Three stars is an average. The lake and woods is beautiful The golf course is terrific and the golf pro 5 star. Some of the food is very good but other times it has been way below average. The lodge is old but if you can rent houses that are reasonably priced. Don’t get a steak salad. They cut up a minute steak and put it on iceberg lettuce and charge like it is real steak on greens. The restaurant is hit or miss but the place is as pretty as anywhere I have ever been. If you want to leave the resort you have to drive 30 minutes to a restaurant. The local town could not even support a pizza place. Even a grocery store is far away.

I’ve been here a few times. The prices are ok. The food is ok. And the servers are polite. The bar is cool with the pool tables and games up stairs.

The «Alpine Thrill» house is my favorite to stay at! I love the cool mountain air, the scenic views on the golf course, and all the Maryland wildlife you see in Terra Alta. This is definitely a favorite getaway location.
