History

Established in 1981.

In 1981, Bill Larson, a design professor at Arizona State University, began G. William Larson Associates, Inc., with the goal of becoming a top land planning and landscape architecture firm in the Phoenix area. His company’s foundation was built upon relationships with clients, community members and municipalities. Through those relationships, G. William Larson Associates, Inc. became a leader in master planned communities through the sensitive design and development in the Scottsdale and Fountain Hills areas.

In 1986, his former student, Steven Voss, joined the company and became full owner in 1993. In 1998, Alan Beaudoin joined LVA, bringing with him a wealth of industry knowledge in the broader Phoenix market. He became a Partner in 2001 and LVA’s Principal in 2006.

Business Owner

Steven Voss joined LVA Urban Design Studio, LLC. in 1986 and

became full owner and President in 1993. Voss graduated from Arizona

State University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Design (Land

Planning Emphasis) and Landscape Architecture and from Iowa State

University in 1986 with a Master of Landscape Architecture, with an

emphasis in environmental resource analysis, planning and management.

With over 30 years in the industry, Voss’ expertise includes master planning, zoning entitlements, environmental analysis, visioning, place making and real estate evaluations.

Voss’ professional experience includes projects pertaining to master planned communities, resorts, golf course planning, hospital campus planning and design, educational campus planning, mixed use master planning, vertical

mixed use planning, large scale city planning, commercial, industrial, site design and landscape design.
