W H Riley & Son

Recently purchased a home in North Attleboro and was inundated with mailings from numerous oil companies. One of those was W. H. Riley and son who had recently installed a new burner in the home. Thomas Douglass was the sales representative. In talking with other companies it was clear Tom was the most knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained the nuances of the of the burner maintenace plan and automatic oil delivery. He also offered the best tank guard warranty when compared to offerings by competitors. His approach was pleasant and laid back and although their oil price was higher than most, I was convinced that WH Riley’s many years in the business was a solid choice as they are a full service company who will readily respond in the event of an emergency. I have also heard positive reports from others who have used them for years.

Upon spending $ 8,000 on a generator from Lowes, I had discovered that once I gave them their money their job was done. That was two months ago. After much screaming and yelling with Lowes to do as they had promised and facilitate the propane company I ended up with Osterman. Huge mistake! When I had researched generators I actually was going to go with W H Riley and I wish I had. I had been promised the world by Osterman and Lowes and I am very appreciative to WH Riley for trying to pick up the pieces for me. They came right out to my house, gave me their pricing which was very reasonable at that! Their prices are very reasonable, their staff is professional and takes these matters seriously and does their job completely. I very much appreciate WH Riley for helping me to facilitate this generator and the propane to be set up. Thank you so much you guys! I give them 5 stars without even having to think twice! My father and I look forward to doing business with W H Riley and staying with them until the end!

Mathew the person who tried to get us to sign that outrageous contract was an employee of WH Riley & Son, INC. He tried to get us to sign it when he come over to service the furnace. So ah yeah it was someone associated with WH Riley & Son, Inc., suggesting it was someone who didn’t represent WH Riley & Son is only wishful thinking on your part. What you don’t understand Mathew is at the time of the over priced contract being presented to me I was already a customer of WH Riley & Sons, Inc. That contract is why I stopped doing business with WH Riley & Sons. This is my review and it stands.

My elderly parents have used Riley since the 1950’s. Their oil prices can be slightly higher than one of those fly by night COD companies but they always have oil (even during the 70’s oil embargo) and are a full service oil company. Try and get service on your burner from a COD company! Riley’s service is unbeatable. As a child growing up I remember the furnace quit on Christmas morning, the service guy was at the house and had the furnace running again in less than an hour from the time we called. Then there was the blizzard of ’78, I can still see the delivery guy hacking a path to the oil fill to make sure my folks got oil.
