We are a full service optometric office providing eye care for the entire family in a comfortable and relaxed setting. We specialize in providing the patient all possible options that best suits their specific individual needs.
Our office specializes in vision training/therapy. We provide evaluation, as well as, therapeutic services, working with children and adults who have problems using their eyes together efficiently and those who have visually– related learning problems.
History
Established in 1990.
Dr. Winkelstein established the practice in November of 1990 in the Palomar Village Shopping Center and has maintained the practice there for almost 22 years.
Meet the Business Owner
Dr. Alan W.
Business Owner
Dr. Alan M. Winkelstein is originally from the Bronx in New York and graduated high school in suburban Parsippany, New Jersey. He received his BA in Environmental & Organismal Biology from the State University of New York @ Buffalo in May 1980. In May 1984, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree Cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He then completed a residency in Pediatric Optometry/Binocular Vision at The Eye Institute at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in July 1985. He then obtained a teaching position at the Southern California College of Optometry, where he was a full-time assistant professor for 5 years and then taught an additional 7 years part-time.
Dr. Winkelstein has been an active member of the community over the years in various organizations, but the majority of his time is currently spent serving on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County, the Temecula Lions Club and Lions Club District 4-L5.
