Dr Devin Hymas performed catarac surgery in both of my eyes within the past 6 months. I chose Dr Hymas to perform my surgery after meeting with him the first visit. He is very professional, courteous and compassionate. My medical insurance covered Dr Hymas but not the surgical center where he performs the surgery. Because I like and trust Dr Hymas so much, I chose to pay out of pocket for the surgery center both times. The surgical center (Lynn Eye Surgery Center) is also very professional and organized. They made both procedures comfortable and simple. I now have better vision than I have had over the past 15 years. Dr Hymas has given me new life and he is worth every penny. I would not go to anyone else. And a word of thanks to Maria in the office for always taking my phone calls and addressing my needs with a smile and pleasant attitude.

I had Cataract Surgery on both eyes (a month apart) by Dr. Hymas in the last 2 months!
I dislike going to any doctors or even going to a vet with the dog… I especially didn’t want anyone cutting on my eyes… however as they were getting worse so
I had no choice.
Dr. Hymas made it easy… both my wife & I visited 3 or 4 times over a period of months and Dr. Hymas just kept saying …“Don’t rush it… don’t do it until you are completely ready”! He is very friendly & easy going and takes the time to explain all. On the day of the first surgery I reported at 9 or 10am… the surgery was going on one after another… when my turn came the nurses were very sweet and kept reassuring me all will be well… I had a very mild anesthetic which I wasn’t even aware of… I went in and came out without feeling a thing… they said the actual surgery took all of 13 minutes. Next day I could see perfectly out of my right eye… I had no discomfort or any kind of after effects. Of course every case is different… but after the first eye I couldn’t wait to have the second one done. I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Hymas.

I have been seeing Dr. Hymas for many years and have referred all of my friends and family, all of which have been extremely pleased! He is very knowledgable and I feel very confident with my eye care in his hands! His personality is very kind and caring. You won’t be sorry for making this choice.

I had cataract surgery with Dr. Hymas yesterday. I was totally freaked out about somebody messing with my eyes. He did a wonderful job of calming me down and preparing me for the procedure. I was in and out of the procedure in less than 10 minutes. I had one day of semi discomfort. Today, I’m like a new person with incredible vision out of the eye he repaired.
I am very satisfied and highly recommend Dr. Hymas if you have cataracts and want them repaired.

First, and importantly, I am NOT rating Dr. Hymas’s medical care since I did not meet with him. I was a new patient today, and even though I am in the medical/​mental health field, did not try to impress upon the office staff that fact. However, I arrived early, and after waiting over 15 minutes, approached the desk admin person about when I would be seen. She indicated «soon, just waiting for a room.» At that point, approximately 11:45, there was almost no one in the waiting room. Other patients had all been seen, perhaps by other professionals. After waiting another 15 minutes, over 30 minutes to be seen, I informed the staff I was leaving and would not reschedule. I worked with the California Medical Board for over five years, and am very familiar with how physicians practice medicine and what constitutes a fair standard of care. How patients are handled at Dr. Hymas’s office, at least for me today, is sub-​standard care. At the very least, I should have been informed if there was a clinical emergency or he was running late. I won’t be back.

Dr. Hymas is fantastic! He has worked on both my wife and daughter and both of them love him. He is warm and friendly and takes the time to talk and get to know you that most Doctors don’t. Definitely five stars. Whether it’s surgery or just glasses, I highly recommend Dr. Hymas.

Dr Htmas performed cataract surgery on my right eye in December 2014. I found him to be superb in all respects and highly skilled, personable and of the highest calibre. The results were outstanding and I am forever in his debt, but I hope and trust not financially.
And Dr. Hymas even tolerated my abysmal jokes, so I have only the highest respect for his skill, integrity, character and care. He is the best and I am forever grateful.

The receptionist who booked my appt disappointed me when an insurance issue came up and she wouldn’t own up to a mistake she made. I wish she would have just apologized instead of giving me attitude. I almost just canceled the appt but instead I just sucked it up and went. I’m glad I did bcuz as soon as I met the office staff and Dr Hymas I was pleasantly surprised at how nice they all were. Especially Hymas. He was sweet and funny. And of course knowledgable. Awesome that he does Sat hours! So glad I went to him based on just one other Unilocal review!

Once in the middle of the night searching for a snack, I tripped in the kitchen while holding a pair of scissors… and the edge of the blade grazed my eye. I went back to bed in shock hoping that it was just a dream, but it hurt like nothing I’d ever felt before, so I drove myself to the E.R. at Los Robles.
The next morning, Dr. Hymas was able to see me, and I owe my total recovery to him. He is a true class act as a doctor and I am very thankful for his medical expertise during the time it took for me to heal.
Also, he hooked me up with enough Vicodin to get me through the ordeal, God bless him.
