Stephen Sweigart has practiced state and federal criminal defense since 1997 throughout Northern California, Northern Utah and Southern California. In 2010, Mr. Sweigart moved to Temecula, California with his wife and three daughters.

Mr. Sweigart won his first murder trial at age 27, becoming one of the only living lawyers to win a First Degree Murder Trial as their first trial out of law school. Most lawyers would not and have not even attempted such a thing.

Mr. Sweigart was court appointed death penalty counsel at age 30, then among the youngest California court appointed death penalty lawyers.

As recently as 2012, MR. Sweigart won three Life trials (Riverside and Los Angeles Counties), including two murder trials.

Although most cases are plea bargained, having an excellent trial lawyer on your side often results in the best deals.
