3 stars because they don’t have the staff to offer pick up and drop off services. Seriously though, this guy that works the desk, Steve, is the Lone Ranger here and doing the best that he can for a one man operation. Kudos to him for keeping it together. This seems like a stressful place to work alone.

I really wish I could have given this place ZERO stars, it doesn’t even deserve the one I’ve been forced into giving. This might be not only one of the most awful car rental establishments, but one of the worst business in all of Thousand Oaks. My family and I rented a car from this location for a week, a day into the rental the low tire pressure light kept coming on and we filled the tire. The next day the same thing happened and we called, their suggestion? To «take it to a tire repair shop and they would refund the cost» ??? So now I’m responsible for the maintenance of YOUR establishments rental cars? They didn’t offer to come out and switch it or anything. So incredibly rude. When we were finally able to get to the place and trade cars, the next one we got came on with an «Engine Fault Service Now» light 2 miles into our trip. The service is a nightmare, the cars are neglected and the entire experience was just MISERABLE

Never, have I had such a miserable car rental transaction and I’ve rented cars for business travel for over thirty years. Whoever runs this location needs to be replaced. The already mentioned comments of rudeness is one thing. But they overcharged and refused to make the required credits. I initially rented a car for three days at an agreed rate. I was not given the AAA discount as requested. I was just ignored. I needed the car longer and returned after a week. I should have received the lower weekly rate. Instead they charged 7 days at the daily rate AND charged a $ 10 over rate and did not give me the AA discount. I went online to this location’s website and put in the exact rental terms and got a weekly rate of $ 208. They charged $ 333. Worse of all, when I showed the counter person the rate on their own website, she simply ignored me, hit a button on her computer, printed a receipt and handed to me without a single work. The charge was $ 333. I called AVIS the next day and they confirmed these were not the right charges and made a reasonable credit. Kudos to Avis for fixing it. Now they need to investigate this fraud manager (owner?) and get this running like a responsible AVIS operation.

One star is far too much for this business. I have never had such an abysmal experience while trying to rent a car. We walked in and the desk was unattended, with a «be back soon» sign. A dead and wilted plant and stained chairs created a shitty sub airport grade ambiance. After waiting for almost 10 minutes a slimy man walks in and gives my mother and I a dirty look as he casually walks in on the phone. This man looked like the bastard child of a skunk and a rat, and was rude as humanly possible. He then proceeded to talk about a shooting on the phone for 5 minutes as we looked for another place to rent a vehicle before we left to get out of that hell hole. I usually wouldn’t bother to review somewhere like this, but Avis of thousand oaks has to be the worst car rental company ever.

Okay this review is for Avis on Thousand Oaks Blvd And Hampshire. The guy that runs the place in the front office is RUDE, like he doesn’t give a crap about his customers or his job. Made me wait a good ten minutes while he was babbling on and on on the phone, and his conversation didn’t sound work related, when he finally hangs up he looks up at me with a «what do you want» kinda look! Ugh never will I return.
