Jackie is one of those natural trainers that all dogs love and respect immediately. My dog is SO excited every time she sees Jackie.
When I first got my dog, I had Jackie come to my house for a series of in-​home training. She works with you and your dog one-​on-​one and gets you both started on the basics so that you can continue working on them after she’s gone. By the time she leaves, your dog has got the lesson down pat and you just need to reinforce it with repetition. I’ve worked with other trainers in group classes and they were good, but not as good as Jackie. And I am convinced that the basis we got with Jackie is what helped my dog do so well in all the subsequent classes.
Jackie’s Saturday morning puppy socialization classes are absolutely the BEST thing you can do for your dog. A lot of puppy classes just let the dogs tumble around as they like, but Jackie doesn’t allow that. She really works with each dog to teach it how to play, how to overcome fear and/​or aggression, and how to approach other dogs. The results are really well socialized, happy dogs that know how to adjust their play styles to different dogs. (My dog plays completely differently when she’s with a small dog than when she’s with a big dog.)
Your puppy may need to be on-​leash during the first few play sessions, but believe me the results are worth dealing with the leash.
