Business Owner

Dr. Laura Bucci is a native to California and grew up in the Conejo Valley. She was born and raised right here in Thousand Oaks, where she graduated from La Reina High School in 1996. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry in 2000 from the University of San Diego. Dr. Bucci then received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Case Western Reserve University in 2005.

Following dental school she attended a 2 year General Practice Residency at the VA Sepulveda Hospital where she received advance training in Implants, Cosmetics, Oral surgery, Root canals, Periodontics, and Removable dentures. She has completed a year long Cosmetic «Mini Residency» at the Esthetic Professionals facility as well.

In her free time, Dr. Bucci enjoys skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and long walks with her husband. Having been born and raised in the Conejo Valley, Dr. Bucci feels a strong connection to her community and participates in numerous fund raisers.

I moved to the area a few months back and I’m so glad I found a great dentist. The office has state of the art equipment and a fully paperless process to get you setup as a patient. Dr. Laura explained to me every issue with my teeth, created a plan and was very clear about what and why did I need. She is very gentle and hardly felt any discomfort during my visits. I felt very well taken care of, and they worked with my insurance company without me doing anything other than providing my information. Oh and I love they provided me with headphones and the music of my preference while working on my teeth :)

Best dentist office I’ve ever been to. My first visit was quick and easy. The staff are super helpful and answer all questions no matter how silly they sound. The office space is high tech with Netflix above you to watch whatever you want. No more fill out paperwork either– it’s all on the computer. My second visit was a little off because I waited an hour past my appointment time but they rescheduled for the next week, apologized, and gave me a gift card which was nice. My next appointment was for fillings. I watched my favorite show while they did their thing and it was painless, quick and easy once again. The receptionist is also very friendly and knowledgeable about the billing info when you’re a newbie to insurance on your own. I recommend this place to everyone, especially the young kids just out of college kids not excited about the real world.

Great people! Made an appointment easily. They worked with my previous dentist and insurance to get my information and records. Instead of writing all my information on paper, they had a computer prepared so I could just type it in. The actual check and cleaning was easy. Doctor, hygienist, and assistant are all friendly. Answered my questions and made toothbrush/​floss recommendations. Nice and professional staff. Looking forward to further appointments.

I love getting my check up and cleanings every 6 months. Dr. Bucci is very gentle, explains everything thoroughly and makes sure you understand your treatment needs. I’m not afraid to be a patient anymore :)

Dr Bucci is wonderful! I travel to see her and its always worth it! I went in for a routine cleaning and check and she found a cavity which she promptly fixed. She explained everything and made me feel very comfortable. No pain at all! She is very friendly and her staff is great.

Dr. Bucci is wonderful. Like others, I’m not the biggest fan of going to the dentist however Dr. Bucci and her staff make the experience painless. They are very kind and good at what they do. The office is perfectly clean and not crowded. Very glad I found a great dentist.

Dr. Bucci and her staff are fantastic! I have hated going to the dentist my entire life and although I am still not thrilled to go, Oakwood Dental has made the entire experience a lot better. They are much more painless then others and they are very trustworthy. They let me know that I did not need to do an expensive procedure that another dentist had insisted that I must do.

The Place– It’s on the side of the street and a little tricky to spot, and if you pass Darband Grill you’ve gone too far. On my second pass around I spotted a little side street which led to a plentiful back parking lot… score!
The office itself is a mixed bag… some things look a little older, but some things look fancy and new. The tech seems up to date though, so no complaints where it counts.
The Staff– A smaller office, and staff is fairly nice. Dr. Bucci is on the younger side, very friendly, and is great about explaining everything as she does it… oh, and I had to reschedule a bunch of times– they were very accommodating! Thank you!
The Service– Pretty good. Got out in 1hr and 15, which is a good day by my count. I really enjoyed the water-​pik-​style cleaning (minimal time spent with metal things against my gums, phew) although I’ve had more thorough flossings. I guess that’s alright, most hygienists are too violent for me anyway.
Over all, not bad :)
