Islander Design

Purchased a custom design from Islander. They were able to deliver it on time. The features and lighting are a constant hit at our weekend bbq’s. The palapa cover held-​up during the snowstorm of 2015. I would recommend Islander to anyone looking to build a custom bbq setting.

At first we were a bit leery, based on the fact that we had to pay for the total amount prior to delivery, but Rick and Karen really came through for us. Our BBQ island was delivered within the projected timeframe and it came out perfect! The two gentlemen that delivered the island really knew their stuff and did an excellent job of setting it up. Manuel did an excellent job as well. He connected the gas lines, explained how the grill worked, notified us that we had water in the gas line from the house and that he could take care of it. We also ordered chairs and cushions which came out beautiful. Great job Islander Designs! We will refer others to you, you can be sure of that!

Igot a phone call the day after I post the issue and the problem was fixed the next day over all I would still recommend them to my family and friends.

We stopped by the Islander location to see what they had to offer. Karen was very helpful and Rick was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the island’s construction as well as on the grills themselves. They have a well stocked showroom to let you see the quality of their islands and grills.
We liked what we saw so we set up an appointment for Rick to come out to our home to take measurements and to work out a design for our island BBQ. During the meetiing we spec’d out our island with the grill, drawers and doors we needed, and selected the tile and grout, the stucco color, and the electrical needs.
In another property, we had an extensive outdoor kitchen that had a Fire Magic grill and we wanted to know about the brand Rick’s company uses «Outdoor Chef». He provided indepth education on the «Outdoor Chef» and how it compared to our old BBQ as well as the things we needed to know about grills in general. I must say I was impressed with his knowledge and with the quality of the «Outdoor Chef» product. There are major differences in the quality of the grills out there. We loved our Fire Magic for 10 years, but I am confident our new grill will meet our expectations.
We had a budget in mind for this purchase and Rick was able to meet our budget needs as well as getting us everything we wanted in the island.
Since this was our first experience with this comany, I drove to the factory to see our unit before it was shipped. The guys there were great, and showed me our island. I have to say I was very pleased with the quality and appearence.
On the day the island was delievered, the set up crew was on time, knowledgeable and tidy! They took all the boxes with them and left us with a fully set up BBQ!
In review: the price was right, the quality is as good as I’ve seen, the appearence is terrific and the grill performs as promised. I called the Outdoor Chef customer service number to ask a few questions about fine tuning the burners and they were very helpful and gave me all the information I needed.
We have been grilling for a few weeks now and we are very happy with our purchase. Based on our experience we can recommend Islander to you.

AWESOME! 100% HAPPY! I purchased a BBQ Island from Rick for our new home in Temecula. He personally came over and met with us to explain how everything works, educated us on the different BBQ’s and sketched out a plan so we can have the vision. There is lot’s to be said when an owner takes the time to personally meet with Clients at their house these days. The BBQ was then put into fabrication, it ended up getting completed & got delivered early. The guys that delivered it had a hard task as my entrance was very narrow but managed to get it through and installed it to my satisfaction. The Palapa was put up the next day and looks awesome! Karen (Sales Rep at the Store) kept us updated and was always available to answer all my questions. I’m so happy with how everything turned out, I would recommend to anyone looking for a BBQ or other back yard goodies! Thank you Rick and Karen!

Rick has transferred our backyard into a paradise! He customized a BBQ Island and Fireplace exactly the way we wanted! He was always available and receptive to modify changes made by us. Rick was always available by phone and promptly retuned calls when necessary. He took time from his schedule to meet us multiple times to pick out our rocks, tiles, and accent pieces. Our units were delivered on the date as promised. We were even able to preview the items prior to delivery. We highly recommend Rick and his team. Thank you for amazing work and service!!!

Rick came to our house and took as much time as needed to ensure we were completely satisfied with out bar. Everyone that comes to our house loves it, the bar completely transformed our backyard. We never even went outside now its an addition to our house. Any small issues I had with the install and bar he quickly remedied. I would recommend to a friend and have already done that

My husband and I had a great experience with this company. The designer, Rick Johnson, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable when brainstorming the perfect design for our backyard. The staff was just as friendly with great help whenever we had questions about purchasing such big items. We spend a great deal of our time entertaining in our new backyard, bbqing and sitting around the firepit. We would highly recommend coming to them if you want to create the backyard of your dreams!

Rick Johnson and crew were great to work with from Rick’s design to the delivery and setup. It was hard at first to visualize how the island Rick designed was going to fit in and look in the backyard. We trusted Rick because of his knowledge and willingness to answer all our questions. We are so excited with the results … everything exceeded our expectations and the backyard now «Blows your socks off». It has become the focal point and everyone gravitates outdoors feeling like they are visiting the «tropics». We have entertained more in the last 4 weeks than all of last year.
