Rachel Jay Photography

We absolutely LOVED working with Rachel and Jessica. We are both not crazy about having our pictures taken and are uncomfortable in front of the camera. Not with Rachel and her team! They made us feel so incredibly comfortable, we forgot they were taking pictures of us! The pictures were STUNNING, there are really no words for how beautiful they are. Rachel sent us a preview the next morning, which was incredible since we were antsy to see them! I wouldn’t have wanted to trade Rachel and her team with anyone else and am SO happy that we chose them. She made us feel comfortable from day one when we began e-​mailing each other and even did a consultation session on the phone before our wedding. During the hectic and stressful time of planning a wedding, having the calmness and support of Rachel and her team was incredibly helpful. I could go on and on but in other words: If you are looking for stunning pictures and a photography team that will make you feel comfortable on your wedding day, pick Rachel!

This review is a little bit over due, but life just went by so quickly. I was just staring at my wonderful family pictures that Rachel took and I just had to jump on the computer to type up a review. I love her!!! Rachel is a wonderful photographer — not just for the beautiful pictures she took, but also how comfortable she made me and my girls feel when she was taking our pictures. She knew how to make us relax and not be so stiff like we usually are in most of our normal pictures. She is not the first photographer we have used, but she will be the one we will continue to use for our future family pictures or any pictures from now on. My only regret is that I wished I had found her when I got married last year as our wedding photographer.
If anyone is looking for a photographer — look no further… you will LOVE the pictures she takes of you!!! And her wonderful personality. :)

I had a feeling I’d be back writing another 5-​star review for Rachel and I was right! Our wedding photo experience was just as fun and seamless as the engagement photos, which I consider quite a feat considering we had 120 people at the wedding, and only two of us at the engagement shoot!
I cannot express how evident Rachel’s passion for photography is, and how she is able to bring the best out of people and capture those moments on film. She has a natural talent for sure– I remember at one point we were all walking and she said, «Wait. Stop. The light here is perfect.» And we took pictures that turned out gorgeous, with the light shining just right in between the trees and above the 1891 school house that was the bridal suite. She also made every step of the process easy. She cared about what was important to us but also gave us advice based on years of experience.
A lot of people worked with my now-​husband and I to make our wedding run smoothly, but I will definitely never forget Rachel, her beautiful photography, and the influence she had on us– giving us an opportunity to slow down and ENJOY being engaged and getting married.
Having Rachel and her team as photographers is like having a small group of good friends– very talented friends!

I’ve been photographing weddings for over eight years, so when I got engaged, choosing the right photographer was an incredibly difficult decision. I know so many amazing photographers, but I ultimately chose Rachel because of the whole experience that came with her services. It is so important to me that I have a smooth and stress free wedding day, and I’ve worked by Rachel’s side and seen her in action to know well enough that I’m going to be able to relax once she walks into my bridal suite the day of.
This week she photographed mine and Justin’s engagement session, and it was nothing short of amazing. Not only am I in love with the images, I think the whole experience of the shoot made me fall in love with Justin all over again. Rachel and her team made us feel «us» and captured every moment of it. We had the blessing of a full-​styled engagement session, fancy red-​carpet dress and all. It felt like the prelude to our wedding day (and it actually flew by like one too). Rachel surpassed my expectations. The biggest plus was Justin’s perception of her. He hates having his photos taken, but she made him feel so comfortable and relaxed that he mentioned afterwards how happy he is that she is shooting our wedding.
I could go on, but I’ll have to save that for after our wedding. :) Rachel is a gym, and if you hire her for your wedding or boudoir session you’ll be so happy you did once you experience the joy of being her client.

I had the opportunity to work with Rachel as the MUA for some of her boudoir clients and after hearing such good things from the models I decided to book a boudoir shoot myself. I’m usually a pretty shy and reserved person, but her clients were telling me that Rachel makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera that I’d want to do it again and again, and they were so very right! Rachel made me feel very comfortable, so at ease, and natural in front of the camera. I’ve done fitness photo shoots with other photographers before, but having Rachel guide me from behind the camera really made everything so much easier and put any previous photographers I’ve worked with to shame! She directed my movements for each shot since I’ve never done a boudoir shoot before, and I almost felt as if I was a real model! I highly recommend this wonderful photographer to anyone considering doing a boudoir shoot. I’ve also seen other work from her website from engagement shoots and weddings and those look equally amazing! Thanks for making this shoot such a great experience, Rachel! I hope to shoot with you again one day!

My experience working with Rachel was AMAZING! I can’t tell you enough how wonderful my experience was. It was my first boudoir session I’d ever booked, and I was very nervous. I didn’t know what to expect, and I was nervous about being photographed. However, all of that went out the door when I met Rachel and we started my boudoir session. Her and her assistant were absolutely wonderful at making me feel comfortable in my own skin. They took initiative in helping me with poses when I felt shy at first, and by the end I felt like a million bucks. I didn’t want the session to end. There is something so empowering about feeling sexy in a classy way and Rachel made the experience for my boudoir session just that for me. She was professional, yet warm and friendly. She made sure the logistics and the business part was set and taken care of, and also made me feel like a beautiful woman. I enjoyed every part of the session, and the overall experience. In addition to that, she sent sneak peaks for me in a timely manner, since I was too excited to wait too long. She had excellent communication skills in working with me prior to and after session, until the very end. In addition to that, my photos and the book I ordered turned out amazing! I highly recommend… and/​or insist that you book her services for a boudoir session, or any other session for that matter. You will be so happy you did! I am definitely booking another boudoir session and the future, as well as a session to celebrate my husband and I’s anniversary!

Where do I begin, Rachel is honestly the best at what she does. Not only does she take AMAZING photos but she makes you feel beautiful! I had the privilege of shooting both Boudoir and my wedding with her and her wonderful team!
Let’s start with Boudoir–
I am a very shy person about my body and had to warm up to the idea of taking these photos for my future husband… But Rachel made me feel so comfortable! Her photos made me feel so beautiful and caught a side of me I had never seen before. I gave my album to my husband the night before our wedding and he was so excited and blown away because he too was surprised I had it in me:) lol
Rachel made me feel at ease and let me know what to do and when and I could just relax! I got my photos very quickly and she always responded the same day with any questions I had! Everyone who has photos done is always so antsy to get them back and she was so good about it! I recommend her for any photos you need done!
Wedding day–
Rachel and her wonderful team got to the venue an hour early:) Which I loved because I am a very punctual person and I never had to worry about timing because she had an itinerary. Again I was at ease on my wedding day because she had everything under control. I don’t know how many people from that day came up to us and asked who my photographer was because she was just so great! After our wedding she posted 15 photos to my Facebook shortly after which I loved! And I am so excited to receive the rest!
I would recommend Rachel to anyone! Her photos are so beautiful! If I could I would rate her 10 stars!

Rachel is an awesome photographer. A friend had taken Boudoir photos with her and I was definitely interested in a session after seeing how amazing they came out. When the next session was announced I quickly reserved a spot. I had never done Boudoir photos before and thought it would be a cool thing to have them for myself to look at in the future. I was kind of nervous at first but Rachel and her assistant made things so fun that the nervousness went away. I’m not really one to know how to pose or what faces to make during certain poses so them trying to make me laugh and smile at certain times helped out a lot! What’s cool is that I got to have back to back sessions with my friends so that made it even more enjoyable. I would definitely do another Boudoir session with Rachel… in fact, I’m hoping to in the future. I wouldn’t go with any other photographer. She and her assistant were the best and very professional and the pictures came out phenomenal! I’ve recommended her to a few other friends and hope they’ll try her out too.

Rachel is super amazing. I did a boudoir session with her and she made me feel super comfortable. I was really nervous before doing it. She makes you feel beautiful and she tells you whats the best way to pose to make you look the prettiest. Rachel is super flexible and will work with you. Best wedding gift for my husband and he loved it. DO IT don’t be nervous.

Hands down the best choice I have made in my wedding journey is my boudoir session with Rachel. I was on the fence about doing boudoir at all because of our tight budget, but I am so glad that I did. Seeing those image allowed me to view myself in a new light and I feel so confident because Rachel helped to capture me at my most beautiful. I was pretty nervous for the experience itself, but felt immediately at ease once I arrived at the hotel room. Rachel and her assistant Mary are so lovely and made the whole thing so much fun. I left feeling that even if the pictures didn’t turn out great it was worth it because of how much I enjoyed the shoot alone. But then I saw my gallery and the images were stunning! Not to mention the fact that she was able to work with my very tight timeline so that I would have the album before my wedding day. I am beyond impressed with Rachel Jay Photography, if you are considering booking a session with her, DO IT!

Rachel went above and beyond all of my expectations. My husband and I were in a complete panic to find a professional photographer to take our maternity pictures as we were quickly approaching the due date for our first baby. She was able to fit us into her very busy schedule within a couple of days which nobody else could do. She was extremely professional, helpful, affordable, creative, and made the whole process easy and stress free. My worries were put to rest when Rachel was full of amazing ideas and picked the perfect location for us. She is worth every penny and absolutely loves her job. We had a blast during the shoot and felt so comfortable. I am usually a very picky person when it comes to photographs, but Rachel’s work is phenomenal. We were more than happy with our photos and her attention to detail. The experience was very special and we would love to have her take more photos for us soon!

Wow. My girlfriend and I came to Rachel and asked her to take some photographs of us for the walls of our new apartment. This was the first time I had worked with a professional photographer, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect at first.
Not only did the photos come out AMAZING, we also had an awesome time taking them!
The girlfriend and I had a blast during the photo shoot. Rachel made us feel so comfortable, and any initial hesitation I had was cleared up instantly.
As a photographer, she was the consummate professional. It is clear that despite her silliness and smiles, she takes photography very seriously and is extremely concerned with the final product. Her attention to detail is made abundantly clear in the photos we received from her.

There are not enough words to describe how Amazing this young photographer is! I had the greatest time during my boudoir session with Rachel! Her and and assistant Mary made me feel so comfortable I didn’t want it to end! But not only was the session great, the pictures came out fabulous! Rachel had a phenomenal artistic eye & is such a joy to work with! I loved it so much I’m going back for more! Rachel also is very professional when it comes to communicating about everything when it comes to the shoot, ie emails, invoices, contracts! She’s great! I highly recommend her services! I definitely know I will be using her in the future!
