History

Established in 2006.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

As far back as she can remember, Kristi Andrews has had a passion for baking. Her professional baking career began when she was sixteen years old, as a baker for Purity Supreme supermarkets. Over the next decade, she gained experience at several well known bakeries, including Mike’s Pastry of Billerica and Boston and Barry’s Pastry of Dracut.

Kristi is also a dog lover and mother to Kiki, her beloved lab/​whippet mix. After time as a corporate event planner and a mortgage broker, she was ready to start her own business. It was difficult to find all natural, high quality dog treats for Kiki, so she’d been studying dog nutrition and had started baking for Kiki and a couple of Kiki’s best dog friends. The word spread and Kristi soon developed quite a reputation among all the dogs in her neighborhood for her scrumptious dog cookies and cakes, made especially for them. The demand grew, and an idea — a bakery exclusively for dogs. The Barkery was born!
