History
Established in 1994.
That spring, Heidi Flammang and her husband Bion put the finishing touches on a business plan that represented their dream of owning a business and creating a happier place for dogs to stay for the day or night. The thought of leaving their own beloved furry friends in a «kennel» just wouldn’t do — so they created a plan for a fun, safe «camp» version of the traditional kennel. At the same time they were developing the plan for Camp Bow Wow®, the pet care industry was growing by leaps and bounds. A new concept called «dog daycare» began popping up around the country, which is an integral part of the Camp Bow Wow® concept.
Soon after they began their search for the first Camp Bow Wow® location, Bion died tragically in a plane crash. Heidi never gave up their dream and eventually opened the first Camp Bow Wow® in 2000.
Heidi realized that she could share this wonderful business model with other entrepreneurs through franchising, and there are over 100 open nationwide.
Meet the Business Owner
Michael and Lisa H.
Business Owner
The Haights both worked for Camp Bow Wow® «Houndquarters» many years. Michael and Lisa were instrumental in developing operational processes and training techniques used franchise-wide. When the opportunity to indulge their entrepreneurial spirits and passion for pets in Temecula presented itself they could not resist the challenge of opening and operating their own location!
Both Michael and Lisa have always been very passionate about animals, and with all their knowledge on what it takes to operate a safe and loving environment for pet parents’ furry family members, they realized this was a good match.
If the Haights are not at Camp Bow Wow®, you can find Michael hanging ten at one of the local surf spots, or Lisa enjoying a ride on her thoroughbred, Remy. She also loves shopping, reading and community involvement through Temecula Valley Women’s Club. They also foster pups for Animal Friends of the Valley.
