I must first say that, as healthy and crazy about fitness as I am, I just love burgers. I probably exercise in part to take some of the guilt out of eating junk food. Now, McDonald’s restaurants, and especially their Big Mac are sort of my comfort zone when it comes to satisfying a craving for something that’s apparently so bad for me and seen by many as the most evil of alternatives for real food, provided by the most evil of corporate evil entities. So, wherever I am, in Thibodaux or anywhere else, I like to think that I’m never far from a classic like the Big Mac. When it comes to our branch on Canal in Thibodaux, I like the new look of the place, rebuilt a few years ago and the service is not bad at all, for a burger joint. The place is usually clean and you get the news on a big screen. Wi-Fi is nice too, even if I only used it once, trying to keep the sandwich from falling appart and not spreading some of those delicious ingredients all over my tablet, adding a new dimension to the whole experience. There are touch screens with what looked liked video games. Personally, I am not crazy about having my fingers go from a dirty screen, touched by many strangers to my food, to my mouth but people with kids did not seem to mind, even enjoying not having to chase their kids around the place, screaming like mad people. Being a full-time teacher, I enjoyed that as well.
