Snake River Lodge & Spa

Overpriced. Needs updating; the bathroom grout was messed up. And the hotel has a problem with the heating system; even with the thermostat turned all the way down, and the doors to the patio (middle of winter) completely open, it was still 78 degrees in the room. No thanks… should have stayed at the Four Seasons.

This is for the restaurant. For a 4 star hotel the only thing that is 4 star is the price range.
We ate here 2 couples, my wife had a salad that was very sad and she also had elk meatball slider, the meatball was hard and dry, maybe it was heated up, the tomato sauce was neither warm or cold, on top of that they put a lettuce as deco that looked like it came of the floor.
I had a beetroot salad with blackened chicken, the chicken was so dry I could hardly swallow it.
It should be goat cheese on top of the salad, some of the pieces looked molded so I called the waiter. He took it out and came back saying that kitchen had the Gorgonzola next to the goat cheese so it was some pieces from it, I’m still not sure if that’s true.
My friend had the trout and the fish was cooked perfect, but was served with vegetables that looked like they were heated up from earlier.
His wife had pasta which was ok.
My wife’s dish was taken off the bill. But we still think the food on a 4 star hotel should be much better.
After all Trout cost 27 $, salad with chicken 18 $, pasta 18 $, salad + sliders 23 $(was taken off)
With this experience I’m happy we did not go for the steaks for 47 $ !!!

Location is fabulous, spa is impeccably clean and staff in restaurant is very friendly. However hotel staff is less than helpful; could use customer service training. Morning spa staff is excellent, evening spa staff not so much. Only knew the word no; not helpful. Also if you plan to work while you are visiting, don’t stay here; the internet speed is lousy! Tried to upload just 8 photo graphs at a time (the same task that takes about 30 seconds or less at home) took 20 mins and longer here. Terrible, terrible Internet! This was the case in the dining room and the room. No difference.

I am a frequent hotel traveler and The Snake River Lodge has some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Every interaction with this hotel has been horrible, all the way up to management.

Excellent choice for our family for a 2-​night stay. Close to Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole. A lot to see and do in the area. Rooms were very clean and the staff friendly. We would stay here again. Everything is a little pricey, but you know that going in.

I didn’t find the hotel to be a good value. They charge quite a bit for the rooms and also charge a resort fee. Don’t expect exceptional service. Don’t expect the resort to look like the pictures on the website. The hotel is old and showing it’s age. The carpet throughout the hallways of the hotel sorely need to be replaced. I suggest spending less and staying at the Hostel hotel or try the Alpenhof if you are looking for more amenities that are offered at the Hostel. The best reason to stay at any of these three hotels is proximity to the ski resort. If you’re visiting outside of ski season, try a less expensive hotel elsewhere in the Jackson area.

My husband and I stayed here for the first half of our trip to Jackson Hole. We wanted to spend half of our trip in a more remote setting like Teton Village and the second half closer to the shopping and restaurants. Snake River is great for people that want to be situated right next to outdoor activities like skiing.
Snake River Lodge is set about 30 minutes from the airport and 15 – 20 minutes from the town of Jackson. It’s located within walking distance of several other hotels and resorts so there are plenty of restaurant options outside of The Lodge as well as on the property. We were pleased with all of the restaurants we ate at during our stay. There aren’t many shops, but there are a few including a convenience store that sells food and wine.
Snake River has a couple of restaurants. We only ate at one, but did think it was very good. They have a small cabinet of snack foods in the lobby for purchase which is convenient. They have an on site activity center that can help with arrangements which is also very convenient.
We chose Snake River because it was one of the most updated resorts and one of the more reasonably priced lodges in the area. Our room was cleaning and had everything that we needed. You can’t beat everything that is provided on site like the restaurants and activity center.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and have only good memories of our stay. I’d definitely recommend this lodge.

Stayed here for 5 nights for my vacation. Do not understand how this is a 4-​star hotel.
The room – it was too small to have two queen beds with other furnitures, with broken radio/​iHome.
Pool & other facilities: this may be ideal for families with small children. It was always packed with children, so we went to the steam room and spa instead;HOWEVER, hot water won’t work, so we basically waited for like 20 mins to heat up. The gym is just okay, nothing fancy.
Service/​staff:
Rude and cold. The lobby staff was usually nice, but the foreign workers never even bothered to make eye contacts when we asked questions
Location: this is in a cute Teton village. 15 – 20 mins to Jackson and Wilson, and 10 mins to the Grand Teton National Park
There is this ridiculous complimentary fee ($ 30) everyday, which supposedly includes everything except for breakfast.

Even though a hotel has 4stars I think it deserves more. It’s located in beautiful Teton village which is 20 min drive from busy downtown Jackson and it makes it so much nicer.
Very welcome atmosphere and staff.
Great breakfast and tea/​coffee served all day at the lobby.
I was amazed by how many amenities they have and it’s all free!
I got pretty good deal for what they offer.
Moreover they have so many fun things to do such as hiking, horse riding, going up to the mountain, biking and much more.
Id recommend this place for sure.

My family and I had the best time staying here!
Our room was beautiful, and the beds were super comfortable.
Housekeeping was on point, and made sure our room looked great each day.
Service was fantastic! Everyone was happy to help us, or even greeted us.
The food was amazing! I personally recommend the smoked pheasant soup. I cleaned my bowl each time I ate it.
All in all it was a great stay there. It couldn’t have been better.

Not a fan. You can hear anyone in the hallway loud and clear through the paper thin walls with no sound insulation.
Booked through priceline and they tossed a nice $ 30 «resort fee» on top of the basic booking with tax. Made what was a reasonable $ 134/​night a $ 200/​night all-​in. That’s not Priceline’s fault, that’s this joint just reaching into your pocket and taking advantage of you when you have no options.
At least that fee comes with a full sheet of paper to explain to you what you are getting bent over for!

I stayed overnight and did not get to really take advantage of what this place has to offer. But, I can say the staff was great. They were very friendly and personable. Kudos to Jessie the conceige. I called the day before my arrival and she arranged a cab to pick me up from the airport. Then when I missed my connecting flight in Salt Lake City and my arrival was delayed by seven hours I called and she made sure the cab arrangements were modified. Jessie also expressed sympathy for me missing my connecting flight and was friendly in person as well. Kudos also to Kym the waitress in the restaurant. The morning buffet was excellant.
This hotel has an indoor/​outdoor pool, is located next to the Jackson Hole ski lift, has a spa and 24 hour fitness room. The rooms are nice and clean with soft pillows.
Next time I am in Jackson Hole, I WILL stay here and make sure I have enough time to really take advantage of what this place has to offer.

Pretty mediocre hotel for the price. Typical example of when professional photos on a website can make any hotel look amazing. I could take a professional picture of my bathroom and you’d want to sleep there too. Very good location, but weak rooms and amenities. Rooms are small and dated. Food is mediocre and overpriced. Service is acceptable, but nothing to write home about. Pool isn’t bad, but you’d think it would have a view of the mountain given where it’s located (it doesn’t). The spa is decent. But the only really great thing about this place is the ski valet and the location relative to the lifts. If the hotel wasn’t right at the base of the mountain, you wouldn’t pay more than $ 150−200/night for a room here. Because it’s at the base of JH, you pay $ 500/​night. Such is life. Tread cautiously here… honestly I think the Four Seasons is a better value at $ 1200/​night than this place at $ 500/​night. At least you get what you pay for at the Four Seasons.

Feel free to make your own decision up or down on stars the is just fact based.
1) As many of the other reviews indicated the place is run down. Learn from Steve Wynn and change your carpeting and paint the walls one a regular schedule. Once a season on the walls once every two seasons on the carpet and other dingy un-​maintained surroundings.
2) Spa: Again dingy, steam room was just a hot room with no steam. Sucked after looking forward to it after skiing all day. Bring flip flops floors are nasty.
3) Front desk staff attitude and service was above average.
4) Concierge: Worthless, had few suggestions on what to do for fun. We asked her to make a rez for a snow mobile ride. After huffing and puffing she said she would call us back if she got a rez for us. Keep in mind we told her we could do it anytime within the 7 days we were in town. 4 days in no call.
5) Restaurant, haha just check the Unilocal reviews for the «game fish «and all will be told. Zero management at least 7 un bussed tables for continental breakfast
6) Apres Ski: Not bad in the bar they provide some free appetizers like buffalo wings, meat balls Etc, but also nothing to write home about.
7) unlike many of the other reviews our room was quiet and the house keeping staff was great.
8) The «historic» elevator, haha what a joke spend the $$ and upgrade it. There is no charm in it, its slow and it will chop your fingers off if you are not carful .
9) Bed was comfortable
10) Ski Valet staff is great and accommodating, but the location is a bit fat from the actual slopes and you have to hike up to get there. Prob not a big deal for most though .
11) Lobby fireplace not cozy with a flicker of a flame
12) NO shuttle or offer of transportation t any place in town, but public bus stop close by

Rooms were a bit on the small side but your really no there for spending all your time in your room. Had a decent lunch at the bar. Breakfast was very sub par and limited. Lots of bear artwork in the halls. Friendly staff.

I had always heard amazing things about the snake river lodge. I was staying nearby and need of a late dinner — so I went to the snake river lodge.
I went to the bar area and ordered a burger (medium), huckleberry cobbler for my mom (to go) and a margarita (which was on the menu for while I waited). I watched the clearly new bartender make it and knew it wasn’t going to be good. He probably added 8 – 10 oz of «mix». It was literally undrinkable but no issues — the other bartender made me a new one.
My to go order came and I left. When I got to my hotel and opened the box, I knew something was wrong — the burger was still showing pink around the edges. Oh well, I can eat stuff pretty rare. I bit in and it was literally raw around the edges then I cut the center and it was completely uncooked — not even warm to the touch.
Very disappointing for a bill of $ 45

The appetizers kill at this place… The main courses, not so much… Except the elk ragout got rave reviews.
Ate with a group if 24 with a fixed menu.
The shrimp and hummus appetizers were delicious. I’m hoping I can sneak into the welcome reception tonight and snag some more!
Out of the main courses we didn’t like: the halibut, the prime rib or the vegetarian option.
The bar makes great cocktails.
The waitstaff was excellent. We had a crazy rowdy kids table and they handled it perfectly! They took really great care of the adults too!
Conclusion– if you’re snowed or rained in, you’ll be okay!

We stayed here several years ago and we really liked the place. Now, I believe the economy has taken its toll on the place. Room prices are ok, not great but then they tack on an additional $ 25.00 to use the pool or fitness room. They did not have an open restaurant as it is only open from 4:00 to 6:00pm. Dinner is only in the bar and is limited to bar food not my idea of a nice dinner. Valet parking is expensive and is a must. Service I the bar area is very slow and limited as the bar tender is also the waitress and server. We will not be staying here again!

It was a really nice place! Beautiful view right outside the lodge! Just right by the the Jackson hole! Nice room ! Great pool!

We stayed here for 4 nights last autumn (during the government shutdown). The location is great, the on-​site staff is very friendly, but unfortunately, the hotel leaves much to be desired (including hot water).
On the first day, I noticed the makeup mirror was broken
(hanging by a cord). The staff sent an engineer up, who «fixed» it,
but did not actually make it usable. He actually just cut the cord — and glued the mirror to the base. The mirror was facing inward and was unable to be moved so it was not useful during the entire trip.
Our room was only cleaned one day of the 4 it could have been
(Admittedly, one day was my fault for leaving the Do Not Disturb sign
hanging). When it was serviced, we were not given two clean coffee
mugs (only one), and we never received any additional water (other
than the two we received at check-​in), that was included
in the resort fee. When I would return back to the room for the day, I would call the front desk to notify them that my room was not cleaned, and they said that housekeeping was gone for the day and I would have to wait until tomorrow.
I would have been happy to overlook all of the above, if had we been
able to shower every day. Several times I called the front desk to
complain about the lack of hot water. I was told to «let the water run
for 20 minutes» which I did. Only one out of the four days we were
there was the water warm enough to shower. This is highly unacceptable
and made our entire trip very uncomfortable.
I was given a General Manager’s name to contact regarding my concerns; however, he never returned any of my calls or emails.
This area is definitely worth visiting; however, on my next visit, I would stay at the Four Seasons next door (where we had friends staying) — much better value, service, etc., for a comparable price.
