Holiday Inn Express & Suites Terre Haute

excellent hotel. They give a AARP discounts, and they are very courteous at the front desk. A full size refrigerator microwave and kitchen available. Bathtub is immaculant going to take a bath tonight. Two types of pillows the pillowcases safe firm and soft on them. Take your pick little desk area an excellent excellent place to stay. I need to thank my wife for saving me from motel 6. Because I was so tired I was heading back there because I knew they took pets and we were talking on the phone and she found this place that is pet friendly. & a hell of a lot nicer than Motel six.

CONS:
Foul, moldy smell omitting from the A/​C unit for the first 10 minutes after it was turned on.
Customer service is horrendous. All employees seemed to be unhappy they were working there. No smiles, no friendly faces, nothing. Like it was a chore for them to be there. On the morning of our check out, I walked from the 3^rd floor to the first floor for breakfast and then out the front door to leave. During this time, I encountered 5 employees. During all encounters, I the customer, went out of my way to say «Good Morning» to them all. They were all staring right past me and seemed surprised when I offered the greeting. What topped it off was when we were walking out of the door to leave, I (again) had to say to the receptionist «Thank you, Have a Good Day» as she was staring off into space. Here response was «Oh, you too».
RECOMMENDATION:
Run the A/​C units every other day in rooms not used to prevent buildup of water, dust and/​or mold in the units.
Retrain all staff in the minimal nuances of the customer service and hospitality industry.
The hospitality business is just that. Hospitality. I am an IHG member and if we are ever in this area again, I would rather stay outside of the IHG chain than be subjected to this lack luster treatment again.

This hotel was very nice. I was just passing through on my way to Kansas City and needed a place to lay my head. They have free Wi-​Fi and HD television. It is very modern and the décor and lives up to the holiday in express commercials. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I’m very pleased with the amount of spaghetti that was in my room. 5 lasagnas for this hotel. Brefask could of had more pasta.

We found this place in our AAA guide book. It had a reasonable rate. The bed and pillows were comfortable; better than our stay at a different brand the night before. The bathroom was large enough for two people to get ready in the morning. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast staff were very helpful when I ask for a banana and none were available. The pancakes were light and fluffy. They even had sugar free syrup for my husband.

A good holiday inn express. I’m traveling on business, so I wanted it to be comfortable. It lives up to expectations. Customer service has been quite good the past few times I’ve been here. One time they accidentally double charged me. I made one quick phone call and got it resolved. It seems to depend on the day whether or not you get any of the goodies at check in for being a rewards member though.

Very nice for this type of hotel. Pool was uncrowded, albeit small, so we enjoyed it (salt water, not chlorine BTW). No in-​room fridge, which was a bit unusual. Front desk guy was helpful, if a little disheveled. Lobby was nicely appointed. «Free breakfast» was exactly what you’d expect from a hotel of this class with no proper kitchen, but better than nothing.

We came to visit my partner’s family in Terre Haute and booked The Holiday Inn Express and Suites on Hotwire: YAY! This is an absolutely beautiful, clean and new hotel — the best in Terre Haute!
The service is friendly, the accommodations are beautiful and very comfortable. It’s clear — from the simple, vibrant beauty to the small details that there was great thought put into this hotel!
From the entryway with iced water flavored with fresh slices of oranges or cucumber, to the gorgeous breakfast area, the business room, indoor swimming pool, and fitness room with top of the line equipment, this place rocks!!!
I love the spaciousness of the room, the softness of the sheets and towels (rare these days in hotels!), the individual thermostat, the pillows marked firm or soft, the light inside the shower, the abundance of towels, Bath and Bodyworks lotion, shampoo and conditioner, and the free breakfast (which is a huge, full service breakfast complete with make-​your-​own pancakes, sweet rolls, fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, and breakfast sausage as well as coffee and orange juice).
We couldn’t be happier (we’re there now)! Holiday Inn Express in Terre Haute is everything you could possibly want or need in your home away from home!
