Mishelle Lamarand Photography

Mishelle is seriously the most talented and inspired photographer. I found her when I was playing around on Facebook and saw some of her work. I knew I wanted to work with her immediately. It’s funny, because when you’re engaged, you begin ‘interviewing’ venders to book for your special day. I called Mishelle and we met at Panera, where she brought her daughter, who was a delight, I told her I really didn’t need to see a portfolio, I knew I wanted to hire her, I just wanted to talk about details. She was shocked the meeting went so smooth, but I told her I had been a huge fan and I would love to work with her. Speed ahead to the big day… she was everything and more one could ask for on such a special occasion. She photographed my venue, before it got ‘crazy’ from guests… she photographed my hubby-​to-​be and she had a second shooter, who also was totally talented. She photographed me getting into my gown. Being an artist myself, I had a vision for the photography that I told her before hand and she made sure to capture those moments, such as, me walking down the stairs in my gown… things of that nature. I was getting married outside in April and of course, it rained on my wedding day, but it was on and off rain… but I couldn’t get married outside because it was too wet. She made the photography amazing, even though the backdrop was less than perfect. I had a lot (A LOT) of props I wanted to use in the photography with my new hubby and I, such as balloons, a burlap ‘thank you’ banner, numerous pairs of shoes, and polka dot rain boots, a birds nest for the rings, an IKEA umbrella (where we met)). We got married in Ann Arbor where there are a lot of fun scenic places to do fun shots. We got to the first location and it began pouring SOO hard we had to run back to the car. It was a disappointment to say the least, but Mishelle had us go to the next location that was covered and she got the most AMAZING shots! When I saw them, my mouth dropped open because they were beautiful. We went back to the reception and Mishelle got great shots of the party and everyone dancing and having a good time. As if I couldn’t say anything nicer about her, that isn’t even the best part. She knew how important the photography was to me and because the rain sort of spoiled all the ideas I had, she offered to have her niece (who is a make-​up artist, hair stylist, photographer) and her second shooter come back after a day and re-​create, yes I said that RE-​CREATE my look from my wedding day, I got back in my dress, my hubby kept his suit for an extra day and we went back to all the locations and she did all the ideas I had, TWO DAYS LATER!!! Isn’t that the sweetest thing ever!!! I was almost in tears knowing she would do that for me. We had so much fun too! No one could ever tell the difference between the actual day’s photography and the one 2 days later. Now, being Michigan, it snowed the re-​shoot day, but snow is better than rain and we went with it, even though it was freezing! Mishelle is very professional, super fun and nice, very easy going and has an amazing eye. We didn’t need engagement pictures, because when we booked her we knew we were trying to get pregnant, so we asked her if we did become pregnant if we could do maternity pictures instead, and she said sure. Well, we did get pregnant but he was a preemie and we missed our opportunity. So she did a family shoot for us for on his first birthday and she did an amazing job with that as well. The funny thing is a few people actually thought the backdrop was fake, for both the wedding and the family shoot, because her photography is so perfect and flawless. She is so much fun to work with and I often joke with her that I wish I could hire her for every event and special day all year long. I have her photography all over our house and often get compliments on it. I really cannot say enough amazing things about her! Book her! Book her right now! You won’t be sorry!
