The owner of the Taylor Donut Palace literally physically SHOVED me out of his shop for making a simple complaint!!! I live in Hutto(about 15 mins away form Taylor) and had to go to Taylor with my 3 year old son to find Donuts bc the Hutto donut shop was out of donuts. I stooped at Donut Palace in Tayor and was told they do not accept credit cards. Carrying my son in pouring down rain, I nicely told them why I was in Taylor for donuts, and asked if there was another donut shop in Taylor who accepts credit cards. I was told they didn’t know of any other shop. I proceeded to look up the only other donut shop in Taylor on my phone(which was literally across the street, one block away) and went and got my donuts. I understand that sending customers to your competition is not what business owners want to do(I own a moving company in Austin), but I also understand that good customer service is the most important thing when dealing with customers. If my company is booked or if I cant provide a service that a customer is looking for, I will refer them to my competition knowing that there is a chance for future business for helping them out. After I got my donuts from Super Donuts in Talyor(very nice people and they accept credit cards), I stopped by Donut Palace to express my complaint. I very calmly stopped by and just expressed that I felt like I got poor customer service the first time I was in. The lady owner got defensive and kept repeating«I didn’t know they accepted credit cards… The male owner heard our conversation and came out from the back and told me to «get the F*** out of his store!!!» I again, calmly tried to explain as a fellow business owner, it was poor customer service to send me on my way earlier without mentioning the donut shop that they could almost see out there window. I said he would not be receiving any business from me in the future and he yelled«Good!!! we don’t want your business!!!» and put his hands on my chest and pushed me towards the door. I would not be writing this if they would have apologized and took my advice and sent me on my way. I completely understand that businesses make mistakes(we do at my company too), but the way that my complaint was handled was completely unprofessional and border-line criminal. Business owners should NEVER put their hands on a customer. I will NEVER go to the Taylor Donut Palace again and will be finding other forums to post my review on. Hopefully Donut Palace has a corporate complaint center that I can make my complaint with. Scott D.

Wednesday is blueberry day, as I just found out. What started as a «let’s try the place» jaunt to their drive-through window has resulted in the nicest surprise I’ve found in Taylor recently. The woman(owner?) I spoke with was helpful and sweet, and when I asked about a stack of reference books I could see sitting on a table, she told me they work puzzles and such. We had a great discussion about paper-versus-digital. Oh! And the donuts melt in your mouth. Hometown experience plus good food plus a drive-through for grab ‘n go mornings? This place is a win.
