History
Established in 2010.
Culinary at Home got started as an idea a few years ago when I noticed a HUGE spike in restaurant growth, which told me that people are becoming busier, and less time was spent around the dinner table at home. The result of this growing concept of large corporations manufacturing meals that are more convenient for the consumer, and restaurants growing at an all time high, gave me the idea of trying to get back into the heart of the house, to learn how to cook, to eat healthier, and to bring the family back around the dinner table. I feel that there is very much of a need for people to learn how to cook, and to try and get away from the processed foods that are available for the consumer. After I graduated from The Culinary Institute of America, I put forth my concept, and my dream became a reality.
Meet the Business Owner
Lee E.
Business Owner
I started gaining my interest in the hospitality industry when I was young. At that time, I had been exposed to the industry because my Father was a restaurateur. He taught me the skills necessary to work in both the front and back of the house of his restaurant. As time went on, I stayed surrounded in the hospitality industry by working in restaurants. Since I enjoyed working with food and being in that environment, it inspired me to enroll in a secondary school for culinary arts, while attending high school.
After graduating high school, I had the opportunity to work under Chef Dean Fearing at Rosewood’s Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas. After leaving The Mansion, I went to work for Southwest Airlines. Southwest’s Co-founder, and my mentor, Herb Kelleher, taught me how important people, friends, and family are to a business. With this being instilled in me, I decided to further my education and go to the Culinary Institute of America. This is how Culinary at Home was created.
