Staff is very professional and pleasant. Have no issues there — BUT many pieces of my furniture were delivered (today June 7^th, 2016) completely damaged (floor lapm, a server and a bar stool). The wardrobe boxes were at the bottom, so the boxes looked like accordions thus damaging my suits and coats.
Do not recommend use this company because they hire subcontractors to unload your stuff.

These guys came on time, were polite and lovely, very helpful, wrapped my furniture meticulously, and when I got to my new place everything was intact and without a scratch!
They were quick and efficient and just lovely!
The owner later called to ask how the move went and if there were any problems demostrating excellent client care!

His crew on the day of our move were professional, easy to work with and it was obvious that they cared about our stuff as much as we did.

Buyer beware! Never again! I selected them for my move because of their competitive price but it ended up costing me far more in damaged furniture and stolen belongings! First off, they arrived over 8 hours earlier than my scheduled pickup time so I wasn’t done packing. They seemed to be in a hurry and rushed me. I would later realize that instead of removing the drawers from the dressers with care, they yanked them out with such force that they actually tore multiple plastic railings. I also discovered multiple dents and dings that weren’t there before. Granted it was a cross country move, but the delivery ended up taking 12 days longer than the estimated date of arrival. Word to the wise: be very careful before signing off at delivery time. Unfortunately I realized too late that various boxes had been opened, belongings stolen, and then resealed. What was stolen? My Xbox, GameCube, and accessories, Leatherman multi-​tool, Zippo grill lighter, along with probably several more items that weren’t as obvious. Of course, I called the company to report this. The supervisor just said he asked the packers if they took anything and they said they hadn’t (shocker) and hadn’t had any other complaints from other customers. Useless… He suggested I file an insurance claim. The insurance company said you signed off at delivery so we don’t have to compensate you anything. Even if they had paid, it would only have been based upon weight (less than $ 1/​pound) and not the actual value of the items. Lastly, I filed a complaint with the DOT for whatever it was worth. Prospective customers beware. Sometimes the most competitive price quote will end up costing you much more than you bargained for.

So this is update to my previous review. Since then Daniel from Key moving messaged me and sent me a detailed GPS report. The movers did not appear to have stopped for two hours however they did take a long route out of the City to Brooklyn and back in through the Queensborough tunnel. This is why it took the movers over two hours to arrive. At any rate, no pun intended, Daniel did take the time to explain this to me and we agreed to compromise. Daniel immediately refunded me for 1 of the 2 hours I was disputing. So bottom line is, if you choose Key Moving, make sure you understand whether you are getting and hourly rate or a flat fee, ask for Daniel to help you, and get the GPS report if you disagree with the travel time.

I just moved to a new house and used key– moving. Their service was above and beyond! 4 guys came to my house and loaded their track super fast. They were very pleasant and nice and took an extra caution when needed. Also, the price was the cheapest from all 3 companies that work around me so the bottom line is best service and best price. Highly recommend!

I have to say that their execution of our move was amazing from start to finish. We met Danny about a week before our move date for him to do the walk-​thru. He arrived 10 minutes before his appointment time (we weren’t even home yet!), and called us to say he was there. He gave a quick assessment and was out in 15 minutes. He’s exactly the way he is in the Unilocal video so it was reassuring to know that he still had the same friendly demeanor.
Move day was just as easy as the estimate. We had 4 guys arrive 15 minutes early and they moved us from North Bergen to Harrison in under 5 hours. They were quick, courteous and professional. The only gripe was they seemed a little displeased because our North Bergen home was a walk-​up. They were caught off-​guard by that for some reason. When my husband tipped them $ 25 each, they seemed like they wanted more. Aside from that, I would use them again. I appreciate a company that values my time.

Moved apartments in NYC. Scott from the office as well as the 3 men who did the move were professional and efficient. They arrived on time and were finished in under the time estimate. They helped wrap up a few larger items (couch, lamp, tv stand) to ensure there would be no damage and even provided a prorated refund as their time estimate was under what the actual job took. Would definitely recommend them.

I have used Key Moving on four separate occasions, and there’s a reason for that. Each of these moves has been unique: moving from my parents’ house, switching apartments, moving both my boyfriend’s brownstone apartment with that of my third floor walk-​up to another apartment with elevator drama, and moving me and my now husband into our first house. However, with each of the difficulties that arose with any move, the movers problem-​solved and carried on in a professional manner, without complaint.
Several years ago, my dad made this god-​awful wardrobe. This behemoth is 8 feet tall, about 5 feet wide and – I don’t know – 43 feet deep… but I refuse to get rid of it. This wardrobe has followed me on each of these moves. The crew patiently took the doors off each time, and put it back together at the other end, again, without complaint. There is no one I would trust with this clumsy piece. I cannot recommend Key Moving enough!

From finding a new place to making yourself at home, nothing about moving is particularly easy or fun. But when my wife and I moved last fall, the Key Moving crew made sure it was as convenient as it could be, and for that we’re extremely grateful!
There were a few logistical surprises along the way, and the movers took them all in stride. Bad traffic, no problem. The electric/​phone wires leading to our house were too low to get the truck into our driveway, no problem (the guys used a broom to gently lift the wires over the top of the truck… very clever). And our quasi-​spiral stairs made it difficult to get a bed to the second floor, but again, no problem. We talked it over for a few minutes, and the foreman offered to disassemble the platform bed downstairs and reassemble it upstairs… he did, and just a few minutes later the bed was in its new home, good as new.
At the end of a process full of stress, false starts and unforeseen problems, it was such a relief to work with a company who took everything in stride and made sure everything was taken care of!

Used them for my last move, I was surprised by the fair price and the professional team that came and do the hard work around my house.
They arrived right on time and did the job very quickly. Nothing broke or damaged.
Would definitely use them again when needed!!!

I used Key moving 5 years ago and the move was perfect. They arrived on time, were very professional and packed everything fast and securely. They unpacked everything for me at the new house and offered to assemble beds and tables for me. Now that I need to move again there is no doubt who I will call — Key Moving of course!

I never knew switching my winter clothes can be so hectic with my kids around. I ran out of suitcases and duffle bags and needed some boxes (especially the garment boxes for dresser and suits).
One phone call later Key Moving said they had a truck in the area and could deliver them for free (UPS can you hear…).
Two movers showed up and put those rather large boxes together and even offered to move the to the attic for me… I didn’t need that but I did need to move my child’s older bed to the basement. They ran back to the truck, brought up this huge plastic roll and covered the bed… when I asked for the cost they called the office and guess what. no charge. Off course I tipped them and thanked them.
Long story short I’m now a fan of spring clothes and Key Moving too.
I will be sure to call them when my dreaded lease is over.

Worst ever movers! I have been moved in and out of apartments a number of times before, but the unprofessionalism demonstrated by these guys was unprecedented. I was deciding between these guys and 2 other movers. Their sales person convinced me that I should choose them. He gave me a rate which is marginally lower than the others. I confirmed thar I’ll go with them. Moments later, when I called to ask a question I am told that my rate would change to 200 $ more! WHY? Because the owner felt that their salesperson had undersold and he had other customers ready to pay a higher rate!!! In any case after a discussion I agreed to a higher rate. Then an hour later again the guy calls me and says the timeslot I had asked for wont work for him! I had clearly told him that was the only timeslot I could make work between both apartments! So thats how these guys operate and call themselves a AAA rated BBB company!

I had some time to plan out my move from Philly to Austin, so I spent that time trying to find a good deal with a company I felt I could trust. I wasn’t finding the price I wanted and I felt the other companies I was talking to were allowing themselves a LOT of price padding the way they were sizing the load– really high weights, high volumes, etc. Always saying «oh well the day of it could be cheaper». I had my suspicions that anything would end up cheaper on those kinds of sliding scales.
My third in person estimate from Audi (sp?) was definitely a winner. I felt like it was a fair price and it was based on a list of inventory and not arbitrary weight/​volume estimates. Taking off a few items resulted in a very nice price with Scott Coleman, who handled my move from the sales side. I might add that Scott was very courteous and personable throughout the process.
The night before the move, I realized that as far as my box count went I was going to have quite a few more boxes. Anxiety from other movers horror stories set in… how much was this going to affect my rate? I knew I was going to have to just hope for the best, as I had more stuff than my estimate. I found I had nothing to worry about a few days later when loading the truck for the long haul, I was charged a reasonable amount for the extra goods.
Now, my stuff did take a full 16 days to arrive. It was picked up the week before Thanksgiving so I think that had something to do with it, and likely they needed to find another load to the area to send it with. So, it was a little longer than I was hoping for but the final move in went very smoothly, so I’m definitely ok with it.
My move in guys really did a great job– there were extra stairs and a long carry and they got the job done very efficiently and were careful with my stuff. All in all I would use Key Movers again, and I definitely appreciate their help in my cross country move.

Not happy at all. I booked them a month ago, but 4 days before I am set to move, they call me and ask what my flexibility is for moving. When I tell them that I can change it by a few days if need be, they proceed to tell me that since my move is not a large one, I’m not a high priority and so there is a very slim chance that they’ll be able to find someone to move me.
The problem? I signed a contract with them and thinking that I was all set for the move, I didn’t research into anymore moving companies. More than that, I actually turned some moving companies away since I thought that I was already set with this one. After much debate and a lot of anger, I decided that if need be, I could move a different week, so I emailed back to say that I was leaving on a plane, but that I could move before that — even though it made me very nervous. Scott, my contact at Key Moving & Storage, wrote back that there was a «possibility» of it happening…2 days before I leave. When we call him, he does not give us a guarantee. Basically, you can sign a contract with them, but if they decide that you’re not worth the money, they will pull out of it.
In the end, we ask him to provide his company’s lawyer’s contact info and also to update us on any developments. Luckily, I managed to find another moving company (more expensive of course)…thank goodness since I called and they were just about to go home. Scott did eventually call back to tell me that the 2 days before I leave was a definite, but how can I trust someone who I signed a contract with withdrew a guaranteed moving date, 4 days before the move? If I hadn’t planned this move far in advance of when I was to actually leave Boston, I would be screwed.
