I’m very impressed with Dr. Petersen and his staff, office manager Jo and nurse Desiree. They genuinely care about me and I suspect all of their patients. Recently when I was experiencing serious health symptoms they made sure that I got to TVH immediately.
When we discussed my test results, the doctor listened respectfully. He allowed me to make lifestyle changes rather than forcing medications on me.
If you’re looking for a holistic doctor who is both intelligent and compassionate, check him out. I’m grateful that I did.

I have been a patient of Dr Petersen for several years. One of many things I like about his practice is that every time I call his office they can get me in within a couple of days! I like when you walk into the office his wonderful staff call me by name and know who I am. Dr Petersen is very professional and caring and has literally saved my life on two occasions with his professional diagnosis. I feel very confident and comfortable recommending him to everyone I know!

Absolutely, by far, one of the best Doctors in the area! I am a nurse and very picky who I see as a primary care Doctor especially since I work in the industry. I was referred to him a little over a year ago by a friend who has been going to him for years. I have been pleasantly surprised that I have never once had to experience long wait times like most medical offices having paients wait for hours due to them overbooking patients or doctors juggling several jobs and showing up late! Dr. Petersen, his wife and staff are so kind, polite and professional with the best bedside manner I have seen in a long, long time! I would highly recommend you trying them out if you are dissatisfied with your current medical provider! We recently had an insurance change and needed to choose a Primary Care Manager. Dr. Petersen was on the list so I chose him without doing extensive research because I needed my ongoing prescriptions and have recently had an issue with my cubital tunnel. I also needed a yearly exam and to establish a doctor patient relationship. The staff was friendly enough but the doctor didn’t do a full exam, didn’t even examine my hand, and decided it «sounded» like carpal tunnel syndrome from 5 feet away. I told him it was the wrong fingers for that and I could benefit from a cortisone shot and he told me I had to wear a wrist brace for 30 days first and then he would refer me to an orthopedist. I told him that since I was very small it was next to impossible to find one in my size, especially for the left hand. He said «well you’ll just have to find one.» What? Anyway he did give me my prescriptions but, today, I talked to his office and told them this was definitely not carpal tunnel but the ulnar nerve. They called back and said I was being referred to a neurologist for the diagnosis of «peripheral neuropathy». What happened to the orthopedist?

Now I worked for doctors for years and have had medical/​nursing training as well as anatomy classes. This is a classic case of cubital tunnel syndrome and I do not have peripheral neuropathy. The real question is who wants to have to diagnose themselves when they have a doctor? I don’t. I want a doctor that knows what they are doing and how to properly diagnose my medical issues. Heck, they don’t even have to have a perfect bedside manner, just be professional and thorough.
The point I’m getting at is that there is a complete lack of patient attentiveness or «listening». He didn’t even look at my fingers, hand or arm to see what the issue might be. In fact, he barely looked at me at all, just kept looking down at the chart. I didn’t receive a full medical exam either. He had absolutely no interest in me as a patient or my current medical issues. I told him I probably needed to have a routine colonoscopy (because it had been about 10 years) and he approached my statement as if it was unnecessary asking me if I had colon cancer in my family history. I don’t think I am supposed to recommend my own preventive health care and be met with a lackadaisical attitude from a physician. This should be his job, being proactive with his patients.
It seems like this doctor is completely burned out. The office staff didn’t even know that they could choose the specialist to refer me to as long as said specialist was in my network. I tried to tell them the GI doctor I wanted to see but they said that they «think» the insurance company has to choose the doctor. This is absolutely not the case. As long as the doctor is in network they can give a specific referral to said doctor. They, a network provider and primary care manager’s office, had to call my insurance company to ask.
His medical assistant was very nice. I’m not sure if she was the same girl who I talked to on the phone but, if not, the girl on the phone was also very kind and sweet thus 2 stars.
This entire 5 day experience/​situation was entirely too sketchy to entrust my health and well being to this particular provider so I nipped the problem in the bud and changed my Primary Care manager this morning.
One visit plus 2 phone calls coupled with the trouble I’m experiencing with this doctor from the get go has already been enough for me. I rarely go to the doctor, only when it’s completely necessary, but when I do I want one I can entrust my overall health and well being to.

I have been seeing Dr. Petersen for a few years now and realized I’ve yet to post a review and have to say that I am beyond happy to have found a local doctor who I just love and trust so much. I never have a difficult time getting in, even at the last minute if it’s important. Everyone there is just amazing from the nurse to the front desk. They truly care and are all so kind and helpful. If you’re looking for a local physician, look no further because Dr. Petersen is truly the best!

Definitely pass on these people! Tried a couple of times to get through. Just called again to make an appointment for my husband. Super rude, unprofessional staff. One person put me on hold, didn’t tell me they where transferring me and then sent me over the a rude woman who clearly was raised by wolves and must have just gotten dumped because she was extremely angry at the world. She was pretty much like ‘duh you were holding for me what do you want?’. Even if I tolerated rudeness on the phone, what were they going to treat us like when we are there? Hey ladies, we aren’t welfare cases, you aren’t doing us a favor cupcake. Calling a doctors office shouldn’t make you furious and I hope the doctor reads this review.
