An exceedingly rare example of a mechanic you can put your 100% trust in. Jack will go out of his way to do it right with the least money coming out of pocket. I had my older Porsche as a daily driver for 5 years, and he’s helped me out with rides, tows, etc.
You’ll never have to worry about add-​on maintenance as an upsell or questionable practices. All the mechanics are great too!

Jack is the man. Came to my house to pick up my friend’s 964 which I couldn’t get to shift gears (Jack could, FYI). Nicest guy. If you live in the Phoenix area and need your 9’er worked on, Jack’s your man.

I have used jack’s shop for twenty years. Jack and his team have serviced seven of my Porsches over that time — I trust them completely to maintain and repair my cars. if I could give them ten stars I would.
You should feel at ease taking your car there. The fact there always are cars there indicates how loyal his customer base is. They are incredibly friendly and Jack makes it a point to get to know you.

Can’t say enough about this place. Jack and his team are honest business owners and enthusiasts who take the time to understand what you are trying to accomplish with your car. Wether you are restoring or maintaining a driver this is the place to go. Will be using them for all my Porsche needs in the future.

If I could give Jack’s shop more than 5 stars I would! I have been looking my entire life to buy an air cooled 911, particularly one from 1977. Only in the last few years has the acquisition become possible for me. During these last few years, I read reviews on the best shops in Phoenix/​Tempe/​Scottsdale and I found Stuttgart Southwest. I called this place at least 4 times and asked questions about prospective cars I found online or on Craigslist. EACH time, Jack, the owner, would answer all my questions, tell me his honest opinion and I never gave them an ounce of business or even met him. To a complete stranger on the phone he gave his time and actually told me what he thought at no charge… repeatedly. I was so impressed by his willingness to provide me, someone he never met, guidance, that I was adamant that when I did buy my car I would bring it to him. That was the BEST thing I could have done.
I recently bought the car of my dreams and I finally got to meet Jack and his amazing team of specialists. They provided me with a four hour inspection of my car, at a very reasonable price (I know pricing because on the East Coast I used to race and pay to get air cooled Porsche race cars repaired with my brother), and gave me a completely thorough and detailed breakdown of every aspect of my car. Peace of mind has never been more of an understatement. Each member of the team met with me and told me what they thought… Cliff, John, Phil, and Jack himself. These guys are truly experts and the passion they have for Porsche comes through in their work.
I purchased the car and had some work done on it (fuel lines re-​done, vacuum hose to break booster fixed, clutch/​915 gear box adjustment, cigarette lighter fixed, a small rubber piece re-​glued to the door jam) and I could not be happier. I drove the car to California and it drove like a charm. And if that wasn’t enough, Jack gave me his phone number in case anything did actually happen. So, as I said earlier, if I could give this gem in Tempe more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!

If you have a Porsche, particularly an older one, and you’re in the market for a quality repair shop look no further. My family has two 911’s a 1987 cabriolet and an 05′ 997 coupe, both have been cared for by the team at Stuttgart SW for several years now and we would go absolutely nowhere else is the Phoenix metro area. Jack and his team are honest, dependable, and come highly recommended (we learned about this shop via word of mouth). If you’re curious as to the quality of the work, drive by the shop and look at the cars on the lot or in those service bays, Porsches from all eras line the parking lot.

Jack is simply the most honest mechanic! He has been servicing my Boxster and has always done an excellent job at a reasonable price. When my convertible top broke awhile back, he was able to fix it for significantly less than the dealer. It’s great to visit his shop to see so many Porsche’s from all different years. If you own a Porsche, don’t take it anywhere else!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Stuttgart. I have known Jack for over 10 years now and can wholeheartedly say he has to be one of the kindest and most honest people I have ever met. Another post above stated it well saying that he cares about the cost almost as much as the customer does. I have always felt that as well. His fees are always less than the dealership and always higher quality and workmanship. In a car repair world where you rarely trust the mechanic this is truly the opposite of that. Jack is the best. Actually my car is currently in his body shop which Phil runs, I have no doubt my care will be stellar. I only wish there was a 6 star option in this Unilocal review. Quality work and quality service. Jack’s shop recently upgraded my IMS bearing on my 996, along with a new clutch, RMS, and spark plug cable tubes. I was very happy with the service and the fact I was able to stop by and see everything apart. I also think Jack is as concerned about how much you are spending on your project as you are.
I will be one of Stuttgart Southwest’s repeat customers from now on.

I’ve done business with Jack at Stuttgart Southwest since 1998. During that time, he’s had many opportunities to cheat me out of thousands of dollars. Never. Happened. I’d be expecting… an engine rebuild. And get a call from a very cheery Jack, telling me the «Good news! It’s only a… [insert weird German part here].» Order of magnitude less expensive. Honesty, in this case, is worth tens of thousands of dollars.
I can and frequently do work on my own cars, but when it’s over my head, or I have no time, they go to Jack.
Now, on to the body shop. Phil is the manager there, and he’s magical. Bent and broken things wind up coming out better than they were when they went in. People take their high end Porsches and Mercedes and classic cars (one was a pro baseball player’s pride and joy) to him for *restoration* and *modification* — not just collision repair — and that is a HUGE difference from the run of the mill «fender knocker» place.
If you have a vehicle of ANY make or model, and you really care that the vehicle gets fixed RIGHT, this is the place.
Stop by his shop (always some nice cars), and see the wall full of Christmas cards from decades of customers who appreciate Jack’s service, and consider him a friend.

Jack, is the owner. He’s always done great work for me at a great price. I took my car to Scottsdale Porsche once and wasn’t happy with the service. Came here and got great service. He also wont do work that doesn’t need to be done. He is usually super busy though, I had to wait about a week to get in. I wont go anywhere else!

Has been a family favorite. Many years ago my car had some damage from someone backing into it in a parking lot. I ran around to 9 different auto body shops and after talking with everyone I picked this place. They were not the cheapest or the most expensive. What I liked was that they were going to do the job right. My back corner panel needed to be repainted. They had my rear backseat window removed to make sure I wouldn’t have any paint peeling years later.
Last month I was involved in an accident from someone rearending me on the freeway. Right away I knew where I wanted to take it. My car is there now and when I get it back I will be adding some pictures.
They are honest and do a great job. I have recommended this place to many people they are always happy. Highly recommend Stuttgart Southwest if you are ever in need of auto body repair.
