I was in the mood for crawfish and normally they are good here but it must still be too early in the season because what I saw was very small. So I decided to try the rib eye steak instead. To my disappointment the steak was thin and I had to had steak sauce to give it any flavor. Not really a good deal for $ 15 :-( Plus the girl serving me is not around and I had to ask someone else for steak sauce after she set my plate on the table and just walked off without asking if I needed anything… I see a small tip in her future :-)

3.5 star Over the last couple years I’ve been here about a dozen times. My fave item to get is their crawfish but I have tried several other items. Stopped in last night to treat myself to some crawfish after a very busy week. I ordered them very spicy and they were mild. Looks like a kitchen mess up on the spiciness. The size was small with a few medium sized ones. BTW I was quoted this size on the phone. They were firm and sweet like they should be. No mushy babies. The butter looking liquid is not all real butter because it stayed liquidly several hours later. Also ordered the fried pickles which were just as the bartender described being salty and sour. I tried them anyway and do appreciate the honesty of the bartender. I wouldn’t order them again though. Also got a mushroom Swiss burger to go. The bun was very doughy and needed to be toasted. They do carry a jalapeño cheese bun which the bartender suggested but the person eating it couldn’t have any spicy food. In the past I have had many items and my fave other than there crawfish was a fried fish poboy which was very good. Overall most of the food is 3 star with some 4 star items. The crawfish is $ 5.99 a lb for eat in and $ 1 a lb more to go per pound. It’s been that way for the last few years. You get one piece of corn and a half red potato per each pound you order. Overall pretty good for local crawfish but not the best in the greater Houston area. They have nightly food specials Monday-Thursday which are worth the money. They have a full bar with large screen tv’s all around the top of every side wall in the place. The servers/bartenders have always been nice and knowledgable and honest describing the food. I’m sure they must have drink specials but I never have inquired. Noise volume gets real loud during prime time! Four star for being real at what they serve, very good service despite very busy times and not being pretentious. Good casual hangout. Unilocal Review #281

The food is so good!!! The girls are cute, the beers cold, the game is on the TV. It’s a good atmosphere. Feel free to bring the family during the day, or go hang out with your friends in the evening. The lunch specials are awesome. On Mondays get buy one get one free burgers. I’m a big fan of tailgaters

I don’t see the appeal of this place. It’s extremely loud and is usually pretty crowded because of the way the table are packed in. They play dance music but have no dance floor. Drink prices are about average, selection of beer is decent, but the food is mediocre. Waitresses are typically rude and inattentive. Great place to have a beer and watch the game if you don’t want to be able to hear the game or talk to anyone you take with you.

Fun place to go. Burgers are great! Love that they have wheat buns. Had craw fish in the spring and they make a really good boil! Lots of TVs, fun place to watch a game.

Ive been here twice. This place is loud and has tonnes of TV’s which is what you want when coming to a place like this. I went during the World Cup and had the wings special. They where pretty much bland. We had two different flavours and both tasted flavourless. We had to get rank dressing to dip them in just to make them not bland. I gave them a break and put it down to being SUPER busy during a World Cup game. Second time I went I have the gator poboy and it was really nice. They have great beer and food specials. The waitress’s have all been good too. It is definitely on my list to visit regularly.

I don’t want to beat up on the place too much because we only visited once. The issue was the waitress. We’d order a round of drinks and she’d leave the order at the bar fifteen minutes and twenty minutes. Once, at the twenty minute mark, she returned to our table and asked if we wanted anything else. My friend pointed at the bar where two lonely drinks were sitting and replied, «Are those ours?» She looked blankly at us with doe eyes and answered, «Oh, yeah, you ordered drinks. I absolutely forgot.» By the looks of the other reviews, she is the aberration. I will likely go again just to see. The food was ok — although the alligator was all breading. The wings were good. I absolutely missed the daily specials that are listed on the back wall when I ordered. The waitress wasn’t bright enough to point them out. Do yourself a favor and check out the wall and see what they have that day. They all looked like good values. And if you have a choice between a blonde with doe eyes and a surly looking brunette? Choose the brunette. She didn’t smile a lot but all of her customers seemed to as they finished their meal.

Great casual atmosphere with tasty crawfish and wings at a very reasonable price. Stacy is a very attentive and knowledgable waitress. She can recommend a beer for most tastes from their draft beer selections. It is a perfect place to meet with friends for a laid back, unpretentious sports bar atmosphere. Their burgers and party melt are highly recommended also.

The place is a little chaotic and not much organization. The drinks are good and the place has a fun atmosphere, but there are only a few tables that are intimate. The floors had a lot of sticky spots as well. Great location.

Tuesday night wings are awesome! We recommend them to everyone. The wings are bigger than most places and cooked to a crispy perfection. They’re not greasy and overly saucy either. $ 10 for 22 wings is a great deal, too. What keeps it a 3 is the last few times service has been sub par. Last time, we waited almost 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We got there 7 minutes before happy hour ended(half price appetizers) and didn’t get waited on in time. The waitress did go ahead a push it through when I questioned it. They were really busy because of a basketball game, but still… Don’t waste your money on cheese fries. And definitely not the added $ 1.99 for bacon. We got cheese on top of a pile which made half the fries cheese less. The bacon was maybe $ 0.25 worth if that. At first I thought they forgot the bacon until I saw one little glob on the side. Overall, I’ll stick with the wings and regular fries. I’d say about a 3 ½.

Good food and great prices with big portions. I don’t usually like sports bars but really enjoyed this place the food will bring me back. Kayla Marie was a wonderful waitress and I look forward to having her gracious service again.

I have been to Tailgator a couple times on Sundays to watch some football. They have many TVs and try to accommodate everyone. The down side is that the service at the tables is poor at best. We have sat at a table twice now and both time have had miserable serivice. So I worked in the restaurant industry for 5 years, 25 minutes before greeting a table is too long. The third time we went we made a point to sit at the bar. Wow what a difference. The bar is the only reason they got 2 stars. Pros: Many TVs, Decent Bar Food, Has Room for a Group, Friendly Staff Cons: Poor Service, Aveerage Demographic his 50+ single male,

The bartenders are friendly and will hold a conversation with you if you know how to hold one. Drinks are strong and the beer is always cold. Over all a great place to watch the game during the day and a good spot to act a fool with you friends at night.

It’s a little weird that there are not more seafood choices in The Woodlands area. My theory is that it’s because it’s harder to turn a profit with seafood than, say, an Italian place, because it costs more and does not keep very well. You also can’t freeze it, especially in this area, since people know and can taste the difference. Couple that with the fact that the Stepford Woodlands people won’t patronize the sort of hole in the wall place that often serves the best seafood, and it just doesn’t seem to be a good business model for the area. I mean, Landry’s and Papadeaux are around, but they both suck. I wanted fried shrimp before heading back to the Midwest, since the stuff they get tastes like rubber from a Mexican drainage ditch. I called one place and was told they were closing in a half hour. Tailgator’s was open most of the night though, and had a good-looking menu, including fried shrimp. Easy enough to find if you know where you’re going: take the Trade Center Parkway exit. Nice patio area overlooking a quiet parking lot. Interior has cavernous ceilings with a large, square bar backing up to the kitchen. Overhead music was mostly country, but not too loud, and there were a lot of TVs, including an enormous projection one behind the bar that was showing the football game. There’s an area with dart boards on the side. It very much looks like a bar, but it wasn’t really noisy or rowdy, so you could probably bring in the family. Maybe not on a busy Saturday night, but certainly for dinner. Draft beer selection was decent, and included the Southern Star blonde. $ 4.75 for«premiums» was a little higher than I’d expect. They had three other Southern Star cans and a few other bottles that you would expect at most places. The staff seemed nice and in good spirits with one another. Service was speedy. I got food to go, and it had come out just as I finished the beer. $ 10 got fried shrimp, french fries and cole salw. They allow you to sub sides for(mostly) no extra charge. I subbed the slaw for veggies. I asked if they were frozen, and the girl didn’t know. But they weren’t. They were actually really delicious because of a cajun seasoning on there. It may have been Zattarains, but it made the veggies taste really good. Fries were pretty good. Shrimp were very good. I would come back here. I let my Woodlands family know about this place too, and they’ll probably come in. If you’re driving I-45 and want cajun seafood, this would be a good option.

Incredible mud bugs(aka crawfish). Probably the most spicy and flavorful that I’ve ever eaten!(Thumbs up!) +cold beer +gorgeous, competent, quick staff/service +low prices = a new fav on my weekly«to eat» list! We experienced no wait during lunch. Our«bugs» were on the table within 2 minutes of placing our order. Very diverse crowd. I would have felt comfortable bringing kids, a preacher, my grandmother, or a date. Daily specials are very affordable for those on a budget.

I’ve only been here a few times and only because it’s 5 minutes from my house. It’s just an ordinary bar nothing special. They have the norm on the menu that you would find at any bar/restuarant joint. I did notice that they have pretty good drink specials on Sunday though for Sunday Funday. The crawfish was okay, didn’t have much flavor. They were $ 4.99 a pound which is pretty reasonable. When we walked in most of the patrons we’re sitting at the bar side so we opted to sit on the opposite side, there were about 4 waitresses just standing there watching us and no one even came to get our drink order until almost 10⁄15 mins later. After that the service was fine.

I ordered Crawfish togo. They have a huge sign flashing outside 4.99 a pound. Called in an order, got here and it’s 5.99 a pound if its togo. What? ! Then they took another 15 minutes to get my order after I arrived. Wth? So not cool. The crawfish were decent but I do not buy into the fact that packaging makes the crawfish a dollar a pound more!(The packaging was a plastic bag inside a beer carton) Things like this will keep customers from ever going back– to go or dine in.

2 Large mugs of beer on tap only for $ 10(see photo). It’s a great sports bar, great beer, and great service. I didn’t eat here so I can’t tell you how good the food is but the beer selection is great.

Great place to drink, eat pretty decent pub food, and catch up with friend. Only downfall is the crowd. You never know if it’s gonna be bikers, frat boys, normal fun having folks, greaseheads, or just complete WOW nerds. Watch out going to the bathroom, you might get hit with a dart. Why they put the dartboard right in the pathway of the bathroom(esp in a bar, you, know, breaking the seal and all), I have no idea. And as a Louisiana girl living in Texas, I pretty much worship any place I can get crawfish.(Interesting side note, spell check does not recognize the word crawfish.) *smh

I actually liked this place. I haven’t been to many bars in Texas, so my perspective might be skewed… but, this place was cheap! $ 5 pitchers, lots of drink specials, and they had crawfish. Three of us ate & drank wayyy too much for less than $ 80 all-in. This is definitely a sports bar, and has to be one of the best places in the area to watch a game. It is a smoking bar however, so that sucks; my lungs already take enough abuse from living in western PA. I advise getting yourself a pitcher of Shiner Bock, a few lbs of crawfish, and gator bites; you can’t go wrong with that combo.
