History

Established in 2008.

Jon Boyar, UT graduate and owner and founder with wife, Tiffany Griggs, started Boyar Automotive in 2008.

Jon has been working on his own cars since 16, when he first tore down the family carbuerator in the living room. He finished his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts at UT — Austin, in 1992 and then went back to school to get his ASE certifications.

In August 2008, they opened at the present location in Taylor, and two weeks later, Lehman Bros. collapsed and then the «economic downturn» happened. BUT the fact that they have flourished in Taylor despite the rough economy says a lot about Boyar Automotive: People are happy with their repairs and they keep coming back.

Boyar Automotive’s success is due to Jon’s principles and exceptional skill and experience. Together with his trusty sidekick, Tim Swanson, Jon runs his business proudly with management help from wife, Tiffany, and mom, Theresa Boyar.

Tiffany graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Texas State University, San Marcos where she majored in Management. She added Teacher Certification in Business Education and teaches locally, too.
