Nice stay. Comfy beds. Good breakfast. It was a pleasant stop in the high desert. Wouldn’t mind staying here again. It’s under remodeling so the wall paper was halfway finished. Room 314

Holiday Inn is a great stay at a reasonable price in a beautiful little town. The free breakfast is the best of all the hotels in town.
During my stay our room was in the process of renovation but the room was still very pleasant and enjoyable.
Big plus was the hotel location being near the freeway and not too close to the noisy railroad tracks. Still 1.5 miles from down town.
Tehachapi is a great little town with a variety of nice little places to stay but this place is my favorite.
Ask for the AAA discount rate.

Looking for a room while traveling to Sacramento area, HIE generally a safe choice. We got into the room, it appeared like it was under construction. I thought they’d made a mistake giving us this room. They were adding a wall between foyer & main room. Drywall dust everywhere. Carpet was loose. I contacted front desk. The lady said they were upgrading room & maybe they would give me a discount for inconvenience (which they didn’t do). Not offered another room… Would have been nice of her to mention that it was under construction. I recently had major reconstruction of my leg so had to be careful of loose carpet. Room wasn’t ADA friendly so I couldn’t shower, had to clean up best I could until I get to my destination. The bed was decent. As far as the complimentary breakfast, the pancake maker was broken while we were trying to eat. The juice was watered down. The coffee was decent though. Not planning on returning to this HIE. Second time I’ve stayed here in as many years. It is a good, clean hotel. The rooms are a nice size and updated.
Fanciest of places? No way. But the beds are triple sheeted! I like it.
Room thermostat? Nope. The heat/​air conditioner sits built into the wall underneath the room’s window. No LCD control, just a knob to turn «warmer» or «colder.»
Bathroom: Good shower head with good flow. You ladies will appreciate this when washing your hair, for sure. Towels: Ordinary motel/​hotel quality.
Breakfast included: Yes. Small yourself food station that has cold and hot cereal, juice, bagels and bread to toast, scrambled eggs, patty sausage, biscuits and gravy and, of course, carafes of coffee. Not bad.

We stayed at this hotel this weekend while in town for house hunting. The staff was nice. The room was nice with wifi. The kids swam in the outdoor pool. We asked for a trundle bed late at night, which they brought to us with no charge. There is a free breakfast, too.

Good value for the price. We paid $ 104 and were not disappointed. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the location was good. Breakfast is included and was surprisingly good. Pool area was pleasant. Customer service was great. This is not a fancy hotel but it served our family well.

Such amiable and friendly front desk service! Came by not for the stay but to use their wifi and conference room. Seemingly fair prices for rental of conference room ($ 50/​hr) and its nice that they offer this option for passerby to use the wifi in a quiet location. There is also a business center that could be used. The hotel itself looks like an oasis amidst dry brown hills.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was tasty. Customer service outstanding! I got a call from Cassie at the front desk that my mother left her IPad in the room. I purchased a shipping label, emailed it to her and she said it will be in the mail tomorrow! Give her and the cleaning member who turned it in a raise please! Good job hiring team members with character!

We only stay at Holiday Inn Expresses but this one disappointed me. We like HIE’s because they usually have an indoor pool. This one has an outdoor pool, which is ok, but they don’t heat it. Totally useless to me. Temp outside was low 80’s but the pool was about 70 degrees. Also the breakfast was not good. Scrambled eggs were tasteless and the bagel was old and hard. Heat your pool!
Otherwise place was clean and easily accessed from the freeway and the staff was nice.

One of the better HIE’s I have stayed in lately. The staff was very nice from the front desk to the housekeeping staff.
The hotel was recently renovated; but be prepared they didn’t replace the beds. This hotel opened mid 2000’s. The renovations are nice with new flat screen tv’s, new furniture in the rooms and lobby, and new ergonomic chairs at the desks.
The best part– a all new lineup of equipment in the gym. For a hotel gym; even for a HIE; this gym has a great selection. Two treadmills, an elyptical, and two bikes.
I would recommend this HIE to anyone traveling through the Tehachapi area.

Definitely not a bad place to stay — rooms are spacious, clean, front desk staff are super nice, and breakfast in the morning is always yummy. I just can’t sleep here for more than a night. I have super sensitive skin and the bed linens give me a rash. Also, there are always a ton of people who work in the area and stay here during the week and man, they make the place smell like a freaking ashtray. I believe all the rooms are non-​smoking, but I think some people ignore the rule. It if wasn’t for those two issues, this place would’ve gotten 5 stars.

In terms of the appearance the hotel was good, everything was clean and in its place. The employees were nice and somewhat informative. The food on the first morning was Sub par, I didn’t eat it. The food on the second morning was much better, more like the standards I have become accustomed while staying at the holiday inn express. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Both my wife and I woke up with backaches, did not get much rest. I will continue to stay at this brand of hotel, I sincerely hope they can fix these issues so I can consider staying their with my family again.

Last time I was here the hot tub bleached my swim shorts super bad.
But the holiday inn express is always a decent place to stay.
It’s never been disappointing.
Fresh cookies when you walk in. Same with the coffee.
The breakfast sucks. But so does every mid priced hotel. Nothing new.
Great place to stay for the money.

Looks remolded or new & really easy to find. It’s in walking distance to Denny’s & a gas station. I arrived around 10pm & the check in was quick & easy. I stayed in a quiet 1^st floor room.
My only complaint is that clothes from a previous guest were left hanging up in my room :(((besides that my 1 night stay was comfy & peaceful.

If you are in the Techachapi area, this is the place to stay. It’s clean, kept up, friendly service, and consistent with the Holiday Inn Express brand. Reservations recommended, they tend to fill up and you are not likely to get a room on short notice at times.

The place is terrible! I’d love to give 0 stars… I’ve never had a problem spending a little extra cash for a nice bed but I’m telling you I could have spent 40 instead of 120 at a motel 6 and had a better bed than this place! Definitely not worth the money! Managers rude as well… Recommend staying 0.7 miles up the road at the Fairfield inn or Laquinta! Most holiday inns are worth it but not this one!!!

This place was a pleasant surprise on the way home from Las Vegas. I actually preferred it over Paris, where we stayed in LV. Everything is clean and homey. Front desk clerks were very nice and rates are reasonable. Rooms are large and include coffeemaker, microwave, fridge, and safe. The beds are SUPER comfortable — everything about them, the mattress, pillows, and comforter. It’s like a freaking cloud. The bathroom was clean and their amenities include shower cap and make-​up removing towlette, which I’d been missing this trip. Breakfast buffet was included.
The only thing that was not there was fruit slices and juice at breakfast. Not even frozen juice from concentrate or ANYTHING. I found that bizarre and did not enjoy my breakfast very much. Also, the lights in the bathroom are pretty dim.

Holiday Express is going to be a good choice, it doesn’t matter what city or town you are in. They are a big chain that mainly caters to business travelers and staying there is pretty decently priced.
This one in Tehachapi is really nice. Clean and comfortable with a friendly staff.
The free hot breakfast was decent, I wasn’t a fan of the eggs but my travel companions liked the biscuits and gravy (surprised? me too.).
It’s not right in town but the placement isn’t bad at all. A Denny’s and Texaco are across the street and the views of the mountains are beautiful.
It was quiet which is always a plus. We couldn’t hear our neighbors at all. Of course I will never understand that need for people to slam their doors at 6 am with no regard for the other guests but that is any hotel anywhere.
I would certainly stay here again and would recommend it out to folks.

I’m a fan of the place. The location just outside of Tehachapi is great for the views of the local mountains, particularly if lazing by the pool or in the hot tub. But that distance does mean that you have to make the five minute journey into town rather than just leaving your hotel to walk the old Downtown.
Had a suite… nice big room with all the conveniences. Clean and quiet. The price was reasonable. The staff upon check-​in were quite friendly.
Perk: You can ask for a coupon at the front desk which gets you a free potato skin appetizer or free soft drink at Jakes Steakhouse in town. Good deal.
One drawback: Forgot a toothbrush and called the desk to get one and they were agreeable, but wouldn’t send it up. You had to go and get it. Now that’s not much, but if you’re already ready for bed, it is a little inconvenient.
Didn’t have the complimentary breakfast and if I were you I wouldn’t either… it may be good, but you need to go to the German bakery downtown for their fresh-​baked croissants and pastries. EXCELLENT.

I wish this place was in Vegas (my final destination on this trip) – I like simple, clean, practical and comfortable. Everything is so over-​the-​top in Sin City and you have to pay so much more just to get the basics. Here’s what I appreciated at this hotel:
— real «non-​smoking» room – no traces of smoke at all
— quiet
— large comfy bed with good pillows (soft and firm options even)
— large bathroom and tub
— fluffy towels
— coffeemaker, fridge, microwave, safe – all in room
— BREAKFAST included – decent, too
— nice front desk
— inexpensive and easy to reserve, although it was pretty filled up
