Business Owner

Donna, the owner of Moderna Design has always had a passion for interior design, from a young age working with her father who is a general contractor she always had an eye when it came to design. After studying psychology, she realized that she needs to go pursue her passion and go study interior design at UCLA. She is now living her dream and is a full time interior designer of her company Moderna Design.

We needed help on deciding how to remodel our master bathroom. We were referred to Donna by a friend. She came in for a consultation and we explained to her that we were having a tough time trying to figure out a better solution for our bathroom remodel. She asked us a lot of questions, like if we wanted a bath tub, toilet room, make up area, etc. she threw out some really good ideas at the consultation, took measurements and came back with an amazing 3D design for the next meeting! We were very impressed with what she came up with and in a short matter of time. At first we thought we just needed an interior designer to help is figure out the layout, but after seeing her work and how good she is with colors and making sure everything looks good, we ended up hiring her for the whole project. Donna really knows what she is talking about and is more than an interior designer.

I recently did a kitchen and added a master suite. I found moderna design on Unilocal.For my kitchen remodel I added extra cabinet space in my kitchen by using the breakfast area as now part of my new kitchen since it wasn’t really being used. For the master suite I added a walk-​in closet and a bathroom remodel. I liked the fact that Donna’s husband is a general contractor and I didn’t have to worry about hiring two separate teams for my project. They were always on the same page throughout the entire remodeling process. I was always notified before things were done, and Donna really made sure to get me the best prices when it came to appliances, tile, etc.
Once the contract was signed Donna did a 3D sketch of how the master suite and kitchen was going to look like, this was very fascinating to me since I am not such a visual person. I really enjoyed working with Donna and will be recommending her to anyone that needs interior design or remodeling.

We worked with Donna from Moderna design when we did a bathroom remodel in my parents house. She was very helpful and came with great design ideas to make the bathroom functional. She helped with all the shopping that was needed for the bathroom such as tile, fixtures, and hardware, and even gave us her discount prices which was a great way to save some money. Her communication with the contractor was really good and everything went smoothly

Thank you Donna!!! Wow what a fun experience… Moderna helped redesign my kitchen remodel. She came up with the most functional design to make use of every space in my kitchen. After measurements were taken she showed me a 3D design of what my new kitchen would look like. The design was really good! She was very organized and specific with the items that I needed to purchase for my new kitchen and she even helped me purchase them. We did the tile shopping together which was really fun (so many to choose from!) my kitchen is absolutely beautiful and the whole process was very easy and fun with the help of Donna. I would definitely recommend Moderna Design for any interior design needed.

The two main projects that we had were our kitchen and master bathroom. Being first time home owners we didn’t know much when it came to remodeling so we knew that we needed an interior designer. Our contractor introduced us to Donna and we instantly loved the ideas she came up with! She really made our kitchen remodel look beautiful! The colors, tile, countertop and cabinets that she chose all work cohesively together, and are so aesthetically pleasing. For our master bathroom she didn’t only give us great ideas to make it functional but the tile she chose and the design that she did with it on the shower walls was just something else. Definitely recommend her for any interior design services needed!

I had the privilege to have Donna help design my master bathroom remodel back in June and asked her to come back for two other bathroom remodels. When it comes to design, Donna’s work is impeccable. She is thorough, articulate and knowledgeable. She helped me with everything from tile, paint, light fixtures, hardware, and shower heads. She was there to every step of the project like designing the tile and always updating me with the project status. For my bathroom remodel projects now she completely changed the design and layout to make it much more functional. I highly recommend Moderna Design!

I heard many great things about Donna from a friend, so when it came time to do my kitchen remodel I decided to give her a call and see what ideas she came up with. I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with my kitchen so I thought that an interior designer would be a perfect idea. My friend was right with everything she said about Donna. For our consultation she asked me a series of questions like, if I was open to changing my existing layout, if I needed more storage, what my style was and etc. She took measurements of my kitchen and for the next meeting showed me a 3D design. I was in complete shock and didn’t believe that this was what my kitchen could look like. After seeing this, I hired her and really enjoyed the process of my kitchen remodel because she made it very easy for me. We went to tile stores together to pick out the tile, countertops and backsplash. We met with the carpenter together so that we can make functional use of every cabinet. My kitchen remodel is perfect and I have already recommended Donna to several people.
