Wild mountain has been one of our go to ski hills living in the twin cities area. We also like Welch Village. Wild mountain is probably my wife’s favorite place to ski. I will say, they have just about the shortest lines you can come by. There bar/chalet is also nice. The staff has always been friendly and the ski patrols are always looking to help. We will continue to go back. I just wish they were a little closer and had a little better ski runs.

My son rec’d a Gift Certificate Christmas 2012 — ended up not using it until Christmas 2013 — when he got there and attempted to buy his lift ticket — they said it HADEXPIRED! Are you kidding me — COUPONSEXPIRE — NOTGIFTCERTIFICATES. The effort involved in purchasing a gift certificate to this place and he ends up paying double for a lift ticket. Well worth the effort — NOT! Never again.

Yes of course I would rather hop a plane and be in Colorado for some great winter skiing but it’s not happening. As far as taking a day trip for some MN skiing Wild Mountain is great. If you have a weekend you may go to Lutsen but for a Saturday afternoon/night venture this was perfect. The runs are maintained well and there seems to be plenty of ski patrol all over. The night we skiied 3 lifts were open. We skiied from 4 until 10 and kept ourselves plenty busy. Some tried the bunny hill on snowboards, some ventured down«the wall» many times, and some found there way through the trees. We arrived with a group of 10. I had my own equipment. One of the managers noticed my skis were a bit outdated and offered to rent me free skis. How nice! Most in our group rented as well and were happy with the equipment. It does the job for this modest midwest mountain. We were even able to change between skis and snowboards for free. In between runs we sipped on beers and had snacks. $ 4 for a tap beer is wonderful. Maybe I don’t really want to go to Colorado anymore.

about an hour and fifteen from Minneapolis. lots of room to be a beginner and good slopes for professionals. rentals are about 50 bucks and they have a good area to eat hamburgers and pretzels and hot cocoa. they also serve alcoholic drinks. the slopes dont seem really long but i am told thats just the midwest’s style. there are snow guns out right now making snow

I’ve been here twice this year, and it is A-ok. There are better, and there are worse. I had some rental gear frustration both times, but two out of three staff members were totally helpful. The Friday night flood of tweens(school and church groups) can be very annoying, but you’re ok if you go before 4 or after 9. The snow is fairly well groomed, and they have a good amount of jumps and terrain elements. Beware of some smaller ones at night, especially with tinted goggles, because they aren’t always well iluminated and none are marked. They can sneak up on ya! Wild mountain is pretty fun.
