History

Established in 1966.

Spooky’s was opened in 1966 by Tom and Margory Foley, as a family owned and operated restaurant and quickly became a favorite gathering place in The Dalles, for almost 20 years.

In 1999, with original recipes so graciously bestowed upon us, we were delighted to open Spooky’s doors again, and once more, welcome our customers in to enjoy as family.

Family friendly place. The kind of place where you take the team for pizza after the big game Sandwiches are good. Pizza is average or below average. More about the pizza: $ 20 gets you a very standard (yawn) 12″ Hawaiian pizza. Again, thats $ 20 for a 12″ Hawaiian pizza. $ 20 gets you a wood fired gourmet pizza at a brew pub. Not a good value anyway you slice it. Also, you have to order at the counter. Not a big deal, but CC receipts have a place for tips. Tips and walk-​up service don’t go together. I feel like a dick if I dont leave a tip, but it’s not really a tip producing setup.

Stopped in this small beautiful town to see some family. The inside was larger then I thought it would be. It was kind of loud so the cashier had a hard time taking our order but she got it right the guy handing out the food was lost apparently given the wrong number but eventually we got it sorted out. The food was good. mayo was 50 cents extra. Next time I want to try the pizza but the bacon cheese burger was well received around the table.

We absolutely LOVE Spooky’s pizza! We’re not from the area, but travel through it at least twice a year and I always time our travel so that we are inThe Dalles at either lunch or dinner time so we can stop here. Truly excellent brick oven style pizza! I only wish they would franchise and open one in Spokane!

I love Spookys food. Busy all the time. Sometimes you have to wait 45 minutes for your food. It is so worth it. Salad, Reuben’s, hamburgers, everything great. Pizza not my favorite. But food is so wonderful. People are nice.

No complaints! Would definantly eat here again! Really good pizza I got the taco pizza tasted perfect and it came out very fast as well. About average price but they’re pretty big sized pizzas.

Spooky’s is the go to Pizza gathering place in this area and has been serving pies and other classic American favorites for decades. It’s a fun atmosphere with large screen TV’s, gaming and fireplace which is great during the colder periods in The Gorge. Not inexpensive but Spooky’s is a consistent performer with a good variety to fit almost everyone’s tastes.

This place is kinda a joke. The hours suck. We went in there on a Wednesday and my husband orders a pitcher of beer at 8:45 not knowing they close at 9pm in the middle of SUMMER! The lady that rang us up didn’t say 1 word that they’re closing in 15 min. Kinda pisses you off. (left a whole pitcher of beer sitting there on the table). Then today, (Sunday) we go there for pizza and they’re f-​Ing closed! Are you kidding me! I’m not saying their food is bad. But Jesus, when are you open and how can you run a business when you’re closing at 9 pm in the summer when the sun is still up and closed on Sunday’s when it’s one of the busier days for business, especially for families after church.

Have only eaten here a few times. But, it does have good food. The price is much more than other pizza places in town. We have only ever gotten the Oriental Chicken Salad and the BBQ chicken pizza. We generally only get orders to go because the atmosphere is geared towards childen and we do not have any.

Always a treat to eat at Spooky’s, good pizza, great sandwiches, salads, a nice selection of beverages for all ages and a great atmosphere, sometimes a bit noisy when there’s a busload of kids from a sports team, but overall the employees smiles and service and the quality and portion sizes are all great. Also a nice place to take kids to play in the arcade.

Really, what can I say. We rolled in with a medium size group and they served us with top notch speed. Amazing place with some of the best Pizza that I have ever had. Nothing but good things to say about the staff and the service. This will be a regular meet up of our car club. Most eating establishments in Portland could only strive to be this good. PS managment, you have some special people.

This place is good enough but not awesome. I had the Alamo salad and it was okay, not bad, not great. Hubby had a burger and fries, it was good. Everything was average, including service and prices. Ordering is done at the counter and they give you a number for your table. There’s a game room and lots of interesting things like a huge stuffed moose with antlers and other animals, so a great place for kids pretty much.

Good place for pizza, however, just tried their Sandwiches (CBLT, Cesar Chicken) and the Alamo Salad (ordered non spicy).
The crispy chicken sandwich was soggy, the cesar chicken sandwich well. It barely had any chicken on it and the little bit of chicken it had was very dry and cold, barely any cesar salat as well. So it was more like a toasted bun with a side of Cesar chicken and with the Alamo Salat it simply got ignored that we wanted it non spicy. Very disappointed!!!

Sure wish they had a microwave available to their customers. I didn’t feel like complaining and after an hour no one asked me why I still have not eaten my chili. Cold chili is no good.
