Pooch and Groom

We purchased a Yorkie from Pooch & Groom about 10 months ago. Ellie just turned 1 recently and has been coming here for grooming a couple of times now. Candace and David did a very good job in running their shop. If you are looking for a puppy or your dog needs grooming, you should go here.

Although I did not purchase a puppy from Pooch & Groom, I did stop by to look at them. The store is very clean inside. All the puppies are stored away behind glass windows and were all very lively once they spotted me. This was a good sign and indication that they were healthy. The owner allowed me inside and let me hold and play with the puppies of my choosing one at a time. Each time I was instructed to sanitize my hands to make sure nothing was passed on from puppy to puppy. The puppies were adorable, but the price for them was definitely out of my price range. It’s definitely a legit store in my book and if I were to decide to get a puppy this would be one of my options.

I bought a maltipoo puppy two days ago, I really enjoyed spending time with my dog for a little bit before I took her home with me. So far so good! She is only about 8 weeks old and when I got her she is already potty trained, so she is very easy to manage. I’m glad that I found her at pooch and groom!

This is a great place! Super nice couple that runs this business. The store has adorable puppies for sale and the grooming is done exceptionally well! Our dog never has problems going there. He’s been extremely nervous at other places but feels at home here! I’m so glad they’re so close to home! Would recommend them to anyone!

David made the puppy buying process less nerve wrecking. He was quick on returning my texts. I was able to pick up my puppy same day. Great customer service

Today was our first time here. My little one got groomed and got lavender aromatherapy. I couldn’t be any happier!!! He looks great and smells delicious! This will be our little one’s grooming salon from now on.

I purchased a Pomeranian from Pooch and Groom about 8 months ago. The dog couldn’t be anymore adorable! I have taken him to the vet and he is healthy. I also got him DNA tested and he is a purebred Pomeranian like they said and he does not have any genetic problems. He is a little bigger than they had estimated but I know there is no way to tell the exact weight the puppy will be.
Overall I am very happy with the purchase and the dog is great!

My husband and I always wanted a dog and we finally decided that it was the right time to add another member to our family. After stalking the pooch and groom website for a couple days, we saw a picture of an adorable MalShi named Grinch (who we now call Milo) and instantly fell in love. We headed over to look at him in person and knew that we found the perfect fit.
The owners of the pet shop are great– super nice, hands on and not pushy in any way. You can tell they actually care for their puppies because they know each of the puppies’ different personalities and try to match you with a buddy that matches your personality. We were looking for a mild mannered pup that didn’t bark too much and Milo has just been that. We’ve had Milo for a month now and we’ve never had any health issues with him. He also came potty trained and we’ve been taking him back for his shots every few weeks which has been really convenient.
I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to add to their family. The puppies are SOOO cute (I’m always tempted to buy another one whenever I drop by) and the owners are awesome. 5 solid stars!

I just bought my new family member Pillow today! He is a pure white Morkie :) David who is the owner here is very knowledgeable and responsible. The shop is releatively small but all the puppies are very happy and socialized. Pillow is about 80 percent pad trained but I believe he will get better as time goes on. Pillow’s temperament is very mellow and clam which is accurately described on their web page. Before I came in today I was a little afraid that pillow might not be a good fit for me but Im so glad I took this little guy home!
I highly recommend this puppy shop!

Our first experience with David and Candice was exceptional. We were able to text David to schedule an appointment for grooming our Pomeranian without any problems. I suggest scheduling at least 1 – 2 weeks in advance as they get booked up quickly. Upon arrival the first thing we noticed was that it was very clean and it was not smelly like the majority of most pet stores. We could tell that David and Candice took great care of their puppies and we are considering purchasing our second puppy from them in the future. We were able to get a $ 5 off discount for grooming by checking in on Unilocal so I suggest you guys take advantage of that. We ended up getting a teddy bear cut for our Pomeranian, he came out looking very adorable and he smelled great as well. More importantly, he did not seem stressed out from the grooming encounter as well. We would definitely recommend coming to David and Candice for grooming as well as for adopting a puppy. All in all, we were very satisfied with their service and plan on coming back for future grooming.

Our experience with David and the staff at Pooch and Groom has been nothing short of excellent. The owners there are friendly and knowledgeable, the establishment is clean, not to mention that we’re thrilled to have our new family addition, Butter Scotch! She’s an Olde English Bulldogge that our family simply adores! Thank you for P&G for everything and we look forward to visiting your office again soon for her last check up! :)

I went in last week to see Ferrari, a French Bulldog pup. She had dried diarrhea caked all up and down her butt, what looked to be dirt in her ears, and green mucus coming from her nose when she sneezed. Yes, she was also sneezing. The poodle pup that was in the same glass box with her had crusted eyes, and did not look well in general. It was heartbreaking for me to see.

Really cute puppy. I got a poodle and looks gorgeous. The services was also good. He gave me a lot of stuff and my puppy seems happy now.
The shop is super clean, not too many dogs in one cage, and they close early at 6pm so they get good rest

I adopted a Yorkiepoo from Pooch and Groom. It was even better than the pictures and the temperament description was accurate. It was an excellent experience. David does an excellent job answering all questions you can think of and this was my first time and I though he was very thorough. I was trying to think of an area where I felt there could be some improvement in the process and couldn’t think of anything. The process was streamlined and very transparent. He makes himself more than available and continues to offer assistance after you receive your new puppy. Highly recommended !

Omg. as a first time dog owner, this place has made it beyond easy. David has been available, helpful, and all around patient with my many, many questions.
Our maltipoo, pumpkin, is so darn cute and has been doing pretty amazing these first two weeks in our home :) we look forward to our on going relationship with pooch and groom for all of our vaccinations and grooming needs for our baby!

I have been wanting a maltese, toy poodle or maltipoo for over a year now. I have researched and talked to breeders. Finally, hubby’s friend Carl told us to go where he got his two yorkies.
We drove out to Pooch and Groom not knowing what to expect. I was happy to know that the website says that they get the dogs from small breaders that they know.
I wanted a small companion dog but I also want to walk at least an entire block with my dog. I liked two male maltipoos. One was black & white, the other white and crème. I asked hubby which one I should get. He answered, «Get both.» As soon as he said it, I knew that was the right thing to do.
David gave me all of the instructions about feeding, keeping them safe etc. It was closing time and he was very patient with my many questions. He warned us that we wouldn’t sleep the first week with a puppy, but they were so quiet and happy with eachother.
P and G will help with ongoing vaccinations. I appreciate that savings.

I love my Pomeranian purchased from pooch and groom. However, when I purchased him, I was told that the puppy has already been potty trained. It turns out that he was not trained at all and pees/​poops everywhere in my apt. I have to take him to training at a pooch training center which costs me extra 200 dollars, which is fine. I just wish I could be told the truth so I didn’t have to spend so much time cleaning his feces and urine everyday.:/

It was time for Tobi’s (maltipoo) first haircut, and I wanted to take him somewhere that I feel I can trust. As you can see with Unilocal,dog groomers are a plenty here in the 626 area so finding one was going to be a challenge.
We checked out a few spots before my roommate had recommended me to this place. Once we arrived we were greeted by the friendly staff and told us about our options. There is aroma therapy here to soothe the dogs before the cut, we chose the lavender scent and relayed what kind of style we wanted for Tobi. The final decision was the «teddy bear» cut.
It took about 1 hour and 20 minutes and the cut was amazing. They got all of the knots out and his coat was voluminous. Would definitely come back and highly recommend this groomer.

Candice and David are very professional and helpful.
Last week, they help us to find a puppy my mom loves.
Obviously, Candice and David take very good care for all their puppies, so their puppies are always happy, lively and full of energy.
In the future, if we want to buy another puppy, this store will be my family first choice!

I’m super, suuuper picky about my dog’s hair so when I found out Kandice was leaving Olympic Pet Shop to open her own place in Temple City, I knew I’d have to start trekking out there to get my shih tzu groomed. It’s hard to find a good groomer and it’s a fine line between a cute and elegant haircut and a PetSmart buzzcut. Cutting dog hair is an ART and I need a good haircut for my dog. He’s got Instagram fans!
I made an appointment for opening day at Pooch and Groom and brought my dog Lardon out. The shop itself looks very new and clean, with tile floors, a display of dog toys, accessories, and food on the left, and on the right is a WALL of puppies! They had a slew of puppies available, including a lot of tiny Yorkies, two little Pomeranians, an adorable tiny baby French bulldog, and a few others.
Anyway, my dog loves Kandice and pees whenever he sees her so he wasn’t too upset to be left behind. They have dog aromatherapy available so I picked the lemon scent and then left to go get dim sum. It worked out really well, timing-​wise. We ate, stopped by the grocery store and while we were there, they called saying we could come pick up Lardon in about 30 minutes. He seemed pretty chill and happy when we went to pick him up and apparently our hyper little devil dog was really well behaved, even while he was in the «pet dry room» which is some fancy infrared dry room that disperses the aromatherapy scent. It looks like a pet sauna. My spoiled little fluff…
As for his haircut, we keep his body short and his legs and paws long and fluffy, and I’m very particular about the way his face is cut. Perfectly round around the mouth and short enough hair over his eyes so he can see but in such a way that it’s not completely shorn on his forehead. There’s like a bit of overhang on his forehead and it takes finesse to do. You can see in my photos. They have a lot of different styles available and even doggy hair dye if you’re feeling adventurous.
I’ll definitely keep driving all the way from Koreatown to Temple City because I don’t want anyone else to cut my dog’s hair. Highly recommend!
