Acropolis Management

This property management company isn’t far the worst I have ever dealt with! The initial rental agreement I signed which stated they would replace carpet and 3 faucets and fix lights in bathrooms and Windows that wouldn’t stay open have not been touched in 8 months what a joke. They don’t answer any calls and have done nothing!!!

SLUMLORDS!!! I lived in Oxnard for 4 years 2007 – 2011. The old owners and Management Company kept up the property beautifully. All concerns and problems were taken care of in a timely fashion. Then the owners sold the place to these monkeys. Acropolis took over in early 2010 as the new management company. After that this place went down hill fast. I work hard and pay good money for rent. This place quickly turned in a sub-​standard slum. Acropolis is a lazy and incompetent management company. They should have paid ME to live there because I sure wasn’t getting my moneys worth. Anytime I had a legitimate problem to be fixed it was like pulling teeth to get them to fix it or send someone out. The complex became over crowded. They turn around studio apartments in just a weekend to families of 4. The complex isn’t a kid friendly place since every sound in the courtyard is amplified. Kids were running back and forth upstairs, screaming all over the courtyard ²⁴⁄₇. The pool broke down and it sat empty with a puddle of dirty water for months and was nothing but an eye sore. I was embarrassed to bring over any guests. When I moved out they failed to send me my deposit or list of deductions within 21 days. Then they claimed they lost my file. When i finally did get my refund its was for the wrong amount. I had to keep being persistent with them. They NEVER return calls. Never know the answer to my questions. When you call and ask a question they give you the run-​around. Get it together Acropolis!!! These people don’t care about the well being or satisfaction of any of their tenants. Multiple grievance letters have been written by the tenants and no changes or improvements were ever made. You know what that’s called? A Slumlord. They wasted so much of my time AND MONEY. Don’t even bother with them!!!

This is one of the worst MANAGEMENT COMPANIES I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH! The «Manager» is awful rude as can be. They never return any renters calls they never send anyone out to fix any issues. We had a break in and WILL NOT PAY FOR DAMAGE that is on the building that we had paid for… THIS «Manager» is a joke this company is a joke… I have no clue why they are still in business??? Why on earth would you trust your properties with these awful people that do not know how to talk TO PAYING RENTERS! NOR DO THEY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RENTALS. I THINK I SHOULD CALL THE DRE TO SEE IF THEY AR EVEN LICENSED OH WAIT THEY ARE LOOKING INTO THEM ALREADY. We have been here over 15 years and they treat us like CRAP! I am going to the BBB and everywhere else. I am so tired of this non-​scene!

I have not been a tenant with this property management company before, however, there was a listing that I was interested in that was managed by this company. I have made 3 calls to them regarding the property. My first one was to view the unit. I was told it wasn’t going to be ready until a specific Friday and that they would call me with the lock box number on that day. Never called me. I had to call them. The second call was to ask if the carpet was going to be replaced or shampooed and I had a couple questions about more repairs that needed to be made. I was told the manager would call me to answer any questions I had. Never called me. I had to call them. I figured no biggie. They are probably very busy. The third call I placed was requesting that they email me an application. I have yet to receive that email and it has been a few days now. Not following up with a potential tenant (meaning potential money) is bad business. I come on here to read their reviews and now it all makes sense. No thanks!

Giving this company «one star» is giving them one star too many. Unfortunately giving «zero stars» isn’t an option. Real life, modern day, SLUMLORDS.
I moved in to a filthy unit where the previous tenant was STILL RESIDING. They took off a mere $ 100 from the first months rent for that. (Mind you, I moved in the day I was due to give birth, so the price cut wouldn’t help me with the mess. I had to recruit friends and family to help clean the unit.)
They never return phone calls or emails, and they IGNORE the emergency line calls. They flake on meetings and inspections and will expect you to keep bending around their schedule.
At different times during my tenancy I lived without proper locks on my doors (I ended up replacing myself and was never reimbursed or even thanked) heat, cold water (for several months), and a working toilet, (I had called the emergency line and the landlord said in a smug tone that they weren’t going to send anyone out for a plugged toilet. I explained that it was BROKEN and water was rising up through the shower, that’s when he stopped answering my calls.) They lost the key to our unit and made me give them my copy, and make a new copy for myself at MY expense. Also, to no surprise of mine, they were over a week late returning my deposit.
We were spied on by the owners 7 or 8 times while we lived there. They would come and take pictures of the house and yard.
The last straw was when I expressed concern about the literal crack house motel I lived next to, I was told we could get a dog for protection, then they went back on their word and gave us a 3 day notice to get rid of the family dog or move.
We moved our things out and came back to the property to clean. It was obvious that someone had broken in to the property. We called the emergency line and was ignored and never had our call returned.
Please heed my warning, if you see a sign For Rent from this company RUN away. They will screw you over and rip you off. Stay away!

This place is by far the worst property management company I have ever dealt with. They are 100% slumlords who don’t care about the tenants and their rights. We moved from Idaho to California and had a hard time finding a place in short trips down here. We rented our house site unseen and showed up to an unlivable space. The house was so dirty and disgusting that we could not even stay in it the first night after making the long drive from Idaho. The property manager then took $ 80 off our rent for us to clean the house. It took over two days and hundreds of dollars in cleaning supplies to get the place clean enough to sleep in. This is not a cheap place either, we pay $ 2500 for a house where the oven doesn’t work and has never been cleaned, the windows leak and don’t lock, the carpets have never been professionally cleaned and the cabinets look like somebody was making meth in the kitchen. We have repeatedly asked for maintenance and we never get a response. I finally threatened to stop paying rent for some faulty electrical that was a fire hazard and that got their attention. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE OR RENT A HOUSE in Agoura Hills that they have listed. We are moving out as soon as our lease is up and this place can remain empty as it should because it’s not worth $ 2500/​Month.
