Desert Computer Solutions

I found Desert Computer Solutions through a Craigslist ad when I was looking for an inexpensive iMac to do some IT training with. When I got there I was disappointed to find out they had no more left in stock but the sales tech was willing to sell me the floor model they had on display when I asked him to do so.
The price was marked $ 399 and I immediately noticed that the computer didn’t have the same storage that was advertised but it really didn’t matter that much to me. When I got it home I had some Apple ID issues with the PC and wasn’t able to use some basic features since this PC had been set up with a different ID than my own.
Sunday, the next day trying to troubleshoot the issues with Apple Support, I quickly found out that I couldn’t download the OS X to reinstall it myself, probably due to the mismatch in Apple IDs and would need to install from another disk. I also discovered that the computer I received didn’t have all the specs listed on my cash invoice and immediately thought this was a «bait and switch» so I started shopping the specs on NewEgg and Amazon and found that I may have paid $ 50 to $ 100 more than I needed to.
I was willing to keep the PC if I were to get a discount but Jennifer explained that they have a one set price for all their 20“iMacs regardless of the internal specs. After negotiating with her via email she agreed that I could return the iMac for a full refund even after I had wiped the entire thing clean and it needing a complete reinstallation.
Their store policy is that every customer has the ability to test the computer before leaving the store and all sales are final. Since their showroom is kind of small I would recommend you bring a chair and sit down and drive the computer for a half hour, open everything you can, re-​boot and check to see if your Apple ID allows you to open iMessage or Facetime before leaving the store.
This PC was a funny duck and was for showroom display only so I do not believe that they could have known about my Apple ID issues or the discrepancy in the invoice since they were out of stock on that model and believe it was an honest mistake.

I called Desert Computer Solutions after leaving the Microsoft Store disappointed in a 55 day minimum wait time for repair on a new keyboard for my laptop. My first impression with Desert Computer Solutions was positive after speaking with George, he gave me a quote over the phone based off my laptop model number and said he would overnight the keyboard so I could have it back within 4 days. I brought the laptop in hoping for that to actually happen, which it did not. I was given a $ 100 additional quote than what I was told over the phone and it was expected to take about 2 additional days to get it back. I was disappointed with this and let the man know that is not what I was promised from the get go. He assured me it costed more due to the model of the laptop, etc. I drove over an hour to get to Desert Computer Solutions and left with my fingers crossed that I would get a call soon to pick up. After 6 days, I heard nothing and called day 6 – 9 until it was finally ready for pick up Day 10. When I arrived to pick up, some of the keys still did not work, they were flattened. When I pointed this out, the manager said the key worked it was just flat. Um. for $ 150 I want the laptop keyboard to be flawless. I said so, and they «popped» it out.
I do not recommend Desert Computer Solutions unless you need work done on a computer you do not primarily use. They really seemed to be in no hurry and seemed unorganized.

I was honestly shocked by how positive my experience of purchasing was, in AZ you get use to the culture of underperformance. This place is different. The laptop I bought paid for itself the moment I bought it.(It came with a lot of extras). Add to that the fact that the sales staff ACTUALLY KNEW A LOT ABOUT THE PRODUCT I WANTED TO BUY! Needless to say, the low prices completed a very pleasant experience.

Christopher and his employees are awesome. They installed the data network in our new office, and continued to help us set up our office network even after their initial install. We also purchased some incredibly low priced computer monitors from them that work great!

I thought my computer was done and I was going to have to live with all of my files and photos gone. They were able to fix my computer and retrieve all my files! So thankful. I also purchased a MacBook at a great deal. Thank you so much Desert Computer Solutions! Super helpful employees. I definitely recommend.

I recently took my computer into Desert Computer Solutions with a critical error message and apparent virus infection. Their team quickly diagnosed the error code and removed the virus within 24 hours. I was impressed with their quality of service, how quickly they seamlessly transferred all my data onto my new computer, and how reasonably priced their services are.

I’ve been a customer of Desert Computer Solutions for a couple of years now. I’ve had viruses removed from an old desktop, bought multiple computers (both laptop & desktop), and my brother’s Contracting business has bought numerous computers. Everything has been fantastic and the service top notch. Very happy to recommend Desert Computer Solutions.

I’m from out of town and my laptop screen died, or at least that was my own diagnosis, found this place on Unilocal.
The guy started writing up my order for an estimate, eg to leave my laptop there, and then stopped, took it over to a monitor, hooked it up, and on the spot verified it was my screen on the laptop. I decided to do nothing at the time, so left. No charge.
After calling around, decided for the time I was in Tempe, I’d just get an external monitor and worry about repair of my laptop later. So went back to this place, different guy was there. They sold me a $ 40 monitor I could use.
All in all, found them straight up which was appreciated.

Desert Computer Solutions was helpful from start to finish. I randomly found them online. When I called I got Jennifer, and she was more than happy to talk me through my immediate needs. Then, because she made me feel so comfortable with her knowledge I used them next day for some other issues I had with another computer.
At the end of all of this I can honestly say I am huge fan and advocate. If you’re like me and don’t want just any person on my computer! Needs to be someone with a solid background, knows their stuff and you can build trust with. Desert Computer Solutions is the right choice. They are fast, polite, point out things you may have otherwise not thought of or known and they just get it done.

They did a fast, free diagnostic on my old computer, letting me know the motherboard wasn’t worth fixing.
I returned feeling kind of bad that an honest, local, small business like this wouldn’t get any kind of reimbursement for their trouble (I’ll be back with any future repair needs)!

Had a damaged/​cracked iphone called and asked turn around time, was told by Jennifer definitely done in a day. Dropped it off at 8am, confirmed turn around time and was told yeah it’ll be done by 5pm no problem. Show up and was told it wasn’t finished, 20 more mins or less. Jennifer said should only take two hours tops for an iphone fix. 35 mins later it’s fixed. I get $ 9.49 off the bill. Time is valuable. Won’t come back.

Walked in with a very damaged IPhone and picked up my phone in just an hour crack-​free! Awesome and quick service. The front desk is also very friendly and helpful!

They sell JUNK and know it. Chris is dishonest and doesn’t honor warranty.
UPDATE: I have since taken the computer to Orchard to truly find out what a total piece of junk was sold from Desert Computer Solutions. Too many problems and is only good for scrap.

At work we received available coupons for businesses near our location. Desert computers was one of them. They offered a free tune up which is a savings of $ 40. I’m not at all computer savvy and thought I would bring in my laptop to see if we can make it run faster. The computer service was just fine. The only thing that would have helped the experience would be a more welcoming front desk. Although the woman was helpful, it seemed as if I was a bother.

I’ve gone to Desert Computer Solutions twice in less than 1 year– first time, I purchased a refurbished Apple MacBook Pro and just recently– a PC laptop for work. I could not be happier with both items. High quality at affordable prices. The service has been great every time. I highly recommend them.

Chris (the owner) is great! He offered us a free computer tune up when we came in, and was very helpful and knowledgable. I love the location and the great refurbished computer deals they have. I’ll be getting my second used computer from there soon!

Pretty good company!
I brought my desktop in because it would not play cd/dvd’s anymore. They checked it out and called me with the repair quote later that day. I checked around, called a couple of other repair companies and found out that their cost estimate was more than reasonable.
The did not overcharge me or do unnecessary repairs.
They had my computer done the very next day and it works great.

Never asking me for payment or even telling me what was going on. This is not the type of business you want to deal with. Police report filed, investigation started with Phoenix PD. He’s a snake.
