Décor Paint & Wallcovering is a family-​owned and family-​run business that has been in Southern California since 1963. It is a paint and wallpaper store with many specialty products. We carry Kelly Moore & Benjamin Moore paints, especially environmentally friendly products such as the Aura and Natura (Ben. Moore) lines. We also carry over 2500 convenient color sample bottles along with Venetian plasters, faux finish products, and tools. We match all competitors’ paint colors and also custom match stains, which is something that most other stores do not do. We carry an extensive catalog of wallpaper books — one of the largest in Southern California. Fabric samples and some carpet sample books are also something that Décor carries. If you have questions that need answering, we have courteous and knowledgeable staff who will gladly assist you.

Manager

Brandon has been around since he was just two years of age, coming in with his mother Kerry Nelson. Started full time work at the age of 16 working during his summers and school breaks. Has a well rounded knowledge of paint, Faux Finishes, lacquer finishes, epoxy floor coatings, and he is the stores airless and spray equipment specialist!

I really wanted to love this place and went a total of 3 times over several weeks. I went because I wanted guidance on paint color selection and wallpaper.
Every time I went the wallpaper person was:
–there, but not working/​on vacation (this was awkward because she «kind of» helped us but kept repeating that it was her day off, then walking away, then coming back again. Are you working or not?)
–at a wall covering conference (understandable)
–not there (not sure why)
The paint person who helped me one of the 3 times I went (on the other two visit nobody offered to help me at all) seemed to know nothing about paint colors– I think he said he was «filling in» while someone else was out.
Out of 3 visits, you’d think I’d get some kind of help or guidance of some kind. I ended up taking the paint chips from this store and bough paint elsewhere. If I decide to pursue wallpaper, I think I would get more help and service from an online store.

I have remodeled several homes in the Conejo valley and am very particular about my paint and color. Décor Color and Design has the best customer service, help with color choices, quality of paint and suggestions on painters. They have the largest selection of paint colors in the area. If you need help with «that particular color» you are looking for, John the owner is outstanding. When it comes to paint and color suggestions John is better then the best interior decorator! In fact, interior designers come to him! It is still possible to walk into a paint store and get personalized help for your particular needs. They do get busy so be patient or come at an off time.

They have quite possibly the largest selection of wallpaper books in the Los Angeles/​Ventura area. I was pointed to this store by the person I use to hang wallpaper, he said to check it out — that they had most of the new, contemporary wall manufacturer’s books. I was dubious as it is in Thousand Oaks but decided to take a look and he was definitely right. They have a HUGE selection. While I wouldn’t say they have as high end of designers as Walnut Wallpaper they do have a lot and it’s well worth a drive north to take a look.

I had a great experience with John and the rest of the crew at Décor Color and Design. I went in to buy paint for the exterior of my home, and somewhere in the process the gentleman thought I asked for interior paint. Since my painter picked up the paint and I wasn’t home when he put it in the garage, it wasn’t until the next day we realized it was interior paint. I called and spoke to John who was more than accommodating. He charged me the small difference between interior and exterior paint, and had the 20 gallons ready early the next morning. I was very concerned that they would try to stick me with the interior paint, but it took all of 3 minutes to get everything sorted out, and I am a happy customer. I will definitely be back!

I am an interior designer and have shopped here for years for wallpaper. Lin is wonderful! She is very knowledgeable and helpful. Their prices are very competitive and their library of wallpaper books is very extensive.
I recently needed paint for a bathroom. I brought in my tile to find a compatible color. I was at a loss as to what to do. One of the men suggested a color I would have never chosen. I was skeptical, but bought it anyway. The color was perfect.
I recommend Décor to all of my clients.
