We didn’t get to order. As soon we got there the cashier told me they only had one cook and whatever we order was going to take 40 to 45 minutes.

Been coming here for years! Pretty good local place if you want some sushi. The bento box is a good size portion.

The sushi was tasty but cooked food has a lot of msg. The 2 ladies servers kept on chit chatting very loudly at dinner time without working, we asked for tea refill, she answered in a grumpy way without doing it, maybe the boss wasn’t there.

The local sushi spot close by home. My sister wanted to get sushi so I suggested this place. Anyway, we got a number 11 which was like $ 13.99 for 22 pieces of sushi. Came with California rolls, cucumber rolls, salmon, tuna and white tuna? I’m not too sure what they were called, but they were pretty good. My expectations were not too high because it looked like a small mom and pop restaurant, but I was definitely impressed after trying it. My sister didn’t end up eating any of the sashimi and just ended eating the California rolls… So, i learned two things from coming here today, one is the sushi here is pretty good and enough to satisfy a craving and two, don’t bring a teenager here because they aren’t going to eat any of the sashimi even when they are the ones who are suggesting to order it.

Amazing staff, affordable and pretty bomb ass sushi. It may look pretty mediocre outside but it’s pretty amazing inside. ;)

The Food is Ok. But the Service is too slow! Only one staff here no matter how many customers. Don’t come if you are in hurry

For some quick togo sushi, this place’ll satisfy the craving. Is it amazing? No. Does it work? Yes. The inside is kinda small and danky, and your sushi is made by Chinese people, butI guess for the price and wait, it’s an okay trade-off. I’d stay away from the Onigiri Rice Balls tho. I ordered a salmon one, and it had like 5 skimpy pieces of salmon inside it. I“m not expecting a whole lot, but for $ 2, I want more than just a seaweed wrapped thing of rice.

I haven’t actually been to this place before, but my boyfriend always takes out from here and brings it back home for me to eat. This place is in the plaza located behind the clover leaf bakery. There’s plenty of parking so don’t worry. He got me the cucumber roll, which I like because their cucumbers are really big compared to other Japanese places. There are 2 sizes to their rolls, make sure you specify if you want the larger or smaller size. I prefer the larger ones of course. My boyfriend gets their spicy tuna roll & California roll. He says it tastes like any other place. The rolls are around $ 5. You must get their side salad! It’s only like $ 2 or something. Their sauce is delicious and it goes well with the fresh lettuce they give you. The size is pretty small though, so my boyfriend always gets me 2 orders. The only reason why I’m giving it 3 stars is because when my boyfriend went the second time to get me a cucumber roll, they said that their cucumbers weren’t fresh :(I appreciated the honesty I guess, but a restaurant should always be prepared with fresh ingredients! Especially if it’s a sushi place.

First time I came here was with a girlfriend and I liked it! Definitely a hit. I had a bento — box A and the food was pretty good considering it’s only $ 8.99 with soup, rice, and dessert, although the green tea ice cream with the mixed jelly they normally put in boba drinks was a weird combo imo. Second time I came here was actually the very next day, and holy crap what I saw was a complete no no. I was seated with the people I was with and was facing directly to the kitchen. The workers assemble the trays on a rolling cart — not very systematic in my opinion, and they tried to fit four of the bento trays at the same time but one fell. I kept an eye on them as to see what they would do and one of the workers just picked everything up in there that hit the floor and put it back on the tray to serve. Uhm, the tray is plastic. As in. its disposable. Then after that I saw one of the cooks come out the kitchen holding a piece of tempura with no glove and putting it in the bento box to serve as well. They apparently have an A for the ratings but I don’t see how. Overall, the 3 stars are for the food. Other than, I wouldn’t come back unless I was desperate for cheap sushi.

Let’s not kid ourselves. This place is not a five star sushi restaurant but it’s not as bad as some of the comments mentioned in the reviews. For the price you pay, this place is pretty solid. Come here if you want to avoid the long lines or just come here to pick up the catering box for house parties. Here is the breakdown of my review: Place: It’s a small location with few seatings. It’s not like a typical sit-down restaurant because you can go up to the cash register to order. They have various options to choose from but I usually come here to do catering. In general, I do not see lines at all at this place so ordering should be quick and easy. Parking: Plenty of parking spaces since its located in a pretty big plaza so you do not have to struggle looking for spots. Food: The sushi is not that bad. Again, for the price you pay, this place is pretty solid. As a quick note, the freshness of the fish can be a hit or miss. i have been here 5 times and there was one time where I did not enjoy my food. From what I remembered, these our the items that I ordered: California Rolls — this one is ok. Nothing that jumps out on you. Spicy Tuna — this one isn’t bad Salmon — the salmon is pretty good Red Snapper — this is solid; I would recommend this Service: It’s ok. You order at the register. If you want to do the party trays, I suggest that you call in advance because it will take at least 30 minutes for them to prepare.

This place sucks. The quality was terrible, the fish wasn’t fresh at all. When I bit into the sushi it felt like I was biting into a salmon. I could see them getting fish that was wrapped in wax paper meaning not fresh and the rice was poor, it kept falling apart. The seaweed was bland and disgusting. Never again.

Great suhi as usual and imo better than yama sushi as the people there were rude and are just riding of mr yama’s success. I have no snobbery regarding sushi I just need it to be fresh. Customer service isn’t 100% but I am again rating off of how it tastes and the hand roll sand the onigiri tastes great! The only thing I dislike is the atmosphere as there was a lot of smoke and oil from cooking. Not a great sit down place but for the price and taste this totally hits the spot.

Hubby and I used to come here quite often to get our sushi fix. The prices were reasonable and the serving sizes are better than most Japanese restaurants. However, they changed their menu prices back in May of this year so we don’t frequent this place as often anymore. The prices are now priced just like any other restaurant and the service is quite slow. The serving sizes are still larger than other places so that’s a plus. Some days the sushi is really fresh and others not so much. It’s a hit and miss. I would suggest ordering ahead of time. They are a really small place usually run by two people… one cook and one other person doing everything else. They do the best they can though. If you dine in, the green tea ice cream with jellies at the end of your meal just hits the spot. But it only comes with certain meals.

My in-laws told hubby and I that they found a really good sushi place that we all must try together. They said they’ve ate there before and it was really good. Whenever my in-laws say a restaurant is really good that’s because… #1 the price is cheap…#2 portions are big…#3 price is cheap… oh wait! I think I already said price is cheap. So here we go giving the place a try. Came for lunch and the place was not pack edits only another table there before us. Place is small, but not a problem. We ordered our food and dishes slowly comes out. It definitely does not tastes fresh and the color of the fishes does not look fresh either. Hubby and i were both very cautious while eating, but my in-laws on the other hand was gobbling every last grain of rice and sauce. My stomach felt disgusted as the fishes were being disgusted in my stomach. I definitely will not be coming back here again. I should not feel scared eating at a restaurant like I have with this place.

I came here because I wanted to buy a party tray for a pot luck and Sushi in the Box has decent prices for a fair amount of sushi. They have 6 party platters to choose from $ 24 to $ 46 depending on the number of pieces. I chose a platter with 16 cali roll, 4 tuna sushi, 4 salmon sushi, 4 red snapper sushi and 3 shrimp sushi for $ 25. I didn’t expect the quality to be top notch but it turned out better than I expected! I was thinking cold hard pieces of fish but it was actually decent. This place probably isn’t ideal for me to come regularly but I think if I need to bring a party tray in the future I will take Sushi in the Box to consideration.

My family stopped eating from Sushi in the Box for a long time, but seeing that they had expanded, my mom came to the conclusion that if a restaurant can last that long and expand, it should be pretty good. Found the menu on-line and decided to call in and order so we wouldn’t have to wait when picking up the food. We ordered a California roll(8 pieces) and an 8 piece tuna roll(apparently they usually don’t make tuna rolls, only spicy tuna, but were willing to make one order) and a salmon onigiri. They said the food should be ready in about 15 – 20 minutes. I called at about 12:45. We got there at 1:05. Apparently they hadn’t made the onigiri yet and that took 10 minutes to make. I didn’t and still don’t understand why it took so long. It basically took about 30 minutes for a few pieces of sushi. The total wasn’t too bad … around $ 12 but they only accept credit card on purchases above $ 20. The California roll was the best out of all the things we tried. Lots of crabmeat and tasted really fresh. The tuna roll had a very dark sheen to the tuna — not pink, but more like an old black fading pink color. It looked old; maybe that’s why they only stick to spicy tuna so that their mayonnaise sauce can cover up that sheen. The fish didn’t taste fresh. I believe the tuna rolls caused me my upset stomach. And the salmon onigiri? The salmon to rice ratio was horrible! Maybe 1:10 … the salmon was a bit overcooked, had no taste and overpowered by the amount of rice. The seaweed lacked flavor … the whole thing was disappointing. The lunch specials look promising, but I don’t know if I’ll dare come back to give this place another try. Not sure how they managed to open up more Sushi in the Boxes, but I won’t be visiting them anytime soon.

I came here because I was craving sushi for less than $ 10. The rolls here are standard prices between $ 6-$ 9, but the dinner deal was pretty great. For $ 7.99, you can choose a meat of your choice, and get miso soup, rice, salad, four California rolls, two sashimi, and green tea ice cream with rainbow jelly. If you get a separate roll, that is enough food for two people! One downside is the restaurant is Chinese-owned, which means the sashimi isn’t as pretty as if it were cut by a Japanese chef, which also makes me worry if the kitchen is sanitary to a Japanese restaurant standards. The food takes a long time, with one chef and one cashier taking orders and serving food. If i don’t hear of people getting sick from here, then I guess I’ll keep on coming!
