Sadly, I was never able to actually make an appointment with Dr. Kaplan. His front desk person was so difficult, I opted to go through the hassle of getting another referral to a different, more welcoming office. When we have to jump through so many insurance-​related hoops, the very least we should expect is helpful, respectful service from the front desk. The woman with whom I spoke (she refused to give me her name) was not only rude but actually confrontational. This is not the type environment I’d want caring for any aspect of my health or well-​being.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kaplan’s for many years. My husband and daughter are patients as well. He is one of the smartest people I’ve ever met… well-​versed in so many areas. He takes the time necessary to discuss appropriate treatment alternatives, which is really important because as patients we leave the office with information… not just a prescription and a band-​aide. The extra attention cmeans that he does occasionally run a few minutes late. But anyone who has received that extra few minutes of his time should understand the importance of having a doctor who takes the time to communicate. A few minutes in the reception room is a small price to pay.

Just took my grandmother here today. She has been with this doctor for a while now, but all the things he has prescribed for her rash has not helped. This is why I came. I feel like this doctor today did not know what she had and just gave her more meds. He barely even looked at her rash and said it could be 3 different things! Also her appointment was at 2pm today and we didn’t even see the dr. Until 2:40 pm! While in the room waiting I heard a lady complaining about how long she waited and didn’t want to be charged for the visit! I don’t blame her. I’m looking for a new dermatologist! I will not bring her back here. The only nice person here was the assistant.

I was a patient of Dr. Kaplan from 2008 – 2009. He was wonderful.
During college, I started to get stubborn acne on my cheeks and chin. I saw several dermatologists over the course of a year before coming to Dr. Kaplan. They all prescribed creams and antibiotics: which cleared away the acne temporarily, but it always came back.
I was fed up and got a referral from my mom who saw Dr Kaplan for psoriasis. During our initial meeting, I explained that the previous treatments were not helping my skin and he put me on Accutane (I don’t think that this treatment is available anymore) for a year. At first, my insurance would not pay for the treatment, but Dr. Kaplan was able to get it approved very easily. Although the treatment required monthly blood and pregnancy tests, and my skin dried up like crazy, the treatment worked for me and my acne never came back.
He was very sweet with me at my initial visit. I was wearing loads of makeup to cover my horrendous acne. Since he needed to see it, he gave me a makeup remover towelette. Knowing I was ashamed of my face, he said «my my, I see such a beautiful girl under all of that makeup.» He knew I was vulnerable and made me feel at ease with him. A good soul, that man is.
I saw Dr. Kaplan every month for a year. Knowing how nasty Accutane’s side effects were, he was always willing to prescribe me cleansers and moisturizers to help with the dry skin side effects. Oftentimes, he would just give me a bunch of samples so I didn’t have to fill and buy the rx.
I loved the staff and was always seen in a timely manner. I saw that a previous reviewer said he was rude… dry sense of humor, yes. But, rude, never! He was always kind and professional to me.

I have no idea what this other reviewer is talking about. I love Dr. Kaplan. I was very nervous about changing dermatologists. Had been seeing my previous one for over 10 years. Dr. Kaplan made me feel at ease from the very first visit. It’s going on 2 years now. I have never had to wait long, or had a problem getting an appt. in a reasonable amount of time. I also love his nurse Stephanie. She has been very helpful and accommodating.

This Doctor was so mean and nasty It was unbelievable how aggressive and nasty he was «RUDE RUDE RUDE» and that was after waiting two hours THANKS
