Kona Ice North Houston

First time trying out this food truck was at Discovery Green! One man truck can get pretty crazy slow when there is a long line!
$ 2.50 for a junior cup is quite enough for one person! Love how you self serve your syrup! Looks clean all the times we had some ice! Price is reasonable.
Nice treat when you are outside and need a quick snack.

The truck was really amazing, it had a fun and exciting family atmosphere. Not only was the ice expertly crafted but it was also delightful when you got to add your own syrup. There was a wide variety of flavored syrup and I had a really good time. Although it was a tiny bit pricy for just a snow cone I would definitely recommend it.

Okay, so it’s not true «shave ice», but this isn’t Ali’i Drive, people!
Kona Ice DOES offer the smoothest ice, by far, of any snow cone/​shave ice/​snowball stand I’ve tried this side of New Orleans or Hawaii.
One thing Kona Ice does better than anyone is move the line! You walk up and pay for a cup of the soft-​as-​snow ice shavings, then step to your left where you are greeted with a selection of the most popular syrups. My favorite is lemon-​lime, but perhaps you prefer Tiger’s Blood. Want to mix cherry and watermelon? Go for it, no one is watching — you deserve it, go wild!
Then find some shade and enjoy the delectable childhood-​memory-​spawning decadence that only one of these frozen treats can provide. (Oh, sure, and if your kid wants one, I guess that’s okay, too).

Calling it Kona ice is misleading, it is NOT Hawaiian shaved ice. Just a typical snow cone, does not have the smooth texture of real Hawaiian shaved ice. Will not repeat.
