History
Established in 1964.
In 1906, Ferdinand Rosati, a recent immigrant from Italy, moved to Chicago and founded a fine Italian restaurant on Taylor Street. Back in those days, pizza was strictly old-world fare, simply a tomato sauce served on crisp bread. In 1927, Ferdinand’s son Saverio opened another restaurant in Chicago and was a popular gathering place and was frequented by such notable names as Al Capone, Jack Haley, and Eliot Ness. The year was 1964 and pizza was catching on. The Rosati family saw its potential and realized they had the kind of pizza product that would make the most of that potential. Rosati grandsons opened stores in the suburbs and it was an immediate success. Many more locations opened and by 1993 there were over 50 restaurants in three states. Today, the brand is approaching over 200 stores around the country– one of the newest being the Temecula store.
