Just received my first invoice for services that occurred 2.5 years ago! Since I do not keep my medical records or insurance from 2.5 years ago I cannot verify what if anything was done or what my insurance should have paid. Turns out my wife went in to get tested for Strep Throat. The total charge $ 189 for a Strep test! Have left left two voice mails to billing department over 2 weeks ago, to date no return phone call. Sent email message that was responded to over a week later with pretty generic response. Never mind the legal side of billing someone this long after services rendered, how about the customer service. I would never think to send someone a bill that late and expect them to pay. The right thing for them to do is chalk it up to their mistake and not embarrass themselves further by sending out 2+ year old bills. If billing is this unorganized makes me wonder about the what else is wrong with the practice. Just lost a patient and will make sure anyone else I know does not return.

I went to see Dr. Knabel a few weeks ago for a sinus/​throat infection. He gave me the typical antibiotic which was fine. I am new to Denver and this was my first doctor visit. For the longest time I have been meaning to go see an allergist to make sure im not allergic to anything specific. He tells me that he is unable to refer me to an allergist because I dont know what im allergic to. If i knew what I was allergic to — I wouldnt have to go see an allergist, I would just stop or discontinue taking/​using whatever it was.
The last day of taking the medicine i started to get some side-​effects that i couldnt explain. So i figured I would call my new doctors office and let them know. I called about 7 times in a row before someone actually picked up the phone. I tell the receptionist or whatever my side effects and she puts me on hold to go ask the doctor. She comes back 10 minutes later on the line and tells me that the doctor is busy and she would call me back before the end of the day.
That night it got so bad that i had to visit the local emergency room. The doctor at the emergency room gave me stronger anti-​biotics and shook his head in disbelief when i told him about my experience with Dr. Knabel’s office. 2 weeks later and still no phone call from Dr. Knabel’s office to regarding my inquiry.
