test done even though the Vet did not think it was indicated. Both pups had their vaccines and deworm late last week. Records were provided to us. My puppy testing weakly positive for Parvo but could be due to the vaccine. They brought our other puppy medicine to play it safe and took my puppy back to their home to care for her. They have called with updates and my puppy is doing fine at the home. Wolfed down food and water and is playing with her siblings. No vomiting. If all is well tomorrow they will bring her back. These people are kind, caring and care very much about these puppies. I can’t recommend them enough.

I got a puppy from this organization on Friday Feb 7. By Sunday morning, Feb 9, the puppy wasn’t eating, was vomiting and had diarrhea. I didn’t want to have to use the emergency clinic (expensive), I thought I could keep the puppy hydrated and take him in to my vet on Monday. I had called her, she told me how to care for the puppy, and we made an appt. for the following day. She said he could have an intestinal parasite infection, or it could be parvo.
Coincidentally, I received a call from Pawville inquiring about the puppy. I said he was very sick, I had called my vet and she said the puppy could have parvo. Pawville said they could pick the puppy up at 1:00 and take it to one of their vets, in the valley or Malibu (I live in Oxnard), so that I wouldn’t have a big vet bill. It was approx. 11:00 at that time. I said ok. But the puppy was getting sicker by the minute so I decided I’d better take her somewhere quick. I called Pawville, got voicemail, and stated that I couldn’t wait, the puppy was too sick, and that I’d call them with an update when I could. (I called back when I returned home from the vet, but got their voicemail. I think they returned my call 1 or 2 days later.)
Well, the puppy does have parvo. The parvo virus is all over my house and yard. I have a beautiful 4 yr old German Shepherd that has been vaccinated, but evidently this strain of parvo is fairly new and most places don’t vaccinate for it. So, after taking the pup to the hospital, I took my GSD in for a CPV vaccination. I spent the rest of the day washing everything the puppy touched and everywhere the puppy went, with bleach. Including my backyard. patio, lawn, everywhere.
The puppy, his name is Archie, was on IV fluids and antibiotics at the Adobe Animal Hospital, which, btw is a great place, I highly recommend it.
He was also riddled with worms, although Pawville said they dewormed him twice. The vet at Adobe said that the medication they used wasn’t effective on the type of worm Archie had. The worms also complicated his recovery from the parvo. My vet bill was $ 2000.00.
Beverly from Pawville called while Archie was in the hospital, apologetic and full of regrets for his illness, but explained that the possibility of parvo is a risk they take when rescuing young puppies. Of course she hadn’t told me this prior to the adoption.
And since the puppy got so sick so quickly, I have to think he was manifesting symptoms before he was given to me. The Pawville people must, by now, be attuned to recognizing parvo symptoms. I know I am.
She refunded my adoption fee. The rescue won’t help with the vet bills because they would’ve treated the puppy at their own vet’s. It was my choice not to go that route. And frankly, one of the reasons I did NOT go that route is that I had a feeling I might not get the puppy back, but instead a phone call saying he was too sick and couldn’t be treated.
He’s doing well, but while he had parvo, his white cell count was so very low he literally had no immune system, which caused him to be susceptible to other infections. He came down with, and is currently being treated for mange, which is also highly contagious. My GSD also had to be treated for mange.
All in all, I don’t think the people running this rescue are very responsible or knowledgeable about dogs, although they seem to be, at first contact. The alternative is that they are unethical individuals who knowingly sell sick animals. Either way, I would NEVER deal with them again.

I adopted my mix pup from Pawville last June. It was an amazing experience-​they were kind and had taken such great care of the puppy before we got him. I’ve recommended them to several people as would adopt from them again in a second!

Do NOT rescue a puppy from Pawville Pups.
I had a very similar experience to Doris R. from Los Angeles. We rescued a puppy from Pawville and the next day she became ill (not eating or drinking and fatigued.) I called Pawville and they said they would take our puppy to their vet & not charge for the service. (I was very worried for the puppy & despite their apparent concern, they were almost two hours late to pick her up.) Pawville informed us that the vet could find nothing wrong with the dog, she was playing with her litter and everything seemed fine. However «just to be safe» Pawville (not the vet) put her on antibiotics. Looking back this is a huge red flag but as first time dog owners, we put our trust in Pawville.
Three weeks later our puppy became ill again around 11 p.m. at night. First thing the next morning we took her to the vet. The vet told us she a) had a parasite even though Pawville had told us she had been de-​wormed and was up to date on shots, and we did not expose her to any other dogs or public areas and b) our puppy was seriously ill. We had to take her to a specialist where she was diagnosed with heart failure, likely caused by a virus. We had to put her down within a few hours due to her intense suffering & the vets assurance that she would not make it.
This experience was devastating for us. It was so horrible to watch our puppy suffer in so much pain and not be able to help. A few weeks after she passed, I contacted Pawville and explained the situation and asked for our $ 180 adoption fee to be returned. I was told «it was not their policy.» I asked Pawville to reconsider given the circumstances and followed up with an email and a phone call but haven’t heard back.
I agree with the other reviewers that state this is a very shady business. I don’t know if my puppy was ever actually taken to Pawville’s vet and I am certain that they misrepresented the puppy’s health to me. It was a horrible experience that I hope others can avoid. I am looking into other ways to report their unethical business practices and encourage others to do the same.

I feel they are extremely shady. They only take cash and have you sign an adoption form that they themselves do not sign, and we never did get our puppy’s papers from them. Our puppy had to be treated for worms… I do not believe that they dewormed him like they claimed. There is no record, that I am aware of, of the adoption. I am umsure if this rescue is even legitimate. I believe they used to go by Wagville Puppies.

The 2 stars are only because I love my puppy so much. But the experience was weird. From the first phone call nothing was clearly explained. I got a call saying they were going to be in my area that same day and they could make a appointment for me. Was not sure what that meant and the lady rudely said they would come to my house. They were an hour late from the time they said they would come. And it was 2 super young girls, i just thought that was not safe to send 2 young girls to a random strangers house. What if I was a creep or even worse. I fell in love with the pup but I just wasn’t 100% sure I wanted him. I felt pushed to hurry and make a decision. The fee was $ 200 cash, which was no explained to me on the phone so i did not have cash on me. Plus i just wasnt sure. They told me the pup had his first set of shots and was dewormed. I did not take him after that first meet. But I did end up agreeing to adopt him a few days later. They met me in a del taco parking lot… And he came with a bed and a few toys. they made me sign a contract that said a lot of stuff that i don’t really remember. He told me I would recieve a copy of the contract in the mail and not sure why but they also did not have his immunization paper work. I questioned that and they made it sound normal, and said they were going to mail me a bunch of adoption paperwork along with the proof of shots and deworming. Well its been 2 weeks and i’ve called, left message, both text and voice and emails and never heard back from anyone. I did not get any paperwork on the puppy. I just thought the adoption fee was $ 200 because they had taken care of all that stuff but after taking him to the vet and finding out he has worms, that was proof he had not been dewormed yet. I love my puppy so much already but I just wish the adoption place would not have been so shady. Makes me question everything they are doing. So if you do adopt from this place, learn from my experience and question everything. Don’t pay a huge fee without getting the paperwork right there. I hope they are really doing the right thing with these puppies and my case was just a fluke. But I am disappointed with not getting calls returned.

I got Laylah from this rescue and It was my very fist adoption! Was the best experience ever– fast and easy! I was beyond excited to learn they travel to Las Vegas too. I would defiantly get another dog from them.

Pawville Pups Rescue has a very straight forward plan: rescue dogs of all ages and find new, permanent homes for them. We recently contacted them about adopting a 9 week old puppy, and the process went as follows:
We met in a public place, as to take away any worries about privacy. We were asked the standard questions about where the dog would be housed, where he would sleep, possible other animals and people he would get to interact with. We signed a contract stating that we would have him neutered (as to reduce the puppy rescue need), and would follow up with his further rounds of shots.
We made a donation to Pawville through their Paypal donation button on their website (on my phone!) and went home with our puppy 20 minutes later. He is an outstanding dog, and reflects tremendously with the outstanding care that Pawville had shown to him.
I cannot recommend these people highly enough, and I hope that the next dog you adopt will come from Pawville.
