Nice Bay Club, though some of the weight machines could use an update. Really nice pool. Really nice basketball court. From the outside, I thought it would be a little bigger – but there’s plenty of open machines inside, so not to worry.
Showers could use an update and the pool could be kept cooler.

I belonged to Spectrum before it became Bay Club, and there are many new changes, and yes, some are still in process. The biggest change besides the new equipment, more varied classes, better qualified instructors, delicious café, is the amazingly friendly and competent staff. I’ve been working with Yvette (personal trainer) since last year, and I couldn’t be happier. I am motivated and feel and look better. Carrie knows Pilates as well as anyone. You can always count on these following people to help you in a friendly and professional way: Anastasia Alexander, General Mgr. Dominique Kabaker and Joey in Sales, Howie, Training Mgr. and Donna. Check it out, you’ll be glad you did!

I want to compliment the staff at the reception desk – my husband and I are at the club seven days a week, and no matter who is on duty or what time it is, we are acknowledged with a big smile and by name. Everyone is always helpful and outgoing and seems to enjoy being there, which is a great way to welcome members and/​or guests. Thanks so much – we really appreciate you!

This facility is beautiful and newly renovated. The staff is warm and welcoming. The gym is all inclusive with lots of classes to choose from. I had a personal training session with Daniel. He was extremely knowledgable and very supportive and encouraging during our session, which I definitely needed after being out of the gym atmosphere for so long. I had a great work out and felt amazing after. I loved the positive attitudes of the staff and the positive, welcoming atmosphere of the club overall.

This review is on the café only… The food is actually good, but they lose one star for price, as it is too expensive for what you get; They also lose a star for service. Never order here if you are in a hurry on your way out… They operate at a snails pace…

I am a new member and had 2 sessions with Yvette and I must say she really knows her stuff. She was so patient and helpful and had a lot of great info about muscle toning and strengthening. When she’s on the floor she’s very willing to help if you need it too. She went the extra mile and I appreciated her very much. I highly recommend her!

Anastasia, I appreciate the offer for a smoothie. Im not there at an hour that I would like one. I’d like to keep conversations public so others may glean from or participate with their suggestions. I’m afraid if you put bigger tvs there instead of individual ones, women get stuck watching sports. I am never watching what my neighbor is. My only suggestions are to swap the working tvs on the non fan machines with the broken ones on the fan machines, buy new cables, monitors and remotes, or buy new treadmills with fans. I would think there is enough in the budget based on the increase in dues new members pay vs grandfathered members to accommodate one of these options? Thank you for your attention and cooperation with this matter.

I like the family feel here and the classes are really great. Spin fills up fast and body pump will leave you sore for a few days! It doesn’t have every convenience and amenity but bay club makes up for it with service and a welcome environment. Thanks for the water and coffee! And for not making me bring my own lock.

So impressed with the Bay Club in TO. I have been here for a month and have easily come in 3.5 out of the 4 weeks I have been a member. The staff is nothing but polite, respectful, helpful and most importantly friendly… I utilize their two full basketball courts daily. My trainers Shaydan Tao and Dan Parker are also amazing! Go see Anastasia or Joey to sign up!

The Bay Club is almost like a resort right by my home. I used to come here when it used to be called Spectrum and it was already a state of the art gym. Now they have changed the entire company to Bay Club and have renovated the place to make it much better. I really didn’t think you can make this place better than it was, but they did.
As you walk in there is a café on the right side which serves really healthy food and drinks. I usually get this type of date shake that I have after working out. It is amazing and so refreshing. They also have complimentary water and coffee throughout the gym. This gym also has a pool, a steam room, a sauna, and a really well maintained locker room which is constantly getting cleaned and getting stocked with fresh white towels.
The weights and cardio area is very big and upon first sight you may think it’s endless. There are also towels there ready for use and are always being restocked. They also have wet scented towels for your hands as you leave the weights and cardio area.
The staff here is also very cool and kind. The best staff member here is Joey the manager. He is just a great guy and he will make sure you are completely satisfied with your membership here and he will help you to find the right membership and training package for you. The best personal trainer here for me is PJ. He is a very knowledgable guy not only about working out, but about nutrition as well which is very important. He will help you reach your goals in no time. Take a few sessions with him and see what I mean.
Overall this gym is amazing and if you want to workout in a good environment where it is clean with lots of amenities this is the gym for you.

Soooooo happy to be back at the best health club in the area. Great new equipment, beautiful remodel of EVERY part of the building– killed it with the upgrades! Plus the constant above and beyond attention the whole staff goes out of their way to show EVERY member is amazing and such a rarity to find! Joey H is the man to see– was stoked to find out he was back taking care of all of the members! PLUS, the manager, Anastasia, is hands down the most caring and involved manager of any establishment– let alone a health club with so many members! Annnnnd the café has the BEST, tastiest, & healthy food of ANY RESTAURANT in town… not the cheapest health club… but not the most expensive… BUT DEFINITELY THE BEST!!! Thanks Joey & Bay Club team for bringing class, quality, & fun back to fitness!!!

I wanted to write an honest review for everyone in the Conejo Valley and beyond about an amazing fitness organization called Bay Club. Health and fitness should be the core of all of our lives. Having worked in the fitness industry and been a member at various upscale clubs for over 35 years, I am familiar with what we all want in a health club.
First off, Bay Club Thousand Oaks is led by the manager, Anastasia who is one of the most engaged general managers I have ever observed. She is a manager of integrity, professionalism and has brought a positive energy to the former Spectrum Club that we all want and need in a health club. She is creating a community for all members and staff, new and old. She is a «roll up your sleeves» manager that actually cleans the machines herself to understanding the business needs of the club. It is obvious that she takes great pride in providing a pleasant experience to all of the members which can be seen in her demeanor and in her actions.
The front desk welcome staff actually smiles now and says hello when you check in. The rest of the employees are more engaged and seem happy. The club improvements so far are fantastic from brand new cardio machines to concierge service in the locker rooms, larger towels, upscale shampoo, conditioner and body soap just to name a few. The club is always clean and sanitary. The brand new Pure Energy Café has a delicious menu. I had the Protein Plate which was filling and tasty. This is just the beginning of the exciting improvements and additions coming in 2016.
In short, you want a membership at this club. I promise you will be very happy with the quality of the equipment, staff and will also feel a part of the Bay Club family from the first day you join like I have.

I love love love The Bay Club! I have been a member here for 3 solid months & this club is as fine as it gets! I’ve been into health & fitness my entire adult life and The Bay Club is 5 stars across the board and more!
It is immaculately CLEAN everywhere in the club and also in the locker room. The staff is always attentive to my needs & requests and they’ve definitely gone the extra mile for me. The weights are always racked & it is never overcrowded. I never have to wait for my favorite machines because the space is very large and roomy (& I never feel trapped or claustrophobic)!
I’m a very pleased & happy member & I truly enjoy going to my club every morning! Thank you Bay Club & thank you Anastasia for making me feel at home here! I truly love it & appreciate all that you offer & do for me!
*Also, the classes are AH-​MAZ-​ING especially the Wednesday 5:45a.m. Body Pump class! Body Pump will whip you into shape in NO TIME!

Only a gym interested in making money and NOTHING ELSE would think about opening a «café» immediately after the front entrance with the stale smell of grilled dead animals greeting you at the front door. Couldn’t they have stuck to a healthy juice bar instead?
A club of their caliber with a self proclaimed luxurious feel should be zen, welcoming and inviting, not a money making mass of steel and concrete! My membership went up by $ 20/​month immediately after they acquired Spectrum to a whopping $ 100 and all to support unsustainable, ridiculous and unrespectful choices focused on revenue and without consideration for our health or the planet!
Oh, and did I say that they are cutting down an entire hill behind the gym (affecting trees and wildlife) to further expand their «installations»?
This 9 year Spectrum member is following the local birds and flying away FOR GOOD!

This club has become a lot more «crisp and fresh.» The staff has become friendlier and the improvements are slowly making the overall environment even more amazing.
Anastasia and her team have done an amazing job of turning this place around and making it more of a real great place to workout and chill.

I have been a member of Spectrum for over 20 years. This is the FIRST time someone is actually paying attention to the members. I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to the staff, trainers and especially Anastasia. She has gone the extra mile and continues to impress me everyday!

I grew up in the Thousand Oaks /​Westlake area since the mid 70’s and have rotated all the local gyms and most recently Spectrum. Before the Bay Club acquisition I seriously considered changing to a more modern gym with today’s equipment and full services.
I am so pleased with the current renovation and future plans shared by General Manager Anastasia of Bay Club. The staff is so much friendlier and very knowledgeable about overall fitness and health. The overall gym is much cleaner and the weight room is always organized. No extra charges for simple upgrades such as wet towels, shaving kits and services for pressing dress shirts are a classy touch.
I’m looking forward to the upstairs expansion for business conference rooms, outdoor pools, weekly social events and activities for the whole family.

I’ve been a member of Spectrum since 2011 and would like to say that I’m, extremely pleased with Bay Club buying of Spectrum. Our Gym has never looked so good and the staff seems much more happier than previously. A happy staff, that goes out of their way for their members, this is new.
Bay Club has implemented many changes including Family Activity Events, Wine Down Wed., A Coffee Barista, Refrigerator with special cool down towels after your workout and special events each month. For example I just attended the Summer of Love Event the 60s. Management paid attention to detail to this 2 hour event on a Friday Evening. Members brought their husbands and families had a great time. Their were many staff members there that supported this event including the General Manager, Anastasia, as a server. The General Manager is also there on every Wine Down Wed. mingling, serving and keeping the customers happy. This is just the beginning I’m very pleased and excited as to what is to come.
I can’t wait for the upgrades to begin on the upstairs with many more group fitness rooms. Our cardio equipment is kept in excellent condition, and I understand that new and upgraded cardio equipment has been purchased. All of this is in the cost of my membership, with no add on charges or extra charges.
My experience with Bay Club is definitely phenomenal and I’m excited to be a member of a wonderful growing club. I’m definitely looking forward to the future, with two new pools, new workout rooms, and new equipment a new club environment completely.

I’ve never been more pleased with a gym the way I have been with Bay Club. I’ve been a long time member of Spectrum and I’m very happy with the upgrades that have taken place since Bay Club took over and that they just seem to keep coming.
The machines are always well maintained and clean. It’s very important to me to see people cleaning and that never seems to be lacking here. The locker rooms are very clean, fresh towels always available and the showers are spotless.
I also really like how it’s not over crowded. I can’t even fathom standing in line for a machine as I’ve heard about other people doing at the gym. Never happens here. There is an abundance of equipment.
The staff are wonderful and the new management that has been implemented is fantastic! While I don’t have kids, I’ve heard nothing but positive things about the kids area from my friends who are mommies.
You really get a lot of value for your money with Bay Club. I wouldn’t hesitate telling anyone to become a member!

My husband and I joined Bay Club in January. As of this writing we have been members at Spectrum turned Bay Club for seven months. We came over from Golds since they don’t allow babies till nine months old and Spectrum/​Bay Club take little ones much earlier.
Our experience at Bay Club has been phenomenal!!! We have five children and I watch my niece when my sister works, so I really wanted a gym the kids would enjoy visiting on a regular basis. I have been so impressed by Bay Club’s children area. The child care providers are young and energetic people who interact with my children. I’ve picked up my children to find my daughters hair braided «just like Elsa!» Miss Calle asked me last week if she could paint the girls toes and I came back to find two very happy little girls showing off their pedicures! I really like seeing the day care personnel cleaning the toys after each baby is picked up.
We are eagerly awaiting completion of the older kids area! I know my nine year old will enjoy that room more.
I really love that no calls are allowed on cell phones in the workout areas. It really cuts down on annoying cell conversations. The gym is also never overly packed and I really appreciate the constant flow of trainers and staff going through the the gym putting weights and equipment in order. Machines and equipment are clean and well maintained. The only thing I would recommend is cleaning the stair steppers more often as they get the most sweat of any machine.
The locker rooms are nice and very spacious (Gold’s is cramped and cluttered). I love the real shower doors (Gold’s had flimsy curtains) and the little dressing area with bench in each stall.
I’ve just gotta put a plug in for the cold fresh water with fruit in it! And the cold eucalyptus scented towels for wiping off before leaving. Love little details like this!
We also really enjoy all the extra events! Fourth of July party was a great experience and the kids had so much fun! Complimentary food, shaved ice, face painting, balloon artist and huge outdoor bouncy house. We are excited for the outdoor Family movie night coming up!
In all, we have been very happy in our time at Bay Club! Try it out! Even if the cost seems high (it shocked me at first too) the cost of a sitter for three days a week would be much more for me. As a busy mom my gym time is my sanity, prayer and meditation time… and I usually get a great sweat going too!
