Terrible DPS office.

I had great service today, much better than any DMV I have ever been to previously. The staff new their jobs and were pleasant to deal with. I was in and out within 25 minutes for a name change and address update.

This is the horrible DMV/​DPS i ever seen. while people take off day from their job and go over there for appointment sitting there all day until they close it, most of employee working in that building just they talking to each other and play around they don’t even care who is waiting for them standing on the line all day. This place is need to fix for real if that office open to serve people. I am sorry for all of you guys leave down there, you guys need to go somewhere else can serve you better.

I can’t give this no stars, but I sure wish I could!
We recently moved to TX for the military, and being a spouse, TX required me to get a TX drivers license. I’ve been to many DMV’s over the decade, but I have to say, this TX DMV was the worst. I have neither the time nor the patience to see if others are like this down here.
I arrived at 11:15 and there were not many people here. I explained to the gal at the welcome desk what I needed and she gave me a number. I was #16. Yay me (since #12 was currently being served).
How deceptive those «take a numbers» are. Come to find out, every time someone comes in for a renewal license or renewal ID they are put directly to the front of the line. If you have a number, you must wait until all renewal people are served before they will advance on the number tickets.
45 minutes and 8 renewals later, they called #13.
An hour and a half and some 15 more renewals later… they hadn’t called anything but #13.
I realize that DMV lines are long and tedious, but I have never been in a location where it wasn’t «first come first served». I gave up. Perhaps I will try another time by camping out in their parking lot the day before and walking in the minute it turns 8 o’clock in the morning.
Yep, things sure are big in Texas. Big hair. Big trucks. Big inefficiency. I can’t wait to leave it.
