After reading previous reviews(various sources) on this motel I was skeptical about the condition of the room, location, security, pretty much everything. But after visiting for the weekend, it is very clean, the staff was friendly and it location is not too bad. They offer a small simple breakfast but I’m not a breakfast eater so I passed but the breakfast consisted of cereal, muffins, milk and juice. There may have been more breakfast items earlier in the morning but I can’t be sure. The motel is located need some great resturants, and shopping. It is approximately 15 minutes from a Tanger Outlet Mall and 45 minutes from Houston(depending on traffic). I will be visiting again soon and will definitely keep this motel in mind with booking activities in that area.

First off, this place is not the easiest to get to. It’s situated on the exit ramp to 1746. Use your GPS and you’ll save yourself a headache. I thought my GPS was crazy at first but then I realized it knows better than I do. Check-in was easy and quick. There’s a decent surveillance camera set up of the parking lot, which I thought was nice. The clerk wasn’t friendly but wasn’t rude either. I just got the feeling she’s there to do her job and that’s it. Not a customer service type lady. We couldn’t park near our room because a jerk in a pick up choose to park in the MIDDLE of two spaces. There were parking spaces on the side of the property but I prefer to park in a lighted area and close to where my room is. Call me silly, but I think it’s not too much to ask. So I decided to park down the parking lane nearly at the entrance to the motel lobby. The room seemed clean. We wanted to call the front desk and see if they could contact the pickup’s owner. The telephone didn’t work, there was a dial tone, but the buttons didn’t push right. But who needs a telephone in the room when you have your cell phone right? One of the outlets didn’t work at all, which meant one of the lamps didn’t work. Towels are extremely thin and small. And instead of a small bottle of shampoo and conditioner there are in packets like ketchup in a drive thru. Ick. Good thing, the three of us brought our own supplies! It is advertised that they have free WiFi but that’s not our experience. We couldn’t connect because the signal was too weak. I don’t know if there was a password needed since I couldn’t even connect. Hopefully the front desk clerk would have told us if there was a password, but then again she might might not have since she wasn’t very friendly. The beds were okay. A bit hard, but not terrible either. We all slept and that’s the desired outcome. They do serve a continental breakfast but I’d save my time and just head on over to a diner or grab a McMuffin at a McDonald’s. All in all, it’s a cheap place and you get exactly that. Nothing more. P. S. — I know the parking problem I experienced was unique and isn’t the fault of the motel, but rather the owner of the pick up. I do feel they should have lighting and cameras watching the side of their property though.
