Dr. Cohen, a board-​certified physician, specializes in treating a wide-​range of Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) disorders. He has performed thousands of Head & Neck surgical procedures. In addition, Dr. Cohen is an experienced facial plastic surgeon, having performed over 1000 facial cosmetic procedures (including over 400 facelifts).

Dr. Cohen is a member of both the American Academy of Otolaryngology /​Head & Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has published an impressive number of publications in peer-​reviewed medical journals, written a book chapter on rhinoplasty, and presented his research at medical meetings across the country. Dr. Cohen is still actively involved with the training of surgery residents as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Medicine’s Division of Head & Neck Surgery.

History

Established in 2010.

Dr. Cohen was raised in New York City, where hospital volunteer work and an avid interest in science launched his drive to become a doctor.

His academic journey began at Dartmouth College. He earned his medical degree at Stony Brook University (SUNY) at the top of his class and as president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then headed west to complete an Otolaryngology/​Head and Neck Surgery internship and residency at UCLA, along with a cosmetic surgery fellowship in Beverly Hills.

Dr. Cohen has received numerous awards, including the UCLA School of Medicine’s award for best teaching chief resident. He remains on faculty there as an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Division of Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Cohen is board-​certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. In addition, he is an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

This update is long overdue. I came back to see Dr. Cohen earlier in 2015 after a vicious bout of sinus infections. I was miserable, had lost my sense of smell, and was convinced that I needed surgery. My allergies were worse, I couldn’t enjoy perfumes, hand lotions or anything of the sort. Dr. Cohen (being the exceptional ENT that he is) not only treated my sinus infection but also helped me tremendously with my allergies, and all without surgery. He probably doesn’t even know the kind of impact he’s making on his patients, so this is my opportunity to thank him and to tell the world what a brilliant doctor he is. It’s like night/​day for me after my visit. I can smell again, I’ve had no sinus infections since, and my allergies have improved tremendously! I can even use perfume again, and lightly scented lotions as well. I finally found relief! I am so grateful!
His staff is great now, they’re very friendly and personable, so the visit and ease of scheduling was excellent. I scheduled online on ZocDoc, and even pre-​filled my forms online prior to my visit. His staff called me to confirm my appointment and had my paperwork ready when I arrived. The process was very pleasant from start to finish.
I took my daughter in to see him this past week and although her condition turned out not to be an ENT related issue, I still appreciated the conversation and feedback Dr. Cohen had to offer. I’m sure he’s highly respected in the medical world and if he isn’t, he needs to be! I have nothing but praise for his work ethic, bedside manner, knowledge and expertise.

Dr. Cohen removed my thyroid after my cancer diagnosis and he did a fantastic job from start to finish. He reassured me that the procedure would be routine, answered all my questions and calmed all my concerns. It was very easy to get appointments and he was great at getting on the phone when I needed him. And during surgery, he spent an extra two hours just to make sure my scar would be small and cosmetically pleasing after healing.
His pleasant bedside manner, attention to detail, and obvious work ethic makes him an excellent doctor I would, and do, recommend to everyone.

Dr Cohen is the best Ent I’ve ever been to. He always takes his time and never rush his patients. My 4 year old loves him and he is the only Dr that he allows to check his ears and throat. Shout out to his office staff and assistants especially Sherry !! They always make sure to accommodate us and we are always treated with love and respect. Than you!

I had a ENT referral from my Intern but could not get into see him until January 2016. So I went to Health Grades and found Dr. Cohen listed. Called the office on Thursday of last week and the scheduling secretary set my appointment for this morning. Very nice staff, smiling, attentive. Got into see Dr. Cohen right on the scheduled time. He was very cordial, attentive, explained what he thought my issue was, did a test, explained what he found, made suggestions to help my condition, and I was out of there. Did not try to upsell me with a surgery or other treatments. Absolutely no complaints.

I don’t ever write reviews on Unilocal but I had to share what a positive experience I had with this doctor. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Cohen, he is amazing! By far one of the nicest, most caring doctors I’ve come across! And a wonderful staff! He also fixed my deviated septum which I am very happy about. Now I’m able to breathe out of both nostrils without a problem! Woohoo!

Got my son in for an appointment quickly. Relieved his ear pain immediately with the device the doctor used. Very pleased! Had to pay over $ 100 but that’s because I haven’t met my insurance deductible.

Dr. Marc Cohen is by far one of the most professional, honest, friendly and care Doctor !!! I came to him with Polyp in my throat which effected my voice and my ability to breathe right.
I have tried to resolve this few years ago with a different ENT Doctor which literally lied to us and made us spend more than $ 4000 for an unnecessary procedure with zero results! We were very disappointed and afraid to go to a different doctor, and then we met Dr. Marc!!! He had diagnosed my problem in his office, explained to us what needs to be done, and within a month or so we were at the hospital after the procedure. Everything went smoothly and the procedure was very successful. My voice is back to normal and my frustration is gone!!!
We end up paying less then $ 1000 for the entire procedure and are very happy with the results!
We are highly recommends Dr. Marc services, he is a great doctor with the care that we didn’t see for a long time! Most of the services those days runs around money, his DONT!!!

Just brought my teenage daughter to see Dr. Cohen for a persistent sinus infection that has been causing her breathing problems and has not been getting better, despite antibiotics and repeated trips to her pediatrician. Dr. Cohen spent quite a bit of time with us and explained her symptoms to us in great detail and put our minds at ease that indeed, she is getting better and will be OK. His friendly and calming demeanor was especially reassuring. Dr. Cohen is clearly a very caring and knowledeable doctor and we are very happy to know him! I will be recommending him to my dad who has chronic sinus issues. Oh, and his very nice and accomodating front office staff squeezed her in to the Dr.‘s schedule the same day I called. Now that’s good service! :)

Dr. Cohen helped me get rid of something that had been in my left nostrol for years. It started as a skin piece and then grew into something bigger and more painful to touch. I was really nervous because I have never had anything like this done, but I know Marc Cohen is very well known and respected so I felt safe. I had no wait at all and the staff was very nice.
He gave me a shot in the nose which of course isnt a great feeling but he helped me stay calm and it was over with quickly. He then cut the growth out of my nose, and it was so quick and I didnt feel a thing. I started to feel a little dizzy though from being nervous probably, and as soon as I told him, he put my chair back and told me to move my feet and immediately I felt so much better, which is amazing because that has happened before and it usually takes a long time to go away. He called me to check up on me the next day and they tested the growth and he told me what it was. My nose has now healed and I have a clear nostrol!
I recommend him, he is very experienced and good at what he does!

My primary doctor is in Burbank between work and home. I chose her because of the convenience of the location. I have throat pain for months, went to see her before Thanksgiving, she referred me to Dr. Marc Cohen in Tarzana. I was not thrilled at first as it is far from my office. the holiday traffic was horrendous and I was 20 minutes late. The receptionist told me that because I was late for my appointment, I had to wait for 45 min to an hr so my options were either tow wait or to schedule for another appointment. The thought of fight the traffic go get there again didn’t appeal to me so I said I would wait. while on my way to the ladies room, another staff walked out and told me that the wait may not be that long but they had to tell me the max wait time, it was comforting to hear that. I felt like sitting on pins and needles while waiting for Dr. Cohen. He walked in with a smile on his face, that took some of my fear away, I instantly felt that I was in good hands. He listened to me attentively, knowing that I had great concern about cancer, he said that he could run a test to find out if there was anything abnormal. the procedure was simple and painless, it took about 20 mins and he told me the good news that everything was normal, he suggested some medicine and will give me another examination a month later. When I walked out of his office, the staff who set me up for the test put his thumb up. If you are nervous like me about going to the specialist, this is a great place to go. The professionalism and friendliness of Dr. Cohen and his staff will put you at ease. Another plus of the office is there is plenty of free parking on the street.

It’s my first time to review a doctor. You go for a visit assuming they have to take good care of you, but not always.
I went to see Dr. Cohen for some problem a year ago, and a few day ago I brought my husband with his constant problem with his nose.
Dr. Cohen was very professional, sent him to do CT scan right away and explain everything very clear.
Also, there is something very pleasant and comforting about him.

Dr. Cohen is the nicest doctor ever. I visited him because of my sinus problems. He was a little late that day. He apologized to me and explained that he had to an emergency surgery at Tarzana hospital. Even though he was late and had other patients waiting, he took him time to do a complete exam and answered all my questions. He also ordered an MRI, and personally called me back when he got the results.

Have had 3 visits with Dr. Cohen so far. He is easy to talk to, does not rush you and does his best to diagnose you correctly. I have never had to wait more than about 15 minutes past my appointment to see him. I have an ongoing sinus problem right now so it was suggested that I have a CT Scan so that he can see what is going on with my sinuses, etc. Helpful, caring and friendly is how I would describe him. I highly recommend him.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Dr. Cohen and his staff. Had my tonsils removed by him a week ago. Dr. Cohen and his office staff have been beyond nice and amazing. The recovery for me has been a crazy roller coaster and very painful but Dr. Cohen has been nothing be awesome when it comes to being there for his patients.
I have contemplated this surgery for years and by chance found Dr. Cohen I am very happy I did. He is always on time and has answered every question I have asked.
I highly recommend him for anything ENT related!!!

I was referred to Dr. Cohen by my PCP. I had been having ear and hearing issues for the better part of 6 months. I called to make an appointment, and they accommodated me quickly.
I arrived for my appointment on time, having filled out the new patient data in advance.
I waited less than 10 minutes, and was called in. With 5 minutes Dr. Cohen came in, I described my symptoms, and 15 minutes later, he correctly diagnoised the problem, cleaned both ears… properly, and I was on my way. Very nice young man, very assured.
He wil now be my ENT physician.

I had my first appointment today with Dr. Cohen and let me just say that if I could give him more than 5 stars I would.
1. His office team is cheerful, helpful and efficient and the office and examination rooms are all well-​kempt.
2. Dr. Cohen was on time and not in a hurry whatsoever.
3. Dr. Cohen patiently asked me questions about my problems
4. He gave me medicine to clear my sinuses and warned me that it was going to taste lousy and gave me a sugar free candy as preemptive antidote which worked great.
5. Answered all of my questions
6. Explained his diagnosis/​prognosis very clearly
7. I believe he genuinely cares.
So, there you have it. I remember hunting for an ENT and wondering who to pick and I am really glad that I chose Dr. Cohen. I would recommend him to all all of my family and friends and I am really grateful that he accepts my HMO.
So bottom line, I had a great experience.
